Rooster’s Chicken Shack

Only had a large strawberry shake (less than $7) so can't vouch for anything else. It was great, btw! Real strawberries, not the liquid mix you get at many places.
It was late (about 8 pm) and there was no wait to order and service was fast and friendly. They have a drive thru as well as counter service. They're off the main streets so I wonder how well they do, but they've been there for years and are popular with family and friends.

I always say the smallest restaurants pack the most flavor! I decided to give this place a try today and it did not disappoint. I ordered a tray of the southwest egg rolls which is 6 egg rolls cut in half, 2 of mamas fried apple pies, and an order of the mini chicken tacos with a pancHo cheese dipping sauce. Let me tell you, the chicken tacos didn't make it home! (Sorry hubby) lol! They were mini but packed great flavor! Great little appetizer! The egg rolls were great as well. They are served with a jalapeño ranch that pairs perfectly with all the southwest flavors! Last but not least, the apple pies( which can be bought w/ or w/o ice cream) were excellent! They were freshly fried just like everything else!! If i ever have time to sit, I'm gonna offer ice cream with it! The gentleman who took my order and money had a great attitude. When i finished eating, i called up to the restaurant to let them know how pleased i was!! Going to def have to go back and try a milk shake and some of their chicken sandwiches!

Great food even better people. My go to is the boom boom chicken sandwich and an order of pickle fries. Never disappoints.

Delightful! We had the chicken strips, a chicken sandwich, and seasoned waffle fries. Everything was hot and yummy.

The seasoned waffle fries were very good. Like Chick-fil-a but with some sass. The sandwich was on a roll and the rooster sauce on the sandwich and as a dip for the strips was very good. 10/10.

We lived in this area, and we travel to Memphis often. I can't believe we missed this place for so long. Now we know, and we will be back.

Me & my family decided to try something new tonight and let's just say we'd rather had McDonald's. I got the Rooster Chicken Sandwich & I give it 2/10 served on a cold Hawaiian roll with a quarter size amount of sauce. My boyfriend got the steak burger and rates it 2/10 as well. (It was nasty). The Mac & cheese bites were ok they shouldn't have jalapeños in them, that honestly ruined them. Dr Pepper was flat. The blondie is so tiny & they charged me $2 for the ice cream on the side. Oh & .75 cents for a slice of cheese. Save your money & eat a sandwich !

Oh my God this place is to die for. Roosters Chicken shack offer a very simple variety of side items along with their main menu items of chicken. The one thing that really sticks out big-time on the menu is the chicken & waffles as it is price cheaper then restaurants who offer it on the menu. I got to sample a waffle but I didn't get chicken and waffles as my meal.
I ended up getting chicken strips with some fries. The fries were as amazing as the chicken. If you love your Pancho's cheese like I do you're in for a treat. These fries are awesome going into Pancho's cheese dip along with a few other menu items you wouldn't think to put Pancho's cheese dip on.

The waffles come with 2 kind of dipping sauces syrup or their locally made honey's. I was in heaven when I had that spicy honey on my waffle the syrup was great too but I'm in love with the honey. Either way I've had an excellent experience here at Roosters Chicken shack. Parking might be somewhat cumbersome and only have a very small picnic dining area but the foods worth it. I would also recommend the fried pickles as a side those are excellent. But regardless of what you order here you won't be disappointed in price and selection.

If I could give Roosters Chicken Shack more than five stars I would. Because my entire overall experience from the Friendliness of the employees and owner have way beyond met my expectations.

Good recipe without all the grease! Great Ma-Pop alternative to chic-fil-a and Zaxby's . The sandwiches are a nice size.

I had the Rooster's Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato tots, and got to also try the fries with Pancho's. Everything was excellent!

The chicken breading was light and crispy, and I LOVED the old school yeast roll for the sandwich.

I ate in the car or I would have tried the sweet potato tots with honey. Really enjoyed my meal and will be back!
