Rug Rescue Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

I told the agent on the phone when I made the appointment that the carpets in almost every room had pet urine contamination largely due to an elderly dog that was incontinent. He told me that was fine, and gave me an estimate of $299. When his agent arrived, the dude told me that it was actually going to be $200 per room because they had to do a special treatment due to the pet urine. They already knew that, and absolutely should have quoted me the higher price on the phone. That's just pure bait-and-switch tactics there, trying to get me to pay the higher price while they're on-site instead of doing the decent thing and quoting me the higher price up front. Additionally, the agent told me they're "not legally allowed to NOT use the special treatment on the whole carpet" so they refused to just treat the downstairs and wash the rest of the house normally.

PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING RUG RESCUE:

My girlfriend and I were very excited to have our sectional professionally cleaned so we could have a break. We keep a clean home and constantly vacuum and spot treat the sectional, but obviously three dogs in and out comes with dirty paw prints and shedding, so like I said, we wanted to take a break and pay to have it done for us for once.
I found Rug Rescue on Yelp and saw the good reviews and saw that their website specifically states that their service is great for dog hair removal, so I thought "Perfect! This is nothing new to them!" I gave them a call and said this was my first time hiring for a service like this and explained the material of our sectional and the fact that there is dog hair and dirty paw prints. The man on the phone said it would be no problem, so we scheduled for about a week later!
I was so excited.
The same man called about an hour before our appointment time to say he was going to be late, so he asked if I still wanted him to come out or could we just reschedule. Since my gf and I had already moved our schedule around for this appointment I said we would like to keep our appointment and that we have no problem waiting for him to come out that day even if he would be late. He sounded annoyed- but I could not reschedule.
When he arrived I said hello with a smile to which I got no response.. so I just awkwardly showed him to the living room.
He saw the sectional and the pile of decorative pillows that we had put off to the other side of the room so that they wouldn't be in his way. His first words were "So did you expect me to clean those pillows too? Or.....". Taken aback by the tone and question, I just said "I guess not! That's why I have them to the side so they won't be in your way! :) "
He says, "Okay. Because......" *pause* and then nothing else.
Not sure what he was implying or worried about with the pillows, but we moved on.
I said "Would you like help moving the couch away from the wall or taking the cushions out?" He said that won't be necessary and he went to get his equipment set up.
I was doing dishes in the kitchen while he started working and offered him water.
I kid you not SIX MINUTES LATER he comes into the kitchen and says "I'm almost done I just have one cushion left."
Once again, taken aback, I followed him into the living room to take a look. He had literally just dragged the equipment one time over the couch cushions. Not even moving them to be thorough and get the sides or anything. Just literally the tops of the cushions and nothing else.
Trying to be polite, but still express my confusion, I said "Oh! Is there nothing that can be done about the dirt? Or the dog hair? Is there any way you could please go over it once more?..." He sternly said that they "don't have the equipment to deal with dog hair and if I wanted it to be removed I should just vacuum it when he leaves." And that the "stains" were just simply not going to come up and he had already tried. (It was dirt. The same dirt I easily clean up with a wet rag all the time.)
I was once again at a loss for words and just went back to the kitchen to gather my thoughts.
After a few minutes I heard him walk out with his machine running and resting on the couch. I waited FIFTEEN MINUTES before even looking around for him because I didn't know what to do, but could not find him, so I went into our bedroom and told my girlfriend that I don't know where he went. She went outside to look around and he was sitting in his car.
About 5 minutes later (so a total of 20 minutes of being MIA while his machine runs in our living room) he comes back in and said he's allergic to dogs so he was having a hard time.
I was confused because when we made the appointment I specifically told him the reason it needed to be cleaned was because of our dogs, but I showed sympathy and just said "no worries!"
A little while later he finished up (doing god knows what) and I was too irritated to speak to him anymore so my girlfriend paid him and even tipped him bc he seemed like he was having a hard day and he was on his way.
When he left I used a wet rag and simple fabric cleaner and got the dirt off of the sectional. And once it dried I vacuumed the hair up with my shitty vacuum cleaner (like I always do) with no problem.
So we paid out the ass for nothing but a wet couch and a bad attitude and then ended up doing the work ourselves anyways.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.
We kept hearing a hissing sound since he had left, but didn't know where it was coming from. Turns out he left the faucet on the side of the house uncovered and running. (We never use it so it didn't cross our minds to go over there and look until like a week later.)
So not only did we pay him for absolutely nothing, we now have a very cool water bill to pay.

Wish we got the 5 star service that others seem to have received, but here we are.

Although I scheduled an appt, JJ called and said he messed up and couldn't do the job....but he did not leave me high & dry....he got me signed up with another company that week and at the agreed price!!

Rug Rescue saved me thousands of dollars by me not having to buy new carpet. They did this by cleaning and dyeing bleached out spots in my carpet. John was knowledgable and it was exciting to see the bleached spots ( used Resolve Carpet Cleaner which made the spots) disappear! I would give this company more stars if I could!

So thankful for Rug Rescue! Between pets and kids, I thought our carpet would have to be replaced. Butt JJ did his magic....and the pet stains/odors are gone, he fixed the areas where the carpet required stretching, and repaired the stair where the puppy chewed on the corner. The results look like new carpet. Could not be more pleased with the results!

Awesome job and won't call another! Thanks JJ. I wasn't concerned about price, just needed the job done, but they did a job that I would have expected to cost more but didn't miss a thing when it came to customer service.
