Love this place! They have a wonderful selection of kitchen equipment and supplies. My only gripe is the close to early on Saturday.

The prices are pretty expensive, which is something you could debate because they claim to have higher quality than other suppliers, such as webstaurant. But the price difference is quite significant. I try to buy local, buy from your neighbors. So I decided maybe I could suck up the prices but besides one guy, the service was pretty terrible. I went in with a couple of others, a guy asked my friend if they needed help, they said no and figured the paper sheets would be in aisle next to the baskets but it wasn't, casually said, actually, I do need some help. The employee exclaims, " I just asked you for help!" Turns to his coworker, "do you have people ask for help 12 seconds after you asked them??" And then answered their question, "No, we don't have anything disposable."
The one nice dude in the store, wish I caught his name, found some in a random spot, didn't know the price. An older gentleman helps us check out, there's no screen to show you what you're being rung up for, and has to look for the paper sheets price because it doesn't ring up. Says it's $124 for 1000 sheets (he even said they were on sale, to boot). We ask why it's that price, he says that's what it costs. For reference, webstaurant cost $23/1000 sheets, $95/5000. Leave and see I got charged for extra items. Not a good experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 22, 2021
I just came in here to browse. Lots of primarily industrial equipment, but plenty of items suitable for the home cook as well. Decent knife selection, but nothing fancy. Definitely cheaper than the knives from Sur La Table, albeit far less artisan.
About a thousand different types of food thermometers, which was the main reason I came in. I'm all about digital, waterproof thermometers, and I spend a good 20 minutes comparing those.
Service, which seems to be everyone's major gripe here, was fine. The same people asked me at least three times if I needed help finding anything. No complaints there. They probably thought I was going to steal something since I was in the same two aisles for 45 minutes. Lol
They have nearly everything. Their dish ware was fairly mediocre, so if you need china then you might look elsewhere. Overall, no gripes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2021
I drive by this shop often and wanted to go in but never had a chance until last week. I had a list of kitchen tools I needed, so with that in my hand I walked in. Wow, talk about a selection. I was particularly amazed by the appliance section. But, there's a big but, they are all catered for.... wait for it.... restaurants! DUH!
So, even for things like non-stick frying pans, there are the industrial kind, good ones, but not Circulons. Definitely not a place to shop for a compost pail. For silicon spatulas, sure there are many kinds but they are not Oxos. Unfortunately I grabbed a spatula that was broken ($11) but I only found it when I got home. My fault for not checking, and I'm not going back for an exchange... Not sure why, even with a kind-enough person who rang up my purchase, it wasn't a fun shopping experience. Just OK. Again, I thing it's a great resource if you owned a restaurant, so I'm still giving a four star. The ginormous mixer dough hooks were fun to see!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rebecca H.Anderson, CA09Mar 23, 2023
We have been coming here for 20 years and we always look forward into coming by when in Reno. As soon as we walk in Q greets us with a warm welcome and he has great customer service. The store is well organized and very clean. Whatever we need they have it or order it for us and send right to out Business that is in California.

Everything cooking mostly for professionals but for the every day cook like me this is almost heaven. Almost every product you could want at reasonable prices and certainly food service quality.
I bought a chef had and apron but they literally have just about every cooking utensil you could want or need from top named brands.
Only open during the work week, worth a look see if you want to see stuff up close or wondering about a certain product. Staff was very helpful.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Deanna G.Newport Coast, Newport Coast, CA018Oct 15, 2022

This place reminds me of Disneyland, and if I were a chef I think it would even be worse....
Great variety, nice people, plenty of parking (once you know where it is), and some tough decisions.
For example, they had BOOS Brother cutting boards on sale, and I thought there would be a better deal on-line, but it wasn't true. The price here was cheaper and I could have taken it home.....when will I learn.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Thomas,
Thank you for the lovely review, I think they are pretty nice people too. BOOS is a local company! That is part of why we are able to give it to you at such a great price. Thanks, See you soon! - 13125133Apr 27, 2021
Horrible customer service. I went in today looking for two very simple things. The store is huge and organized in an extremely chaotic manner (you would think similar types of supplies would be located together but there really is no order to how things are laid out so unless you're a regular you're going to have a hard time finding things on your own).
So of course I look for an employee. There was one younger man helping customers check out and one older man behind a counter who was talking to someone. I figured the person the older man was talking to was a customer and didn't want to interrupt so I made a few laps around. These two men were still talking a while later and their conversation was about something super irrelevant and casual so I figured the guy was just a friend/co-worker so I politely stand at a distance and wait until the man behind the counter sees me and is able to help. I ask for assistance and the man was super annoyed and rude and when I asked for stainless steel baking sheets the man sighs and goes "I don't know, the baking sheets are RIGHT THERE. I'm with a customer". The guy he was talking to clearly was not just a regular customer, and if he was he had been talking to this customer about casual personal plans for a good 10+ minutes. I also asked for STEEL baking sheets. Obviously I could see the ALUMINUM baking sheets right in front of me so this man clearly wasn't even listening to what I was asking for and decided to be rude anyway.
A friend recommended coming to a restaurant supply store for the supplies I needed but this place is awful. I know many businesses use this place out of necessity as I believe it's one of the only stores like this in town. I really hope another chain or store opens up because this place does not deserve the business!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2016
I love this store. They have such a wonderful diverse products for cooks, bakers, and restaurant owners.
There are so many things here I will try to give you a small over view. They have great deals on double door refrigerators and freezers. If you have room for this type of appliance you could pick up a great deal here. They have tons of different sizes of plates, cups, saucers, glasses, creamers, bakers dishes, pot, pans. Oh me, oh my what a lot of things they sale. You better just check it out for yourself.
You don't have to own a restaurant or a business to shop at this store. Anyone can come in and shop here.
I didn't even have anything I was looking for. But I did decide that if I get a huge turkey next year I am coming here to get some kind of container to brine my turkey in. They had a ton of different sizes as well as shapes.
Suffice it to say this is just a fun store to window shop!!
Love, LOVE THIS STORE!!!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Business owner information
