RSIB rocks KW time and time again. I could really go on and on and on but this Petronia Street Gem finds all the right ingredients to satisfy. Deviled Eggs with pan seared Scallops, Grilled Ceaser Salad and Beef Stroganoff all hit the pallet perfectly, finish with Key Lime Pie.
We share it all and the food is delicious, and the final bill is reasonable considering you are eating at the one of the best KW restaurants.
Add excellent and fun service in a Bistro atmosphere and it will be hard to go home without visiting a 2nd time, even if you are there only a week.

We have been coming to this restaurant for about 5 years and have eaten here multiple times. Coming back this year we were excited to visit and found some new additions to the menu to be too interesting to pass up. For appetizers we tried the Baked Key West Shrimp with Lobster which was plate licking delicious and the Lobster Profiteroles in which the lobster reminded my wife and myself of vacations in Maine.
For our entree I tried the Key West Pink Shrimp in Red Chili Pepper Sauce which was perfectly prepared extra spicy at my request. Absolute flavor explosions with this dish. One of my favorite restaurant dishes on this planet is their Seafood Medley. I now have two favorite dishes. My wife got Stuffed Poblano's with Key West Pink Shrimp which were perfectly prepared and delicious, too.
For dessert we both had the Lavender Cheesecake which by itself is worth the flight from Kentucky.
When you come here you are warmly welcomed and treated as family. As far as we are concerned it is a have to visit if you are in Key West.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks guys you made our night special!!!
Apr 8, 2021Previous reviewWe had done a great deal of research for our Key West trip before leaving Kentucky. None of my research prepared me for how good this incredible restaurant is. My wife and I were pleased from start to finish. We started with both the coconut shrimp and also with the shrimp in butter and garlic. Two different approaches, but both perfectly cooked and both fresh and delicious. We then split a salad comprised of greens, Gorgonzola, walnuts, and pears. It was amazing. When our entrees came, I did not think things could get any better. I was wrong. My wife got the mutton snapper and shrimp with asparagus and risotto. It was superb. I ordered the seafood linguine with mussels, scallops, and shrimp with a tomato cream sauce. It was Perfect. It is in the running for choice of last meal; it was that good. For dessert we got the key lime pie and the Apple strudel. The service was outstanding and we were made to feel like one of the regulars. Don't miss this great restaurant if you find yourself in Key West.

I have passed red Shoe Island Bistro many times and finally dined there twice this month. It is SO good. My five star rating covers the ambiance, service and outstanding quality of food. Two seatings are offered for diners at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Two hours is plenty of time to enjoy a fantastic meal at Red Island Island Bistro. The earlier seating fills up fast. There are four seats at the bar, which provide excellent service with Simon and Susie. If the time you wish to dine is not available, do ask if the bar seats are open. These seats are open for walk-in customers. Patrons line up on the sidewalk and are escorted to their tables. Red Shoe has no full bar, but wine and beer selections are abundant.
The starter menu features deviled eggs with scallops, a surprising combination of deliciousness. The shrimp toast is equally as tasty. Each has four pieces.
Because our entrees were so delicious we ordered the same items both visits. The yellow tail snapper is perfectly grilled, and the stroganoff had my dining partner tempted to lick the plate. The lavender cheesecake is something special. The texture and taste is lighter than traditional cheesecake, with outstanding presentation and flavor.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We walked in and immediately knew we had made a great choice in dining here. The server, Sebastian was amazing and answered any and all questions we had.
We ordered the lobster profiteroles, warm Caesar salad, yellowtail snapper and fish of the day, which was Black Grouper. We cleaned our plates and that is something I rarely do. We loved it all that we also ordered both deserts, the key lime out and the cheesecake (both perfection).
The ambiance was perfect.....a bustling, intimate restaurant inside with a few small tables for outdoor dining.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Intimate welcoming eatery with superb food, friendly down to earth service and a cool David Bowie theme, Red Show Island Bistro ticks all of the boxes for a truly memorable dining experience.
Our server Vic suggested the shrimp mango toast appetizer, a perfect mixture of heat, fruit and fresh local pink shrimp. Loved it! I'm not a beef stroganoff connoisseur by any means, in fact this was probably my first time having that dish. Prime steak tips in tasty brown gravy with a hint of sour cream resting on fresh egg noodles - fantastic, I'd love to have it again! Yellowtail snapper was fresh and enhanced by a creamy piquant sauce, greatly enjoyed by my partner who usually avoids fish at all costs. The highlight of this feast (for me) was the lavender cheesecake, a colorful creamy slab of deliciousness with just the right amount of sweetness.
Deets: This place is popular so make reservations at least a few days before your desired date. They currently offer 2 seatings per evening (6:00 and 8:00), and the line was already out the door when we arrived at 5:50.Helpful 22Thanks 4Love this 21Oh no 0Business owner information

This small yet sophisticated restaurant serves a wonderful selection of entrees in a "European"-sized portion not your typical oversized American plate so go ahead and share an appetizer. Dinner consisted of their signature yellowtail snapper over risotto dusted with Parmesan and served with asparagus spears in a white light cream sauce. It was seasoned perfectly and a pretty plate besides. I was so anxious to try it I forgot to snap a picture. Dessert... definitely have the key lime which had a zesty citrus flavor not overly sweet and served with fresh whipped cream. The service was excellent and staff attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about the meals. The picture on the wall of David Bowie implies a connection to the name "the red shoe" and you may find several waiters sporting them.

Fantastic meal. Friendly service and very attentive. We had the mango toast appetizer and it was a flavor explosion that was just magnificent. Hubs had the beef stroganoff and I had the catch of the day. Not a bite was left. The restaurant is clean and cute as well! You will not be disappointed.

Everything was amazing, the service, the food, the ambience. We loved it so much, we came back for a second night in a row!! Came here on a Friday night around 6:30, and all of the inside tables were already taken. The restaurant has two seatings a night (for the inside tables). One seating is at 6pm, the next at 8pm. There was 5 tables outside first come first serve, so we snagged one of those. Everything we ate was amazing. They had great wine recommendations as well. We finished the night with their key lime pie, which has won the key west key lime pie contest for the past 2 years in a row. The restaurant has only entered the contest for two years, and won both years. Don't skip the key lime pie! Amazing experience. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Key west.

Wow - sometimes life throws you a curve and you whiff...and there's other times you hit it out of the park. My wife and I were scheduled to have dinner up the street when she got a call there was a kitchen fire and they had to close for the night.... So we took a left and walked in the Red Shoe for dinner - and hit it out of the park!
The service - was excellent. Very attentive from our waiter to the owner, genuinely good people who wanted to make sure we liked what we had and wanted for nothing.
Wine list - the red selection was stocked well. If I am being honest, the whites were light, but we found a nice Spanish white.
The food - amazing. My wife had the seafood medley with shrimp and scallops (she's not a fan of mussels), and she loved it. I went for the catch of the day, served open on an arepa and it was amazing. Fresh grouper and shrimp. Loved it.
Lastly - the key lime pie was epic - probably the best on the island. Loved it - and neither my wife or I are huge key lime pie fans.
All in all - great night with amazing food and super nice, genuine people.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1Business owner information
