Amazing tamales! Got both the red and green with pork, as well as a salsa and red chile sauce. Chips and flour tortillas too. Everything was delicious and very fresh! Definitely worth the 30 min drive from Lafayette. I went on a Saturday morning at 10 and had no problem getting everything I wanted. There is usually street parking very close as well.

Bought a dozen red pork chili tamales and they have no flavor, hardly any meat, mostly masa. Will not go back and I recommend do not buy their food. Very disappointed. I will stick to driving far too get better tasting tamales and empanadas.

I have loved this place for the past five years in which time I've seen the pricing go up drastically due to the gentrification of the neighborhood. I've had no problem with the price increases as the food has always been top notch. Over the past year I've only made it to Pochitos twice (Covid) and both times I've been disappointed. Each time there were price increases which I've been ok with but the food portions have really gone down, along with the heat. The food used to be crazy flavorful and spicy, I'd crave the spiciness regularly. Now, It's pretty bland. You used to get five enchiladas in one to go container, now you get three. It used to cost $4.25 for the barbacoa, which always contains some gristle but is always delicious, now it's $13 and to be honest, I'd like less gristle at that cost. I'm happy for the success of this place because historically the food was always great, and I am thoroughly disappointed with my pick up order today. I'm going to give it one more shot and hope that this specific batch of food is bland, but I'm certainly really missing the old Pochitos enchiladas and sauces A LOT. As someone else said, end of an era.

They'd make an absolute killing if they opened a restaurant. I CRAVE this place on a pretty regular basis. They have so much more than tortillas. Both the red and green enchiladas are amazing, the green chile salsa and chipotle salsa are incredible. All very spicy! My fiancé and I gush about how awesome the barbacoa, refried beans are rice are, neither of which I'd be able to replicate at home. The Enchiladas are made with CORN tortillas so they are GLUTEN FREE!!!!! Tortilla chips aren't greasy or over salted. Love love love this authentic hole in the wall!! Everything in the photo I posted was for $30 and we can eat off it for a week and then some - 6 enchiladas, green salsa, chipotle salsa, big bag of chips, beans, rice, slow cooked barbacoa. Service is always fast and friendly. The only thing I do after picking up take out is adding some homemade veggies to make it a little healthier :o) I'd love it if they added some fresh pico de gallo to their fridge!

I have bought tamales from Pochitos now for about three years very reliable, today very disappointed NO MEAT ALL MAZA I got the red chili tamales they should just call them red dye Tamales no taste no spice to them, 3 coworker and myself went down to buy a dozen each, stopped to try one for lunch, everyone had the same reaction just not good, I tried to give mine away no takers oh yeah the price went from $13.00 to $17.00 and
"NO MEAT" end of an era for me I wont be back. it almost looks like their taking advantage and price gouging all the newbies in the area, If your not from Colorado you wont get it, Pochitos had to of sold out under new management the food was that bad.....Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Annarose S.Denver, CO961026Jul 14, 2021
I've gotten two things here: packages of tortillas and containers of green chili. Both are excellent, but especially the tortillas!

No longer can say this is favorite place. After coming here for Christmas tamales for several years have found a new place. The tamales are still ok but are no longer as full as they used to be.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 28, 2017Previous reviewThe best tamales in Denver. Last year I waited in line for over two hours to get some right before Christmas. We had plenty and they froze well. So this year I wised up and went earlier and froze them ahead of time. Got both the red and green pork ones. I liked the red the most and my wife likes the green. We've made our own before but for this price and great taste we will stick to buying them here.
The tortillas and chips are great too. But I didn't buy the salsa again. Tried it the first time and it is beyond hot. Just about killed me on the exit. Won't be trying it in the future. - Jazmin H.Oakland, CA733240117Apr 16, 2021
For authentic Mexican tortilla, beans, salsa and tamales...this is the place!! Buy everything you're interested in because it's all good and probably won't cost much. A lot of their items use lard (pig fat) which is what makes it cheap and authentic. Don't skip the salsas.

If I could give this place another two stars I would. I've been searching for a place to buy tamales. I have tried the popular places in Denver for a while now, and today decided to give Pochitos a try, and boy I'm sure glad I did. For me, the search has ended lol. I got a dozen red and a half dozen green and cheese. First I must say they are huge! Bigger than the others I have tried. They are $14/dozen. The red are very meaty, spicy, and flavorful. The green are tasty you can taste the green chile, and cheese in these. I also bought some tortillas they taste homemade and are delicious. I had also a few apple empanadas they are so good this place is a must try. The place is clean which makes me happy.

Picked up some red pork tamales on Christmas Eve. Good flavor, no spice and puro masa. Also purchased some tortillas that were a weird and rubbery in texture.

I'm from San.Antonio and was missing homemade tortillas. I stumbled on this little place and finally found the real deal. Ignore any naysayers. They've never had real Mexican food. I am so thankful I found Pochitos!
