Love plate one!
Their coffee is always consistent if you like getting the same thing every-time!
Lots of choices to choose from both for coffee, and alcoholic beverage.
Their chicken pesto panini is something I crave frequently!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mike G.Portland, OR025Apr 9, 2024
Drove downtown for breakfast at this place. Site said it was open, but it was not (Tuesday morning at 9a). Definitely call to confirm it's open. Hours posted aren't accurate.

I decided to stop in at Plate One's downtown location for breakfast this morning. I got the Vegan Blast and a Vegan Breakfast wrap by substituting tofu for the eggs, and getting vegan cheese. The Vegan Coffee Blast is a Frozen Drink with Coffee, Almond Milk, Soy Protein, Dry Peanut Butter, & Banana. I have never been to Plate One before and was pleasantly surprised with the vegan options! Everything was delicious, and the place had a really chill vibe! The staff were very friendly and helpful!

Visit this downtown Toledo gem - you won't regret it!!!Nov 2, 2020Previous reviewPlate One has re-opened! Hours are M-F, 7 am to 11 am, with a limited menu (for now).
Support local at this wonderful downtown coffee establishment! Plenty of parking, top shelf coffee, friendly staff, impressive decor, complete with Covid safety procedures in place.Oct 2, 2018Previous reviewPlate One has expanded its hours into the weekend!
Now open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturdays!Feb 6, 2018Previous reviewA Downtown Toledo sister location to South Toledo's Plate 21. Many of the same delicious coffee and pastry selections (love the pistachio muffins!) with additional food offerings and spirits!
Hours extend into the evening to allow for a bite to eat, caffine pick-me-up, or cocktail before downtown events.
No weekend hours, but hopefully those times are to be added at a later date.
Plate One is situated close to the Huntington Center, Valentine Theatre, SeaGate Convention Center, and Fifth Third Field. The downtown hotels are just a short walk to and from.
It is located on the ground level (Superior Street side) of the historic Ohio Building, occupying the former Sufficient Grounds and later Biggby Coffee space.
Street parking and a parking garage are adjacent.
The interior sports a clean, sleek contemporary look, while incorporating the historic building's terrazzo flooring.
A welcome addition to Downtown Toledo! - Aug 2, 2018
Impressed with the updated buildout. There is a serious re-investment that's taken place in a coffee house location that's been an institution for decades.
Also impressed with the cocktails. Sure, the coffee is great! But the cascara cocktail? Even better.
Staff is great. Product is great. Location is great. A+Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nallely C.Absecon, NJ066May 1, 2019
First timers. Cool vibe, will definitely come back. Good drinks n nice staff.
I forgot the name of the drink I got but it was a daiquiri with matcha and a berry mix. Really good.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jay C.Willard, OH584Apr 28, 2021
Very happy to be back at Plate One. The coffee served here (Madcap) is the best quality in Toledo. Staff was nice and helpful. Very comfortable, spread out environment. I look forward to their hours expanding back up! Right now they're only open 8-11

Just as cute and comfortable as everyone in the other reviews is saying. Staff is super nice and makes you feel welcome, and doesn't make you feel even the teensiest bit awkward for camping out there all day. Not a huge amount of seating but more than any other coffee shop nearby. Maybe I'm being too critical by comparing it to places back home. Also great outlet placement. As someone who is sort of a coffee snob and coffee shop connoisseur this place is def in my top for Toledo so far (still new here) I will be back again. And again. And again.
