After traveling for 5 hours we needed a bite of real food and decided to visit this place , the food there is very well seasoned and served hot .. service is also really good , they are very helpful and know the menu very well .
The vibe in the place was a bit dry , not really a fun atmosphere. Would definitely go back for the food and service , but the whole vibe of the place needs some help .Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 13, 2022
I would skip the stuffed scallops and dive into the paella marinera. The paella marinera could be for 2 servings (at least what we ordered was for me and my SO). The shellfish had sand and probably had half a baby lobster. So the food was good I just wish there was more seafood and clean seafood. We didn't enjoy the coffee rincón style unless you like your coffee with liquor and cream- not for me but at least I tried it. What I enjoyed the most was the orange sorbet and cappuccino. Buen provecho!

My family and I often go here and the food is really great! We usually come here to eat as a family or for celebrations!
They serve potato's that are legit crack.. I eat them crazy! But all the food served here is really great! Service is always amazing!
I've been eating here for years and the quality of the food just gets better and better!

I recently came here with my girlfriend and two other couples, to celebrate someone's birthday. This is a very nice place. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Once we were all seated, we started out ordering some drinks. I really enjoyed the red sangria. That seemed to be a big hit for the table; but other lived their mixed drinks they ordered. For our meals, we ordered the paella and filet mignon, and decided to split them both. The paella was excellent. The seafood was very fresh of course and everything just blended together great. The filet mignon steak was pretty tasty as well. They provide you with plenty of sides with your meals, so the food portions are quite large when you factor this in. We had some food left over that we took home to enjoy the next day. To end the night there, we tried the lemon sherbert dessert, and this was a nice refreshing choice. Overall, this place has great food, and we all really enjoyed ourselves hanging out here.

I don't know what's in the rice, but if someone told me it's crack, I'd believe it. The stuff is addictive as all get-out.
Had the chicken al rincon and it was fantastic. Highly, highly recommend that, the above-mentioned rice, and because carbs are king, a side of potato chips/fries.
Portions are huge, service is solid. It's worth the trip.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David B.Berkeley Heights, NJ71518545Oct 6, 2016Updated review
Eight out of ten messages I receive through Yelp are unpleasant. How can you like that place? You must be out of your mind! How could you NOT like this place? A message I received the other day did nothing to change this reality. I was chatting with my son about where to go on our next birding adventure and more importantly, where to eat. We decided to go to the Ocean Terminal in Bayonne and then Rincon de Espana for dinner. In a truly weird coincidence, my phone alerted me to an incoming email. Great, another Yelp message. What now?
How can you like Rincon de Espana, the Yelper inquired. You like frozen vegetables and reconstituted potatoes? Go to Newark and learn what real food tastes like. So we went to Rincon anyway.
A friendly welcome, a half pitcher of white sangria and some chorizo got things off to a nice start. My son had the special two pound sirloin steak-medium rare. I had the veal in almond sauce. Yellow rice. Spanish potatoes. Everything was delicious. The steak was grilled to order, the veal was tender and potatoes were crisp. We asked for no veggies but they were brought anyway. Yes, they are the frozen variety. They shouldn't be. We skipped them as we always do.
Rincon serves up some good food. We like it here. If you don't, I'm sorry.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Jun 1, 2016Previous reviewA few pretty nasty reviews here. We had a very nice experience.
We would have never found this place on our own but thanks to a friend in Bayonne, we now know about it and will return. My son and I had some excellent Chorizo to start. Plenty to share. For entrees, Veal in Almond Sauce for me. A Sirloin steak, medium rare for my son. Plenty of yellow rice and spanish potatoes. We skipped the veggies.
Our food was delicious. The steak was prepared perfectly. My veal was tender, the sauce was drink worthy. Speaking of drinks, a very nice half pitcher of white sangria hit the spot. Spanish potatoes were very crisp.
Rincon is a nice neighborhood spot. We look forward to our next visit. - Eileen H.Glen Rock, NJ581834Jan 20, 2019
Another EXCELLENT dinner / birthday celebration at Rincon de Espana! I just don't get the negative reviews. Looks at this food!! Consistently excellent for 20+ years (started going with my husband's family when we were just dating). The chorizo appetizer and escargot were excellent as always. I love the pork with almonds other of our party of 8 ordered the steak, lobster, paella. Everyone was raving about the deliciousness and huge portions. Oh - and the Sangria is the best you'll ever have. Not too sweet, lots of fruit. We order the white as personal preference. They make red too. Servers have been there for years. Wonderfully attentive gentlemen. Go! You won't be disappointed.

I gave this a second try because I saw some good reviews pop up. However NOTHING changed ! Seriously, I can't believe how horrible the place is. While I sat at the bar a middle age couple was raving about the food- or should I say how plentiful it is. Well, plenty of yuck is still just bad.
Stuffed mushroom apps- stuffed with breads (nothing else) and caned brown gravy !/!?
Garlic shrimp-tiny very garlic"y" OK
Drinks- can the glasses get smaller?? Stick with sangria you can't mess up wine with triplesec and sugar...lots of sugar
Wine list-- Nope, none, nadda
Paella- all rice, where's the chicken or shrimp
Steak- tough as nails
soup- don't splurge for crab..it dishwater with "something" in it, but not crab.
Tried shrimp in green sauce- same tiny shrimp as app and sauce is corn starch, stock and parsley
AND- REVIEWERS ARE RIGHT::: canned veg and fake potato chips grossly undercooked.
Definite no goHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 8, 2016Previous reviewOMG I don't know how it could get worse ! I seriously think they are paying for the good reviews. Food COLD, tasteless, canned veg??? Really, canned veg; dirty, old, rude servers. This is simply a NO
