Great boba milk tea! Large selection. Milk tea places are one of the things we look for when we're in a new area. This hit the spot, there's 2 self order/pay kiosk inside. Poke bowl was really good and fresh, really recommend. The inside was huge plenty of seating, sofa, tables board games for hanging out. Happy tummy!

There are some differences between drinks here on my second visit that warranted a second look. I went to R&B again and got the Jasmine Milk Tea and Purple Haze - both of which weren't nearly as good as what I got the previous visit.
Jasmine Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sugar w/ Boba ($6) - This milk tea was almost powdery and had a artificial chemically jasmine taste like this was made with poorer quality powder. The sweetness was too much at 50% in this drink (even though 50% sweetness was perfect in the milk tea drink I got last time). The boba texture, at least was the same as last time.
Purple Haze 75% Sweet ($5.75) - This was the exact same order as last time but somehow it was way too sweet this time. At least the construction was the same, so it still had a good taro ube mix.
I wonder if the fact that the owner was in the shop during the last visit had to do with the better quality. To be honest, if I had to rate this visit in a vacuum, it would be a 3, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with a 4.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 7, 2023Previous reviewR&B is a surprisingly good boba place in Toledo. They also have some bakery items like cookies and muffins, and what seems like a steady line of people getting poke. We stopped in while driving through Toledo to get drinks:
R&B Original Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/Boba ($6) - 50% was perfect sweetness for this drink. The tea tasted like a classic Taiwanese black tea (the Leafhopper variety). The boba is one of a larger types and the texture was surprisingly quite good. It was a bit lumpy, but the chew was on point, maybe only just a tad on the harder side. Nothing much else to say - this was a good drink in general.
Purple Haze 75% Sweet ($5.75) - It's a rarity in the Midwest for a boba place to have fresh mashed taro or ube in a drink, rather than from powder. R&B has both in the same drink! While you're drinking, you get small slivers of taro and ube mixed in the drink. Yum! There's also a nice cheese foam layer on top. I would definitely get this again.
Both drinks are very affordable - cheaper than most other boba places. R&B is between a 4 and 5 for me which I will round up to 5. - 27021932Aug 22, 2023
Pretty good bubble tea. Open later than almost anything else around so if you're craving something caffeinated, this is probably your best bet. Not excessively sweet, generous portions.
Something just felt missing, I can't place what. I wanted to like it more than I did but I've had better, honestly.
I'll probably be back, I'd like to try the other flavors and hopefully add a star to my review, because the staff was so kind.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 9, 2022
Came here for boba and a poke while I studied and I enjoyed my experience! I thought the tea was perfect and the poke bowl was exactly why I ordered. They have a ton of toppings / flavors (for both the teas and poke bowls) which I appreciated! I love the fruit teas but friends of mine got the milk tea and loved it! You can get a poke bowl or a sushi burrito. They also have some pastries and onigiri .
Can't wait to come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 97299510Aug 6, 2022
Drinks do take a while, prob due to staff levels. There are plenty of super comfy places to sit and wait and board games to play to pass the time! They even have outlets by the window all along the wall, so post up with your laptop and write that screenplay, haha! Also saw karaoke set up. No info about when they offer that, so maybe it's any time! Nobody was doing it when we went.
I got the R&B Original with regular boba and caramel pudding, 25% sweet. The pudding was good, but less eggy than other places and with just a hint of sweetness. The boba was well cooked, but not as flavorful as other places. The tea itself was fine but nothing to write home about. What I do really appreciate is that they use real milk, not the powder. The powdered is great if you're lactose intolerant or otherwise dairy-averse, but I personally prefer a real milk.
My cohort got the Mocha Coffee Slush/blended, also w boba and pudding, but they forgot his boba. He ordered regular sweetness, but it tasted very unsweetened when he got it, maybe due to having not put the boba in, which adds a lot of sweetness. We went back up and had them add the boba and it was better, but the hot boba melted the slush, so.... We might have to try that again from scratch some day. The boba was nice & chewy.
Staff was nice, accommodating and quick to fix the drink when we asked. I appreciate that this place is independent, not a chain, which is rare in Toledo. I like supporting that. I hear their food is good so will update if we ever get a chance to try that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Grace W.TN, TN01Feb 2, 2024
I hate to criticize small business, but I have to warn people. The food taste old and that's not what you want when you're eating raw fish. The rice is mushy and everything taste not fresh. The place smells when you walk in like a basement and it's overall dirty. The staff was very unprofessional. It took the girl 10min to make a bowl for me because she was talking to her co workers about her dating life. I wasted $15 because it genuinely scares me to eat this food.

I've made a review of this place before.
The food is always good.
The ambience isn't good for me but it might be for someone else. It's very childish. It doesn't feel warm, comfortable or clean in a certain way. Not that it's unhealthy dirty. Just... it's sticky and the furniture looks like it was found on the curb somewhere. It's perfect for college aged people probably.
The service is sloooooow. And they never really great their patrons in a way that I would consider appropriate. They're not rude or anything. But they really don't greet people when they get in the pot or up to the register even to say I'll be right with you. They often have their hands full. They don't seem to work especially hard or fast to catch up on orders. At the same time they don't seem lazy. They are consistently working. There's just no sense of urgency in any way. I can handle the slow speed more than I can handle just standing around without being greeted. I wish someone would say hello and let me know that they'll get with me when they're able. It seems like good manners and classic social etiquette.
I'm making this updated review in hopes that someone will realize that this service aspect hasn't changed and realize maybe it should. I'd spend more money here if I didn't dislike the process of ordering so much.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 9, 2022Previous reviewThe food here is fantastic. Try the sushi burrito. My issue is the customer service. To be clear, it's not that the staff isn't friendly, it's just that they're genuinely bad at customer service. The communication is poor and inconsistent. It seems that some of the dishes they create require time and skill. I can appreciate that. So they tend to be busy. But basic staples of customer service such as saying "we'll be with you shortly" or "sorry for your wait, how can I help you" do not exist here. Just recently my wife wanted some food from this location and I just couldn't stand the thought of going there because I knew I'd be standing in purgatory for 10-15 minutes, potentially, without acknowledgement. The last time I was there my order was made and was sitting at the front desk for some time before it was clearly communicated to me that my order was ready. It was a waste of my time and patience. If you have all day, this is the place for you. The food is really good. They just need trained.

4 stars for milk tea alone. It makes me happy if the milk tea place lets you adjust your drink's sugar level. I got Matcha w/ tapioca boba 4 star for me. Bf got kiwi fruit tea w/ tapioca boba (I am not a fan of fruit teas, but this one is a 5 star for me.) I got a lavender milk tea for later too.
Place is good. A nice hangout place. You can do ktv too if you're into that. The food menu looks delicious. Definitely would come back (my Bf took it as a mission to make me try bubble teas around Toledo. )
I got no pictures of our drink tho. We have at it the moment she called out our order. LolHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kelsey S.Toledo, OH713555Jun 12, 2022
Delicious bubble tea. Poke bowl and burritos were delicious and fresh. Only downside was my Thai tea was supposed to have pudding and there wasn't much in it. But flavor was great
