Walked in here when I was visiting Tombstone. The people who own it are people of few words, but are kind and very knowledgeable. I ordered a custom belt that required the base leather to be narrowed, stamped, and fitted with a new buckle. It was done within a day and for a reasonable price. It was a little too big for me so they punched a few more holes in it for free a week later. It is the most beautiful belt I've ever seen and it suits me perfectly! I cannot recommend this store enough.

In December we stopped by Poncho Vega's to look around. We were living in Tombstone at the time and wanted to check out the local businesses. Mike and Linda greeted us and they were cordial. We inquired about having Mike make a custom holster with a unique design: a patch of the 82nd Airborne embossed into the holster. He assured us he could do this without hesitation. He said he'd have no problem making the shoulder holster or the design. Mike said it wouldn't be ready until mid-January, which wasn't an issue. The cost was $425, which we felt was a fair price given it was going to be handmade and designed with a specific logo in mind.
We were surprised to get the call around the 10th saying it was finished. This was earlier than we expected. However our excitement about seeing the final product turned to disgust as we were profoundly disappointed and aggrieved when we saw the holster. It didn't look handmade. It looked like a lesser grade of leather was used. The shoulder straps were way thinner than we expected. It looked like Mike put the holster together from a kit. The worst part was the 82nd Airborne design. First off, the design was not painted. You could barely make out the logo design. If you look closely, you'll see the "82d" stamped instead of "82nd". Yes, the n is missing. The wings on each side of the AA are uneven. The right wing looks pretty good but the left wing is much smaller and it doesn't look properly done. There is also no strap to secure the gun into the holster. We can't believe this is what we paid $425 for, especially since when you view the holsters he has hanging in the store and posted online, they look far superior. We're not sure if Mike rushed to do ours, misrepresented what he could accomplish, focused on other orders or some combination of each. We will not purchase from this business again.

Poncho Vega's puts the POP in the Mom n Pop store. Located a street down from the O.K. Corral (and a block off of the main drag) the store offers everything from dolls and dreamcatchers to saddles and six-shooters (some real old-time guns, some replicas).

It's meat-and-potatoes is in its name: guns and cowboy leather. There are an abundance of rifles and rifle accessories, as well as plenty of the aforementioned guns. While the cowboy leather isn't as abundant, the prices on what they have are much lower (and of a higher quality) than those in the touristy part of Tombstone.

Saddle up and ride! And if you don't have a saddle, Poncho Vega's can hook you up!

Very nice shop, well stocked. I especially liked the selection of cast iron and lodge items if you need to pick up something to cook. Very nicely made holsters and other leather goods as well.

Was looking forward to buying a gun belt and holster. They were rude and leather looked cheap compaired to what they were asking for them. Its a tourist trap, if you want a touristy souvenir that's over priced then this is the place for you.

I feel like I just got lucky finding the shop . I had recently bought a Henry's Mares leg .45 and had a scubbard made in Texas for it so I could carry it on my Indian Chieftain and my Polaris side by side . I seen Poncho Vega's gun & cowboy leather and thought Eureka maybe they can turn this scubbard into a belt so I can wear the pistol on my back .... Eureka , I walked into the shop in back and met Mike Vega working on a belt , I didn't want to bother him because he was in the middle of making a belt but he stopped and he said he could fix me up . I left it with him as I was going to Bisbee for the day and night . I returned the next day ( Thanksgiving ) mike had made me just what I had ask for and even put a place on the belt for 8 cartridges... I was so excited I could hardly stand it . He made it and it was perfect until I put the pistol on my back, it was a little heavy and not very comfortable . So between mike and I and his wife we figured it out , I returned a couple of hours later and he added a clip that I could fasten to my belt loop on my pants . Then he did something fancy to the strap that was part of my scubbard to make it 100% cool and comfortable . Great people and I'm so happy that I stopped in ... very cool guns for sale and nice western wear also .
