Pastry Atelier PQ

Last year, I told my friend that cakes can't be instagram-pretty AND delicious at the same time. She disagreed with me and told me to reach out to Pastry Atelier PQ. I've never been happier to be proven wrong!

Pastry Atelier PQ's cakes are gorgeous, jaw-dropping, elegant, beautiful, all the great adjectives you want to use. They are also delicious. I threw a last-minute birthday party together and was relieved to find options for week-of cakes. I ordered two 6" cakes (guava passion and strawberry shortcake). Both cakes were moist, flavorful without being cloyingly sweet, and very clearly (in a good way!) Asian-inspired. These are the perfect desserts to order if you want to impress your friends/family.

Ordering is very easy and done on her website. She is extremely responsive to requests. Pick up is contactless and ready within a strict 15 minute window (which I so appreciate!). Can't rave enough about the cakes I had! Thank you, PQ!!

I think this may have been the best cake I've ever had and I've tried a LOT of cakes.

I ordered a bento gift set with a Strawberry Jasmine cake for a friend's simple birthday celebration. My friends could NOT stop raving about how flavorful and cute the cake was... I'm still thinking about the strawberry jasmine flavor. Thankful for the flexibility in changing the pickup time too. 10/10 will be purchasing a cake from here again

My favorite flavors are guava and passion fruit. Guess what?! PQ has a signature flavor with guava and passion fruit!!! And it tastes AMAZING! Her cakes are not too sweet and don't have too much sugary frosting. The guava sponge cake is really moist and delicate. The passion fruit curd tasted perfect. The frosting we chose was a strawberry one instead of the orange. I had tried the orange blossom and loved it but because my husband and I prefer fruits in season, we opted for strawberries because strawberries were in season. The traditional orange blossom would still have been amazing.

I don't think you can find another pastry chef like PQ who has unique flavors like guava and passion fruit. I looked far and wide after attending a wedding in Hawaii that had guava cake. The balance of her flavors was exquisite. Also my husband and I took a large segment with us to go and finished eating it over the course of a month. It stayed really well and was such a delight to eat.

I also got many compliments from guests who said it was the best cake they had and also never had a cake like hers. We didn't want a traditional flavor and are so happy we were able to get a cake with our favorite tropical flavors.

PQ also did us a huge favor with her service of delivery. She had a wedding pretty far away and was able to still give us the wedding cake of our dreams. While I did pay a "premium" price for the delivery, I would expect that having to drive 100ish miles. We had a 3 tier cake and it was delivered in perfect condition. I'm still waiting for photos from my photographer which could take months. But thankfully I have a photo from the wedding planner which I'll include.

PQ was easy and flexible to work with on the design. I honestly had no idea really how to design my cake. I just knew I wanted a pop of color with lavender and let her figure out what flowers to use on the cake. It looked like a work of art at our wedding.

She was professional and responsive throughout the entire process. Our method of communication was email. This worked perfectly well with us. My wedding planner worked with her directly day of the wedding and had seamless interactions with PQ.

Absolutely fantastic experience with PQ! She has been our go-to for baking my daughter's birthday cake and desserts for two years now. Her creations are not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious. The attention to detail and the personalized touch she adds make every celebration extra special. We love her passion for baking, and it truly reflects in the delightful treats she crafts. Five stars without a doubt - she has become an indispensable part of our family celebrations!

Wow! Chef PQ absolutely knocked our vision out of the park and made our wedding dessert dreams come true! I have been a huge fan of her work for some time and when I heard she was doing weddings, I immediately reached out.

My family and I were looking for someone to make a dessert table for us as well as individual heart entremet cakes as wedding favors. Moreover, I had a specific theme in mind for our wedding for our wedding cake decorations. Chef PQ was great at communicating via email our vision and gave us great suggestions on what was popular. My husband and I even enjoyed her cake tastings (which were also aesthetically pleasing!)

Chef PQ was also so kind to make two separate deliveries for us to make sure our desserts were fresh for our guests and suggested a great partner for us to rent our dessert table items from. We appreciated the high level of service, professionalism, quality of ingredients,and love put into our desserts. All of our guests were left in awe of her work. We are incredibly grateful to have Chef PQ's work part of our special day!

Five stars for her beautiful design and delicious cake ! There is nothing more you can ask! If you like buttercream like me, you will be able to find all the unique flavors on her cake list !!!
She is also awesome to work with! I always order my birthday cake with her and finish it myself. The only worry is to find more excuses to order her cakes !!!!!

Than you PQ

A long overdue review for PQ! We are so happy that we contracted PQ to make our wedding desserts and cake, and now I think we found our go-to baker for special occasions! She is easy to work with, incredibly thoughtful and most important of all, super talented! We spoke to a number of bakers but decided to go with PQ because she was very respectful, is a local business, and also had Asian flavors that I sought after in desserts.

We ordered cheesecake bites (flavors: classic and jasmine/strawberry), cream puffs (flavors: ube and vietnamese coffee), and the London fog for our wedding cake. Absolutely loved all of them - especially the cake since it was not too sweet and had amazing textures and flavors. Everyone including our wedding planner enjoyed it!

In addition to all the work she's done for our wedding, we also ordered many of her seasonal desserts and a birthday cake for my husband. Her Mother's Day entremets and Father's Day tiramisu were a hit with both sides of our families (yes we ordered 2 each for our respective parents!). We also asked her to make my husband a birthday cake and gave her complete creative freedom. She was able to create something that looked magical. Our photos truly does not do her justice because everything we had tasted amazing.

We are such big fans of her and highly recommend her anyone seeking great desserts and service!

A friend brought some cookies from here, and I fell in love with the Oreo cookie. The texture is perfect, it's generous on the Oreos, and it's not too sweet. Their other specialty pastries look beautiful and would be perfect for a special event.

PQ's desserts are not only gorgeous, they're delicious! We've had quite a variety of treats from her - her macarons are the best I've had and her entremets are showstoppers and so so good. Her attention to detail, flavor combinations, and care for her customers make me want to place as many orders as I can from her!

Our friends who don't like many desserts always love when we share PQ's goodies because they're not too sweet. She's definitely our go-to for special desserts.

PQ absolutely delivered with our cake and dessert table for our wedding! Everything was so delicious - do yourself a favor and get the Earl Grey cake - you won't be disappointed! The table setup was beautiful and we got so many compliments on it from all of our guests that the desserts were full of flavor and not too sweet (the ultimate compliment for Asian desserts!).

We ordered chocolate and vanilla buttercream opera slices, vegan berry panna cotta, hojicha cream puffs, pistachio macarons, and matcha strawberry tartlets.
