My first visit at this restaurant. The Ong Choy Stir Fry says $15.99 on the menu and the Spring Rolls say $13.99. My receipt says $16.63 and $14.55 AND they charged 4.712% on the total of everything!!! This is a deceitful practice. If your menu prices increased then you must disclose this. Don't just charge your customers 4% extra without posting it.
The Ong Choy was less than mediocre. They put too much cornstarch to thicken the sauce. It was like they are trying to add more to the dish without adding more meat. You can taste all the cornstarch just coating your tongue. It's awful.
The Spring Rolls only came with 2 pieces of romaine lettuce. It was mostly wrapper and little filling.
Fortunately I live in town and won't have to look at this place often. Its a reminder of mediocre food for higher prices w/ a bad first impression.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 2 - Oct 10, 2023Updated review
Really disappointed in the changes the restaurant has made. The prices went up substantially while the portions have gone down. I would still recommend the nam pork rice but the Thai staple pad Thai taste nothing like pad Thai. This is not the traditional tamarind sauce with the chewy thick rice noodles. Instead, we got a pile of overcooked salty mushy thin rice noodles. It was a HUGE miss and a waste of $20 since we got it with shrimp. Avoid the pad Thai. We were unable to eat it.

It can be a bit on the pricier side (pay cash to save 4%), but the flavor are well worth it! The nam pork fried rice is a must try. It was my first time getting the yum woo sen salad and it's definitely my second favorite now!

I really enjoyed the kao piak sen.. it's a must try! I loved it.
Their beef salad is also a must try!
Their drunken noodle was very good as well.
The Thai tea was delicious.
I don't know if I was super hungry but I thought everything I ordered was very tasty.
The service was excellent. Our server was happy and greeted us with a smile every time she came to our table.
I would come again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 2022
Woah, So far the best Thai Tea Iv had in a long time!
Located in Ka Makana Shopping Center. Lots of parking out front & a lot of dining in tables. Great for Take out and well.
The Shrimp Pad Thai was great! Definitely not too dry at all- Great for Sharing as well.
Red Curry wasn't too spicy and absolutely love it with Shrimp- Rice highly recommended with it.
Rice: $3.00
Crying Tiger Beef Salad tasted Amazing! There wasn't that much meat though but that's Okay. The flavor with all that lettuces was delicious!
Everything that we ate wasn't too heavy. It was good for lunch and we'll definitely be back.

