The first time I tried this place I thought it was amazing. Then again, I may have been day drinking before ordering pizza that night....
With that said, I tried this place again and felt it was just mediocre. The pizza isn't bad but it didn't blow us away either. If I lived in the neighborhood, this would be a reliable 6 out of 10 pizza but I would not go out of my way for it. Sorry pizza express! I wanted to love y'all just as much the second time but it just wasn't as good :/

Oh no 0Oct 6, 2019Previous reviewMy friend is new-ish to Henrico and didn't know any good pizza places, so I looked through some options on Yelp and gravitated to Pizza Express because the pictures looked good. It did not disappoint! The service was incredible. The gentleman who took my order via phone was very courteous and guaranteed our order in 35 min, and they were right on time! The pizza arrived fresh and hot, we actually had to wait for to cool down so the cheese wouldn't fall off (not a bad thing to have to do, just shows how fresh it was). We got one cheese, one pepperoni and one half spinach half pep with fresh garlic. All of it was amazing. Definitely NY style pizza - crust, sauce, cheese, grease (in a good way) - all amazing. And the price was affordable! Three larges was $46 (not including tip). We had 7 people to feed and it was more than enough. Overall, this place is awesome and if/when I move back to RVA, I will definitely order again.
1074236429861May 8, 2022I've been doing my best to ward off the intense craving for Pizza Express since my visit. It's a good 12 minutes away, and I hate driving, so that has helped, but ugh - I'm still dreaming of their cheesesteak, Italian hoagie, and cheese pizza: aka, the trifecta of my favorite pizza-place foods.
I'd dare say that the cheesesteak is one of the best in/around the city. I was the passenger in the car, and I couldn't resist immediately opening the packaging and going to town. It was half gone as we pulled into my building's garage. Seriously: deeeelicious.
We got the pizza as light on sauce, and when my mom opened it at the counter to inspect it, her reaction was, "PERFECT!" Legit, so good. And it warmed up well, too! Also very important.

The pizza was great better than I expected. I think they are hands down the best in Richmond.

After living in Richmond for years, and trying ALL the pizza places in the Far West and West End, I have found my NY pie. Pizza Express makes a fantastic pizza with fresh ingredients, thin crust, and just the right amount oil, cheese, and sauce ratio. It is absolutely to die for. I highly recommend Pizza Express if you want an amazing Pizza

I love love LOVE everything about this place, especially the wings. Their wings are fat and juicy, and full of flavor. Definitely try them with the sweet red chili sauce, it is amazinggg! The sizes for their pizzas seem bigger than other pizza places. We ordered a medium the first time and it looked like we got a large. I love that they don't skimp on the toppings and all of it is fresh. The only thing I'd change is to ask them to go light on the cheese. We didn't ask for extra but they were a bit heavy with the cheese both times we ordered, which is perfect for cheese lovers!

I ordered a pizza at 4:20 pm, it is now 7 pm and no delivery. I have attempted to call multiple times and it goes to voicemail. WTH?
