These negative reviews are NOT it. We just checked in and this place is gorgeous. The staff (especially Kito and the pups) is so kind and hospitable. The room is incredible, I could live here. Great sized kitchen, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed, amazing AC. I wish we were staying longer!! Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to stay-I spent a night here on my way through town and it was clean, cozy, and quiet. I don't think I have ever stayed somewhere this clean!! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and lent me an umbrella when it was snowing out. The lobby has hot drinks and lots of snacks and is a nice place to sit and relax. It is also a 5-10 min walk from the downtown. If I am ever back in Santa Fe I will be staying here again for sure!!

The pros- super comfortable bed, friendly staff, love the charm of old Santa Fe in the buildings.

The cons- The Inn is under a major renovation and construction started in the room across the hall before 8 AM. Power tools and numerous men talking.
We were told we would be the first guests in this newly renovated room. Check-in according to all of our emails was at 2 PM. When we arrived we were told check in had been pushed to 3PM Our room wasn't ready until 3:15 because they hadn't finished it yet. The paint fumes were horrendous. There were definitely areas that hadn't been finished. There was garbage left in cabinets. The bathroom door doesn't close! The lock fell off the door. There were holes in the floor.
The breakfast was from 8-10 AM. At 930 there was no coffee left and one bagel. They made another pot of coffee for us but if you serve til 10 there should be food and drinks available til 10.
I think this place needs a few more months to get things smoothed out. Although we selected which room we wanted during the booking process, they should have communicated to us that it wouldn't be ready and then offered to move us.

I don't like to post negative reviews but Pueblo Bonito did not meet my expectations. The location is good, within walking distance of the shops in the downtown square and other places to eat. The young lady, Destiny, that checked us in was nice. She told us that they were changing their name to Billy's Hideaway.
However, the room and breakfast left us disappointed. We stayed in room 12 for 3 nights. The bed was so soft that I found it difficult to sleep and there was some kind of chemical-like odor coming from somewhere. The breakfast left us wanting...tamales that were overcooked into a mush and the coffee so bad that I couldn't finish it. There was fruit that was good and some other American breakfast options that I did not eat. Other reviews said there was a homemade green chile stew, but I didn't see any of that. We ended up eating breakfast out the next two days.
The room did have a refrigerator which was nice, but the room missed the mark by having no comfortable seating and there were no USB ports available, which is really a requirement these days.

We stay;ed here in August and we're delighted. We loved the rich history and the great owners who were so very helpful and accommodating. Wonderful location for everything SantaFe including the opera. We have recommended it to others,
In December we decided to meet a friend in SantaFe for a couple of days so we booked a specific room as was always encouraged by the previous ownership. We booked a King Bed room in the main building.
This past weekend we arrived for our planned visit first to learn that the place had been sold and the ownership was no longer on-site involved. We were shown to our room in the old stable, where we not have chosen to stay. The bed was a queen size bed of mediocre quality with some sort of a mattress topper. It was pushed against one wall so the second person could not get out on that side. The bathroom was so tight that there was not room for long legs between the toilet and the tub.
I learned that they are remodeling the main building but it was unclear what the remodel consists of. Thus the rooms we carefully chose were not available.
I had made the reservation three months in advance and the management had my entire contact information. WHY NO CONTACT??? We are 80 years old and don't have the flexibility in our life or our body to be greeted by surprises.
I am very skeptical if the charm can remain for Pueblo Bonito without on-site manager/owners.
The breakfast seemed to lack much in the way of innovative small touches.

The hotel does not look as pictured at all anymore. The photos on the site show lots of unique decor, beautiful wood beams, brick and concrete floors. In reality, the ceilings were painted fully white so the beams looked like piping in a basement as opposed to exposed wood beams. The floors were re-painted solid black to really add to that basement feel. There was minimal furniture and decor in the room and the boutique bed and breakfast feel was completely gone. Looks like they replaced the desk with an ikea one. The bathrooms were clearly not pictured on purpose as our bathroom had no door, it was just a toilet at the end of a hallway. Everything functioned just fine but we picked this hotel based on the photos, and expected to get a quaint, Santa Fe feel when we arrived and it genuinely felt like a poorly decorated basement. We also woke up to the sounds of drilling out side outlet door each morning due to renovations.

We stayed in the Taos room for our anniversary. The owner was very welcoming and gave us the history of the Inn and a small tour at check-in. Our breakfast consisted of red chili tamales, fruit bowls, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs and cookies that were placed in our fridge prior to arriving. The room was very clean and well-kept. Our stay felt very private and quiet. We were very happy with our experience and would love to return during the winter months to try out the adorable fireplace!

Excellent place to stay - walking distance to downtown, beautiful room, fascinating building built in 1869, very accommodating owners and a delicious breakfast in the fridge for morning. We'll be back for sure.

My experience was underwhelming and overpriced to say the least. The owner was rude when I called to book the room which should have been a red flag. I am a huge believer in supporting small businesses but this place is a sham. It's also a dump. Yeah- maybe it was worth $200/night in 1999. It's 2021- and this place needs a serious MAKEOVER. This place is not worth $200 a night. It's incredibly old. It probably hasn't even seen a fresh coat of paint in at least twenty years. The microwave in your room is also 20+ years old. I have stayed in better looking hostels than this bed and breakfast. The owners are taking advantage of travelers and overcharging. This is not a "charming" bed and breakfast that happens to be "historic"- it's just literally run-down. There is a HUGE difference. I've traveled to 42/50 US States and I always prefer to stay in historic buildings because they tend to be charming and cozy when they are well maintained--- but the Pueblo Bonito Inn is NOT.

I found 3 long black hairs in the shower. So clearly, no one bothered to clean the shower prior to my arrival.

Also, after a 12 hour drive the last thing I wanted to do at midnight is try and find parking... or literally make a makeshift parking spot in the driveway because a pick up truck decided to take up 3 parking spaces in the back.

I might add- that I booked this room based on recent reviews saying breakfast was left in the fridge in the room- only to find out that that policy had changed and they are now serving breakfast buffet style.

      AVOID AT ALL COST.