Time for food and family fellowship on a Saturday evening and S&S Thai Kitchen was the evenings choice.
Not too busy but the empty tables had to be bussed, so we picked a table and Tammy cleared it.
It was vegan Pad Kee Mao, level 4 spice for me, Papaya Salad, Lao style (level 1 cause we were sharing it) Chicken Pad Kee Mao for my hubs (level 2), Tofu and Veggies Yellow Curry for my son, and veggie spring rolls to share.
It. Was. Ono!! I will say my husband found his dish much spicier than a two. He was sweating and went through quite a few glasses of water. I don't know if it was heavy-handed on the heat or if he underestimated it but it is hooooot for him? Next time he's doing a level one LoL!
Serving size is large and we always have part of our meals to take home. I love they customize any dish to your preference and they are so health conscious! Did you know they grow a great deal of their veggies, and are organic when possible? Yessss!
They take the last orders at 8:30pm and they close at nine. However, a group of 10 came in right at 8:30 and they didn't turn them away, and then two more couples came in very shortly following them. It was a long night for them but I appreciate them taking care of their customers.
Go see them and tell them Deb said hi!Be prepared to you'll have a delicious meal!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jun 29, 2022Previous reviewLocated in Kapolei at Ka Makana Ali'i Uncomplicated, delicious food. Don't let the simple restaurant front and decor fool you. This place makes the absolute best authentic Thai-Laotian food. This is not Americanized Thai.
There are many reasons to love this family and their food.
Friendly and accommodating and genuinely interested in providing a nutritious, healthy meal. They are good people, folks!
Fresh, local, and organic (as much as possible) ingredients from their own local farm!
No MSG!
They can and will make whatever you order exactly how you want it. They nail the dish every. single. time.
Their spice is legit and still flavorful.
It's not hot just for the sake of being hot. The heat scale goes from 0 to 5 and I take mine Thai hot five every time. My husband though, bless him, he takes a zero. The one is almost too much. Be sure to start low on the spicy scale and move up if you can stand the heat. What you think a three might be and what they're three might be could be two different Oprah shows. Know what I mean, Vern? That's where I started, though, at three because I can take some serious spice.
They have an extensive menu that is very well priced. The servings are quite large, and I usually eat half and take the other half to go.
Monday-Saturday 11AM-9PM
Sunday 11AM-8PM
Oh! They also DoorDash.
You really should give this place a try AND let me know what you think and send me some pics of your ono grinds. - 449189Jul 16, 2022
Friday night and everything in the area was packed with wait times upwards to 2 hours! Til we stumbled across this gem..
SERVICE. Completely empty when we got here, 30 minutes before closing. The host/server wasn't too excited, but he still took our order and served us. The ambiance was kind of subpar with no music or liveliness.
FOOD. 10/10 presentation. Not gon lie this was the cleanest plates I've seen in a minute. The colors were vibrant and the food is all freshly made. Summer rolls were alright. I've honestly had better. The peanut sauce wasn't too great either. Pineapple Curry Fried Rice (w Shrimp) captured the true essence of a Thai fried rice. Curry and sweet pineapple flavors throughout every bite! LOVED IT. I got the Pad See Ew with beef and it was loaded with veggies and noodles. So satisfying honestly. And the curry? Mussaman Curry was off the chain. Why the peanuts? I don't know but I love a crunch factor. Decadent coconut and pepper flavors.
Definitely coming back here to try their other curries and pad Thai. Worth the visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah C.Ewa, Ewa Beach, HI09May 23, 2023
I'll start with the good... the spring rolls were really yummy and the pad Thai was good, albeit small portion sizes.
The Thai food place I usually go to wasn't answering tonight so I decided to try S&S. The lady who answered didn't give me a price before hanging up or even tell me how long it would take to be ready... which was fine I was like generally I know about how much things cost for Thai in this area (we've been to a few restaurants multiple times as we eat Thai a lot) and usually it takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes for pick up.
My husband picked up the food and came home telling me it was $80. The same exact order I get at another Thai restaurant usually cost us about $55. So that was wild. A Thai tea alone is $8.
Anyways, I asked for Thai fried rice, they gave us normal fried rice. The Panang curry was bland and the vegetables in it weren't very good. The fried rice was disappointing because it wasn't what I asked for/what is typical of Thai fried rice for flavor.
I wouldnt come back here based on price alone, it was just so expensive for the small amount of food we got. Only giving two stars because the spring rolls of all things were very good and the pad Thai was good.
If you want good Thai food that isn't going to cost a ridiculous amount of money go to ono Thai.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 11390223Apr 30, 2022Updated review
Gave this place another try and I am saddened to say that their thai noodles and yellow chicken curry was the same as my last visit. So I bet you're wondering why I gave them 5 stars this time?
Well, despite the fact that I think they could improve their dishes by adding more of the meat or seafood of our choice to the noodles or curry, they all still taste delicious to me. The bonus for them is that they have bua loy that I missed the last time!
I have been craving "ginataan" which is a Filipino dessert but I can't find a place that sells them. So when I seen "bua loy" on the menu I decided to try it. I was surprised cause it comes very close to the taste of "ginataan". It definitely hit the spot for me that I had to add another star just for it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 17, 2021Previous reviewIt was a unanimous decision to have Thai food for dinner tonight. Since it was raining cats and dogs, I didn't want to commute to far to get our dinner. Closest to us was S&S Thai Kitchen in the KMA Mall.
I called to place the order and the lady on the receiving end was nice but due to the language barrier, I had a difficult time understanding her. I wasn't sure if I felt embarrassed for her or for myself. I was impressed though cause she got my order correct!!
So why the 4 stars? One thing I love about Thai Food is their veggies! I ordered a Veggie Paid Thai with Tofu (cause the nice lady asked me if I wanted Tofu so I said yes) and I was expecting a wad of sprouts and carrots with it also. I got nada! (See pic included). I am not totally disappointed because it still tasted yummy. The broccoli looked and tasted a slight bit overcooked too.
I also ordered their Yellow Curry which on their menu listed ingredients of potatoes, carrots, and onions. This sounded perfect since I am a pescatarian but I thought I heard the lady say Chicken Yellow Curry? And I swear she asked me what kind of protein I wanted but I told her I didn't want any. I thought she asked me again if tofu was okay so I said yes. When I dug into the yellow curry there was no tofu. I am not even upset cause all I wanted was the potato, carrot, and onion but even these were slightly absent lol
Like I mentioned, it must have been the language barrier and I just heard her wrong. - Hannah C.Simi Valley, CA081Jul 9, 2023
My other half and I love this restaurant! The food is always delicious and spot on. The kind and hard-working staff are attentive and fast to deliver us our yummy dishes!
