Roofing Specialists Northwest

Robert, their senior roofing specialist, has saved us tens of thousands of dollars in damages, and saved a vacation, too! He came out the day after Thanksgiving 2022 in a torrential downpour to install a heavy-duty tarp on our roof since water was coming into our kitchen. We were ready to cancel a vacation that started the following Monday. Then, Robert supervised a completely new roof in September 2023, and he and his crew worked soooooo efficiently, fast and clean. Our roof had multiple problems for years due to an incorrect install from a (then) very reputable company 15 years ago. We communicated directly with Sarah via text and phone, and that worked better than leaving messages or sending emails.

Their appraiser/estimator and their workers and foreman (Alberto) were all top notch! Great work and quality workmanship on the roofing leak and the vent installation.

But several important areas of dissatisfaction:

1) Their office staff/receptionist person was very poor at communicating.

2) On the day of the appointment - no one showed up. And It wasn't until I called, left a voice mail, and emailed that they finally replied with "Sorry - we need to reschedule." (Wasting my time and disrupting my work, my time off and my appointment scheduling)

3) Many (3 dozen +) roofing nails were left on the ground, on my steps and in my driveway when they were finished. (No punctured tires yet!))

Excellent experience with Roofing Specialists NW. Had multiple holes and leaks in our townhouse pop-up roof over our deck. Roofing Specialists were were responsive and professional. The work was completed in a day and they cleaned our drain while they were up there. Our neighbors also sent texts describing them as courteous and professional.

I had an appt with Shawn on 11/17 from 2-4pm and no one showed up. I guess my small roof leak wasn't a job worth doing... look elsewhere dont waste your time.

Well, it has been a week and no response from David, the owner of the company. He promised to call and claimed to want to see pictures but I have had no response from him so far. I gave him our job number and the date the work was done. I gave him my cell number, address and NOTHING! This is the kind of response I was expecting after my previous dealings with the company. Very flaky and a lack of follow through. I WOULD NOT do business with this company. Cheers!

Our entire experience with Jake and his team was fantastic. They were immediately responsive to questions/concerns and took time to make sure that things were taken care of in a timely and appropriate manner. They were prompt with everything - starting with the estimate all the way down to delivery and completion. We are very happy with our overall experience!

Shawn and team did a great job in installing our roof. They are very ethical and honest business, Shawn was very upfront about the options and gave reasons behind his choice of materials very clearly. Also he worked with us to reduce the cost by not going for certain bells and whistles like ridge vents which most roofers try to sell to you but you dont need one... These ppl have a lot of experience with the weather and roof/attic problems in the northwest region. Great job done for much less.

So far, so good.. no leaks. They installed a new PVC fibertite roof after I had a poor previous experience with another contractor (our new roof leaked).

This contractor ruined my roof. He was hired to remove and replace the back half of my roof, and in fact did not even remove all the shingles!! This completely voids the manufacturer warrenty on my roof. My husband, Paul M has posted about this below, and the owner actually responded to his post by implying that my husband has some sort of competitor interest. I wish he would be more thorough in his research about my husband, because he would discover that he only BEGAN working in the home repair business in November, several months after his post about the damage done to our home by Roofing Specialists Northwest. In fact, prior to November, he had absolutely NO connection to the home repair industry. I wish he would just make things right, but instead, he accuses us of somehow having some ulterior motive. Our only motive is to keep this from happening to anyone else. See pictures below in Paul M's post to see the damage; one can only imagine the expense we have incurred, not to mention the endless hours spent on a ladder last summer to dig down to the bottom of the wood rot caused by Roofing Specialist Northwest's shoddy workmanship.

This company has done both our roof for our home and for a rental that we own. Shawn came out and not only gave us a quick and comprehensive estimate. He also helped us make some budget sensitive decisions that enabled us to get far more than what others were offering. We had a real conversation rather than "here is your bid have a good day." The crews that worked on our houses were knowledgeable, courteous, efficient and did a great job with the details.
Our neighbors on both sides of our main house ended up using Roofing Roofing Specialists. We primary interfaced with Shawn from the company - everything worked out great! I generally do not even post on Yelp and tend to take posting lightly, as the "critic" tends to be very one sided - you never know the whole story. I figured it was worth my time to say "thank you" to Shawn and the crews by providing this post. I give them 5 stars because they completed to job and brought me into the loop allowing me to make educated choices along the way. I know our roof on the rental house is not perfect and I expect to put more money into it in about 3 years, but now I understand what's happening, I was able to get that extra 3 years out of the roof because I took the time to understand and trust the company's expertise. They are super ethical!
