Q:
Anyone had unit moved from the garage to the attic? was the unit secured to attic joists or rafters? noticeable noise from the attic? an inspection of the install? A pressure test for the efficiency of the ducts?
A:
Hi George, Yes, it is possible to move the unit to the attic. Most often we build a platform and secure furnace/airhandler to it. Noise level - very low, but keep in mind location of new return register (you… more

Used them 4 years ago to replace one of two compressors and just used them again to replace the other one. Very competent and responsive and priced fairly. I would call them again and recommend them highly.

Reliable Enterprises replaced my HVAC unit recently, and it has been working great. After this I was trying to find replacement air filters for the custom installation I needed, and couldn't find the required size anywhere. (The size I need for my installation aren't a common size, and they cannot be found in most hardware stores, even on their Websites.) As a last resort, I called Reliable and explained my problem. Not only did they tell me where to find the air filters I needed (not them!), but they also delivered two new filters of the required size within a couple of days, free of charge! I doubt I would have received this quality of service after a major installation from many other HVAC businesses. Well done!
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Sep 21, 2019Previous reviewMy HVAC went down during a weekend. I called several HVAC companies on Monday morning to get diagnostic quotes from them. I was able to book an appointment with Reliable Enterprises in the least amount of time (two days for Reliable; I would have to wait a week or more for others), and they were the only company that wouldn't charge me a dime for the diagnostic! (Other companies charged $59 to $129, but most would put this fee toward repair or replacement costs.)
The diagnostician arrived within the appointment time frame and looked over my HVAC system thoroughly, and wasn't overly impressed with its quality. (I knew the previous system was little more than a piece of junk, so that checked out.) He found the problem in the heat pump, and said he could fix it--but the entire unit would not last long, so a repair would merely be a bandage on a cancerous growth. As a result, I elected to get it replaced.
He gave me a quote for the entire project, which ran about $10k for a two-ton unit. They gave me a senior (55+) discount, so the amount was reduced to $9k. The new programmable thermostat was free with the other work. He said he could get someone out to replace everything in an hour or two, and that it would take four or five hours to complete. Given the diagnostician's promises and their five-star Yelp! review, I decided to have them do the work.
The replacement crew arrived within two hours as promised and went to work. They apparently received a wrong part for the installation and had to order a new one, and they had some other problems, so the installation actually took about nine hours, or twice as long as they said it would take. Also, they made some alterations to make certain parts fit that I never authorized, like cutting out a piece of wall and baseboard to replace the intake vent. It looks okay, I guess, but it doesn't look as nice as it did before the work, and I would have appreciated a consultation before the alterations were made.
The new HVAC unit works great, though it is noticeably noisier than the previous unit. I have not received my latest electric bill in the mail yet, so as of this typing I cannot say how my electricity usage has changed. In general, I approve of the work they did, and would recommend them to others who may need HVAC work done. Just watch the installation crew carefully, though, or you may find cosmetic and other changes you weren't expecting. - Marcus D.Laguna Niguel, CA104347Sep 15, 2018Updated review
Great service over email and phone. No pressure and was able to offer meaningful and affordable solutions. I really appreciated the patience then the urgency to install the furnace and cquickly. The installers were great and all for under 7000. A great deal we are enjoying.
Really happy with the NEST they offered at better than retail. This whole investment paid off with our hot summer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 7, 2018Previous reviewGreat service over email and phone. Out hot water heater went out on us on a Sunday morning and I called a few plumbing companies to come fix it. They were all booked up for three or four days. With a little one in the house,we couldn't wait that long so we called Palomar Plumbing. Javier was at our home to fix the problem within an hour of my call! He was so helpful! He and his son were such a pleasant presence and they got our hot water working within minutes. I am so happy we found them! I would absolutely recommend calling them for any plumbing issues! Thanks,Javier! You're the best!

I want to give kudos to Michael who took the time to fix the problem of my Thermostat. Reliable installed my Trane HVAC in 2017 and I have used their cleaning services recently after home renovations. They're techs are prompt, very professional, thorough and friendly. I strongly recommend them for any HVAC install and or services.

My AC broke during the hottest day of our San Diego heat wave. Got a scheduled tech to come out first thing next day. Technician Paul was prompt, knowledgeable and provided peace of mind when it came to troubleshooting our system and future purchase. Will definitely recommend to future customers in need of HVAC assistance. Thank you Paul!

Alex and his company, Reliable Enterprises installed a new air conditioning system at my older condo in La Costa. It really made the place much more comfortable. The owner of company also added a new nest thermostat complimentary with his bid :). The thermostat and being able to control from your phone really allow your home to be more energy efficient. Alex was able to have his guys come out right away and install. All super professional through out the quick and seamless process.
5 stars all the way!...
Then, one evening at a different property we own, that has a more modern air conditioner, the furnace had trouble due to some electrical wiring issues. At the time, I wasn't sure what it was, but I text the owner, Alex, recalling the good experience from last install. I asked if they could have someone come out and look at it. Alex personally stopped by within 45 min because he was in the area and personally fixed a completely different houses AC issue for me! He patiently handled the wiring issue, climbing into attic, changing transmitter, installed a new thermostat, and at the end did not want any payment for his services. I am shocked by the kindness. You deserve 10 stars++ I highly recommend this company. Thank you so much!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brianne E.San Diego, CA06Aug 18, 2019
I purchased my AC 4 years ago through Lowe's. When I attempted to turn it on this summer, the AC unit just kept shutting off. I contacted Lowe's and they told me they only cover problems for 1 year and referred me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer told me I had to use one of their approved representatives to assess the issue. The representative repair company was at my house for 2 hrs before he could figure out how to open a lock on the unit. Then he told me my refrigerant had run flat. Essentially, telling me I had a massive leak in the system. He quoted me $1200 for repairs and refrigerant. After 1 month of trying to contact the manufacturer and a total of 3 1/2 hours on hold, I finally spoke to a representative who told me the testing of my AC unit wasn't covered or the cost of refrigerant (which is also pretty expensive) I was very frustrated w/ the lack of accountability and service.
I finally decided to contact Reliable. I spoke w/ Alex who was very sympathetic to what we were going through. He sent Steven out that day (on a Saturday) to assess and help. He opened the lock in a few seconds and explained my refrigerant was not flat (depleted). It was half full and the installers never filled it properly. Just to make sure there was no leak, he tested the system 3 times. They replaced a cracked drip pan, filled my refrigerant, and adjusted our air flow to be quieter and more efficient. They were quick to respond to calls, showed up on time, and were very professional. They were also clean, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's not easy to find honest, hard working, and competent contractors these days. This whole experience was very humbling. Reliable was true to their name. I honestly don't know what we would have done without them. I suspect the cost of repairs might have been hundreds if not thousands if we had used another company. Reliable is truly amazingHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
