Wanted to get a cup of Joe from the locals and here we have it!!! Plate 21 it is!!!

Just did a search for coffee in the area and this is where we landed.

Love the outdoor seating and the clean look and feel to the place. Going indoors, the lime green walls give it a bright, welcoming feeling... the hard wood floors are a plus; helps to open the floor for a spacious look. Look at me being all HGTVish, you go girl!!! Anywho, I totally love the modern look and feel of the place.

The staff were super duper patient, as they took time to explain and answer a few of my questions; espresso this & HOMEMADE brown sugar that. Love that the brown sugar flavor is HOMEMADE, did you catch that in the previous sentence, if not, know you did. Lol.

I'd definitely return, but I'd make sure to come earlIER as they ran out is scrumptious pastries... to his credit one of the staff members open & honestly took responsibility for the lack of pastries... lol, too cute.

Wonderful food and friendly staff- fairly recent new ownership. Thankful for many delicious and fresh vegan options! One of the few places that offer sustainable choices like that. I come regularly to support this locally owned business and service has always been personable and quick.

Cozy coffee shop with an array of coffees, specialty drinks and food options. The pesto paninis are outstanding!

Well this is really cool place but they got 2 dings against because large size cup is actually a small and no real honey. But I'm testing a coffee drink, the usual, but honey syrup. A breakfast sandwich being prepared also. And it's excellent!!

Prices have increased significantly - $8 for a 12oz almond milk latte with a flavor. No other size is offered. Customer service also gone way down - last visit the barista stopped making my drink 3 different times to check his phone and eat a muffin. Also, this used to be a place I could bring my young kids. Recently a staff member had the word F#%K on the back of his shirt in huge letters...great family convo over breakfast. Sadly I won't be coming back as this used to be my favorite coffee spot in town. Reached out to the business via their social media platforms to share my feedback but no response.

The breakfast wrap is not the best, the "lunch" options are better. The coffee from MadCap is very good. I wish they had better syrups and options to make drinks. Place is in a nice little neighborhood strip. The inside could use some sprucing up but all in all ok. Some of the staff is quiet and obviously don't want to be there. Some staff is friendly.

After my middle child passed her driver's test, we wanted to get schmancy coffees to celebrate. Skipping over the various chains, we quickly used Yelp and zeroed in on Plate 21. On entering, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff, who patiently answered all our questions. Ultimately we ordered seasonal fall space lattes and split a pistachio muffin. After a short wait, our drinks were ready, and both of us agreed that they were excellent! My daughter also commented that she really liked the aesthetic of the shop, with its crisp, clean lines and understated décor.

PROS: friendly staff and great flavours

CONS: a little on the pricey side

Overall, I rate Plate 21 as being as being Very Good, and look forward to returning the next time we are in the area.

It's coffee... Coffee is life. But apparently life is SLOW and forgetful. I stood there like a moron waiting for my last drink (we ordered 3) before I realized they weren't making it... but they didn't forget to charge me for it. It a tad pricy for the neighborhood. The coffee itself was good, the smoothies lacked flavor. It's not a bad spot, but I won't be a regular.

This is my favorite place to go in Toledo for tea, both for the selection and knowledge of how to brew it. My fave is Happy Tea, similar to Jasmine and really does make me happy! Plate 21 is also great for food like homemade cookies and muffins, edamame salad, and panini sandwiches. The baristas are always friendly and will go out of their way to serve their customers. I also love the atmosphere, which is bright and cheerful without being loud and overstimulating. Finally, check out the live acoustic music on special nights when you can order local beer and kombucha. Enjoy your visit!
