My wife and I decided to come here on a Sunday as it's been on our list for a while. Plus it's dog friendly and thought we'd spend the evening here with our new puppy.
When we got there, it wasn't busy. We just ordered the wings and two bowls of pho. The wings came out first.
After 40min the pho still hadn't come out and I was like "hey we should check if they have our order". My wife went in and they said there were a lot of takeouts but our food is coming out. Another 30 min passed and we were fed up.
My wife went in and complained. They look annoyed at us as if waiting over an hour was normal. Took them another 15min and they finally brought out our orders.
They claimed someone had the same order as us so that's why they messed up.
Well the pho they gave us was bland and tasted like they poured hot water in as a filler. Or maybe they just gave us an order that was sitting there for a while. Not something I'd expect for $50 and an hour and a half wait.
Overall, terrible experience. Bad food, even worse service. So happy we crossed this off our list.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amy F.Cerritos, CA02143Feb 2, 2024
My absolute favorite Viet spot! I would eat here every single day if I could. The staff is polite and attentive, bathrooms and dining area are always clean, and the food never disappoints.
Tonight we had the vermicelli plate, nam nam wings, shaky beef w/ garlic noodles, and shrimp avocado spring rolls.
And of course as always their Thai tea. Probably my favorite Thai tea, perfect ratios, not too sweet.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 3, 20241 check-in
This is basically a takeout restaurant and the food is supposedly authentic Vietnamese so we'll see about that!
The kids who work here are very nice and helpful and know about gluten-free and they have a lot of interesting gluten-free items on their menu! I ordered the pho noodle soup with tofu, tofu, mushrooms, and a veggie broth. I also ordered the pork belly lollipops for the boyfriend I'll let you know how it is later after I bring it home and devour itHelpful 13Thanks 3Love this 13Oh no 0 - 48237391Oct 8, 2023
Like the little coves and hideaway beaches this felt like a hidden gem. Spent some time at the beach away from the masses and we were hungry! The menu was limited, but had what we wanted, pork Banh Mi, papaya salad, and bao/sliders.
The Banh Mi by far was the hit, 10/10. Not too much bread, loaded with delicious-not fatty pork, and a good amount of veggies. Next time I'm here I'll request jalapeños, since there was a scant amount of those and I would have liked that extra heat.
The papaya salad was decent, flavorful dressing, and it made me feel healthy, 7/10. It would have been better with more peanuts and jalapeños or some kind of spicy veggie.
I'm weird about Bao or Buns, I don't really like the texture of the bread, but I keep trying. The beef Bao were delicious, I loved the flavor of the meat, completely different spices and good veggies. 8/10, probably 10/10 if you're a Bao fan. I wish we could mix and match on the 2 for $12 special since I really wanted to try the Chicken, guess I should've paid the extra $2. On the whole the prices were very reasonable, especially for this neighborhood.
Service was good, food came out very quickly with fun crunchy snacks on the side.
The ambiance was simple and clean. Nice outdoor seating area, but I wouldn't want to hear all that traffic noise.
So glad we stopped by, we will be craving that Banh Mi .Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 58110114Jan 16, 2024
Small cute little fusion Vietnamese spot in Laguna. Parking can be found behind and easy to walk too. Vietnamese coffee was strong and good. Spring rolls were very big and tasty. I wish they had a fish sauce for them but otherwise was very good. Papaya salad was the star ! It was so fresh and came with fried wonton chips. Banh mi was really good loved the option of beef over pork. Really good Vietnamese place in LB!

Pros: right in front of the beach, has its own parking and clean restrooms. Also dog friendly with outdoor seating
I highly recommend Saigon Beach! Their food is delicious with good portions and the price isn't bad considering the location. I ordered takeout since I planned on eating at the beach but there's a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. My personal recommendation is their vermicelli plate with pork and an egg roll. It's very filling. But unfortunately their lemongrass chicken (seasonal item) was way too salty for me, so I would advise against it.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - 27613035115May 8, 2023
Surprisingly easy parking considering its location. During a girls' weekend with my friends, we had dinner here at Saigon Beach on a Saturday evening. Enjoyed it so much that we decided to come back the next day for lunch so that we could enjoy their morning menu which is available until 3pm
This quaint spot had few customers dining on the front patio when we arrived on a Saturday 6pm so we dined outdoors. There was a significantly bigger patio crowd on a Sunday at 2pm so we opted to sit indoors on that visit. Staff greeted us on both occasions as we ordered at the counter. I like that the menu clearly marks its vegan options. I was super stoked that they have jackfruit as a vegan option too.
Fried Tofu Bites - probably the most "expensive" item that we ordered considering that it's $7 for 6 pieces of tofu. But I appreciate the presentation and loved the added flavor of scallions and fried shallots. https://bit.ly/3B6Fkyj
Shredded Jackfruit Bánh Mì - Yes! All kinds of yes! The jackfruit was seasoned well and there's a generous portion sandwiched between the toasted baguette. The pickled carrots & jicama, cucumber, and cilantro added a refreshing layer of flavor. Very filling! https://bit.ly/44Aq76h
Vegan Chảo Skillet - It's like eating a deconstructed bánh mì and I'm all for it! This came with tofu, mushrooms, and jackfruit. https://bit.ly/3pjVySe
I like this place! I appreciate the creativity, not only with their menu items but also with their vegan options. I would gladly eat here again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
