This is the second time we have used Phil's services and either buying or selling, he's a great realtor. His communication was great, he went out of his way to make himself available whenever we needed him and did things like getting here early for inspectors, changing lightbulbs, advocating for our concerns. I had lived in my home for 24 years, so when I decided to sell I wanted a realtor who was a great listener and communicator. I had never sold a home before, only bought one. After being recommended by two friends of many years, Phil Keppel turned out to be the perfect choice: He was honest, professional, available 24/7 via email or phone, and, just as important, a friendly guy who knew what I was going through, and made the process easy and streamlined as possible. Phil is such a great guide during the home-buying process. We were first time home buyers, trying to navigate an insane Los Angeles housing market. Phil never pushed us to go beyond our comfort zone, but talked us through the risks when we needed to think outside the box for our offers.

He was very knowledgable and savvy, we could always tell he had our best interests at heart and genuinely cared about getting us into the home we wanted. It was a long process but he never gave up on us and kept us thinking positively. Once we finally got our offer accepted, we could tell in his voice he was just as ecstatic as we were!

Throughout the process it really felt he was more of a friend than Realtor - one we could joke around with and discuss things outside of real estate. Highly recommend!

AND THEN YOU MEET PHILIP - talk to him for 1/2 an hour about your needs... and within 20 minutes of that first connection - he's not only SURPASSED fictional realtors - he's made you EXCITED ABOUT REALTY (again).

I worked with Phil for both buying and selling a condo and thought he did a terrific job. He's very honorable/ethical and is very knowledgeable about real estate and even understands construction etc when evaluating homes.

My husband and I just bought our first home. This is a terrible market for a buyer to try to get a house, but Phil made it as joyful of an experience as you could hope something as terrifying as jumping into home ownership can be!

We accidentally met him at one of his open houses and he instantly won us over with his obvious trustworthiness. We wanted to work with him just based on that meeting alone, but he told us to look him up. We discovered how highly everyone spoke of him and how much experience he has (years in the business, PLUS he knows about the neighborhoods and what's reasonable given the comps, knows many other realtors in the area, has a good understanding of what's possible with a property as far as renovations...I could go on). That feedback was vital to our comfort and confidence in moving forward with him as our realtor and it also ended up being the cornerstone for our success.

Not only that, we were THRILLED with how our deal shook out in the end. How many buyers in this market are saying that?! He was patient with us (through our many months of searching and TONS of open houses -- my husband started joking that he was our friend Phil who just really liked going to open houses with us), never pushed us and always reminded us our offers needed to make sense for US.

We always knew with every offer we submitted that the combination of our buyer letter matched with his honesty, authenticity and great personality, that we'd be a shoe in. And we were always very competitive in the running. When we finally landed ourselves in escrow with a deal we were happy about, he guided us through every step of that too and helped us navigate our way to getting exactly what was fair and made sense to us. We walked out of escrow at closing extremely happy and confident we'd found the right house for us at a price we felt we could afford.

My wife and I just bought our first home together. We met Phil randomly while out at open houses and immediately liked him. He was knowledgeable, easy going, and most importantly for us, not pushy. He was there to help, not make a sale.
We signed on with Phil and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. He was always available, easy to schedule and see homes with, he was always making calls on our behalf to sellers, our loan company and escrow making sure everyone was on top of everything.

The reoccurring thing you will hear about Phil whether it be on Yelp or elsewhere is that he feels like a friend. He is! And not in that disingenuous "used car salesman" way. The integrity is apparent upon meeting him. I put Phil through the paces for years before buying. The number of homes he's shown me In the 4 or 5 years are countless! When the time came to finally buy he helped sell a very difficult townhouse in order to buy a pool home in a fabulous area with minimal stress. Phil Keppel should be voted "Real Estate Agent of the Year" in Los Angeles!

We worked with Phil to buy our 1st home. He is very approachable and friendly, and we felt comfortable with him right away after meeting him and his wife at an open house. Phil knew the market extremely well, and gave us invaluable advice.

Long story short, we had made a quick decision that we wanted to place an offer on a home, and he worked immediately to put together a competitive offer. Put in mind, we decided to make this offer at 9pm. By mid-morning the following day, we were informed our offer was accepted by the seller after just going on the market. We were lucky, as there were additional competing offers later that day, but ours was accepted due to the fact it was written and presented to the seller before any others. We are very thankful, and fortunate of the extra hours put in by Phil to get us our place. He never changed attitude/pace even after we had seen 100+ homes, and had 4 other offers not accepted (due to cash buyers).

We had the best possible experience with buying our home, and Phil was a huge part of that. He is professional, responsible, responsive, and a great guy. It was a pleasure working with him, and now we continue to stay in touch with him and his wife Jill as friends. I have recommended Phil to others, and will continue to do so.
