Why they charging $12 for each prescription if I don't get them there...unbelievable...oh I know why do you refill them at their place

Don't bother with this poorly managed office.
I rescheduled 2 times with advanced notice and now I am told they will NOT accept my dog for an appointment.
Plenty of other more reputable and accommodating vets in Macomb County.....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Robyn, your first request for an appoint was February 10th,we schedule the appt for you at 9:52 am. You texted us back at 10:02 am to cancel, 10 minutes later. We reschedule for Feb 27th at 2 pm. We took the time to call your previous vet to get your prior records, for your Feb 27th appt. You then texted on Feb 26th to cancel via text. Very Veterinary clinic is extremely busy and repetitive cancellations keep truly sick patients from being seen and helped. We DON'T charge new client deposits as most clinics, but after two cancellations it is best you find a clinic who can accommodate repetitive cancellations. Thank you for your review but you must understand we need our appointment for our sick patients who need to be seen and holding appts. open for new clients who keep cancelling is not clients we prefer to service. Have a nice day.

I have been very happy with our services over the many years we've been going here. I have been to other vets in the past and they lack the personal touch we get with this place! We defiantly feel like family here. If you're tired of the vets that book 150 pets in a 100 pet time slot... then this is your place! Prices have always been great, too!

This place pretends to care about your animal, but they really only care about money. We purchased the puppy wellness package that included the spay for 20% off, so the package was a total of around $800. In the contract it said your puppy had to be spayed by seven months old. We had to reschedule her spay when she was six months old, and when I called back to reschedule she was just about seven months old at that point, so they couldn't get the spay in until she was seven months and one week old. They said since she was past seven months we would have to pay for a spay all over again, and they wouldn't refund us for the spay we already paid for included in the package. I called and spoke to the vet and she told me the best she can do is give me 10% off the spay... So essentially they wanted us to pay for 2 spays, one that was 20% off and another spay for 10% off, all because of a little mistake on our part with the timing of the spay. I've been to vets in the past who look over this type of thing and put their love for the animal first. I told them we would be finding a new vet, and they still didn't budge on the situation, they just let us leave. I'm not the type of person to leave bad reviews, I'm just really hoping the right person reads this review and chooses somewhere else for their own sake. If they see this review the vet will probably type up all of their excuses, but bottom line is all they care about is money.

There are no excuses. You broke your contract by not scheduling your pets appointment in the appropriate time frame listed in the contract you signed.

The service is average at best. They try to nickel and dime you for everything, I was pushed over the edge when they tried selling their pet insurance coverage and they were upset when we did not sign up. We also requested to get written scrips to purchase medication from another provider, this upset them since we did not buy from their store so they charged us for each written script. Also, hope your pet does not have an emergency since the vet will never return your call. We are at another vet on Hall/Romeo and extremely happy, the vet and office staff actually called to see if our puppy was ok after our visit.

Dear Tony,
We don't offer nor sell Pet Insurance, we do offer wellness plans which save an average of 20% off all your pet's medical care annually of which you only have small monthly payments. It is totally up to the client to chose if they want to save money or not on their pets health care.
In regards to emergency calls, they are always returned immediately unless it is after hours of which we list several emergency hospitals to go to after we close. Due to the pandemic, most emergencies clinics are overwhelmed and it does take time to be seen.
Of products our hospital doesn't carry, our on line pharmacy will ship directly to you at no charge. For each written script of products we stock, it does take time away from our patients in need of medical care. To write a script takes staff time to pull your pet's file, doctors' time to write the script, staff time to make copies and then time to document the script for legal reasons. Again, our patients deserve our total attention towards their medical care not writing scripts..
We only wish you the best at your new veterinarians office. Please call our office if you need us to transfer your file to them. - Anthony C.Macomb, MI243Aug 12, 2021
I can say without doubt this veterinarian over all others truly cares about animals. They saved my cat's life. It wasn't anything particularly special that they had to do except be the only Veterinary Hospital within 50 miles of my house that cared more about my cats life than profits and wait times. My cat had an infection but I could not get an appointment with any vet sooner than over 2 weeks away. As the days passed I watched as my cat began to fade away. Desperate, I called every Veterinary Clinic, hospital, and even Emergency Center I could find. None of them would see my pet, even when I told every one of them how bad my cat was, that I was watching her die. Every single one of them said they were either not taking new patients or were too busy to see my cat anytime soon. I heard the same sickening excuse over and over again, that if they accepted any additional animals on a triage level that wait times for myself and other people would be too long. They did not care about an animal's life at all, only how long someone had to wait to for an appointment so they can keep that person's business. Even when I pressed and ask them a question, "so you're telling me that an infection is a death sentence for my cat?". They all responded with yes then recommended me to another veterinarian that they believed had time. All of this sounds unbelievable but it is all true. The next veterinarian said exactly the same thing and I repeated the process almost 30 times. I finally ran across Pets Ahoy. Pets Ahoy was just as busy as every other veterinarian, except they made an appointment for the next day. And that is how they saved my cat's life, by caring enough about it to make time to save it. Pets Ahoy is a single Veterinary Animal Hospital, and they made time while other practices with several veterinarians on staff refused to see my dying cat. So if you're looking for a veterinarian that you can trust, I can assure you from personal experience that this is the only one in Macomb and Oakland counties that truly cares about your animal. I would like to thank everyone from Pets Ahoy for taking the time that no one else would to save the life of my dying cat. She is completely healed now and back to her old self again.

I chose this facility because it was near my home. The best decision I could have ever made. Dr. Williams and her staff are so caring and they have treated all of my dogs like they were special. I recently lost my puppy to a tragic accident and Dr. Williams and her team were so comforting and sincere, words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation they showed me and my husband during our time of sorrow. Would recommend Pets Ahoy to everyone.

I have been going to Pets ahoy for over 11 years with my Dogs Maggie and my new dog Cali. Dr Williams and her staff are amazing. Recently Maggie has come upon some health issues and had to take her to an emergency vet over mothers day weekend. Dr. williams called me the next day and has followed up with Maggie since then. I would highly recommend Pets Ahoy for dogs or any other animals. I have never waited in the office for more then 5 minutes after my appointment time. The love and care Dr. Williams and her staff shows for all animals is amazing. I highly disagree that this office is just for cats, my dogs have gotten awesome care over many years and plan on continuing for many more.

Overpriced and does not specialize in dogs. Misdiagnosed many times. People with cats love this vet. So probably just no puppies. Luckily we were referred to Wilson!!!

Lynn, we are sorry you feel we don't specialize in dogs, only board certified veterinarians can claim that. We however are a general medicine practice who offer a wide range of services on not just dogs, but cats, rabbits, gerbils, rats etc. We are happy you found a veterinarian who you are happy with. Thank you for your review and comments.

Great little pet hospital! Very friendly staff. They give a welcome bag to new clients. Maybe I paid a little more than I did at my old vets but this place was very nice.
