This was my first time using Saks Salon since my regular stylist is on maternity leave. But I think I will make this my new spot! Raj did a superb job doing Baleyage on my hair and the cut and style was also fantastic! I've received so many compliments! She also did eyebrow threading and minx lashes which turned out great (first time for both). Thanks again Raj! I will definitely be back!

I purchased a living social groupon to get my eye brows done.... The plavlce is clean etc...but i made a 7pm appointment ..got there at 6 pm apt no traffic while the lady who was supposed to do my eyebrows wasnt busy at all she made me wait to do my eyebrows ...granted my eyebrows look awesome...awesome...the place is a little overpriced ...in addition to this i purchased the groupon and she made me pay addtional money on top of the groupon too add up to the service cost ...i have never had to pay extra on top of the groupon.. The groupon is fasley advertised should.... Ill find somewhere else who will do my eyebrows...

I usually get my eyebrows waxed but my roommate recommended threading so I decided to give Saks a try. Sara was able to see me right away and did a great job. She was also super quick.
It's conveniently located next to the LA Fitness in Town Brookhaven, so there's plenty of parking.
Saks also has a monthly membership for unlimited eyebrow threading for only $16.99 ($19.99 if you add the upper lip). Cheaper than just one wax!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melissia R.Atlanta, GA742Apr 27, 2018Updated review
HORRIBLE ! RUN AWAY ! I walk in with blonde hair asking for highlights and lowlights and I walk out with "hot roots"
Olivia had the audacity to ask for a tip as I was paying. When I ask for a refund for services Raj the owner refused. Run away ladies and gents. The pictures are of the results of poor work and I pulled a picture from the internet to prove my case. Thank goodness my bank honored the Refusal of payment when I filed the dispute. RUN RUN RUN.. They need to go back to cosmetology school .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 25, 2018Previous reviewRUN! Don't go. I walk in with blonde hair asking for highlights and lowlights with a picture as an example to follow below and I walk out with "hot roots" and nothing what was asked for. Olivia had the audacity to ask for a tip as I was paying. When I ask for a refund for services Raj the owner advised me she had me on video and no refund would be provided. So you video tape your clients because you can't provide a decent service or know what you are doing? Get out of here . The pictures are examples and before I walked in . The last pics are after the service. Run ladies and gentlemen! Don't go!

Just Alright !
I had a $89 balayage Groupon. My stylist did a good job on the coloring but was very clumsy but nice. Halfway through my bleaching process she knocked over all the hair bleach and it took like 15 min to start over and I was afraid that my hair color would be light where she started and darker when it ended bc I didn't even leave the bleach in for long. My hair cut was OK, I did feel like she was rushing. Another thing is my hair ended up looking GREEN. I know she noticed but waited until I noticed to fix it. Like come on lady you're the professional, don't let me walk out looking like a tree! After another toner session the green got taken out. Overall, I'm ok with it and my bf loves it so I guess it's all good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sue B.Duluth, GA02Dec 20, 2021
I felt financially under attack from the moment I walked into salon. First of all I made my Bayalage appointment during the week and called prior to coming in to ask about Groupon. The woman,(Raj) told me not to buy Groupon online but she would charge same price in-store. Upon arrival of my appointment time she immediately said the price would be over $200 because the Groupon did not include the toner cost. Since I know she was saving the Groupon split by me paying her directly instead of sharing the Groupon fee I told her,"You know, I think I would feel more comfortable in the arrangement if I bought directly from Groupon." I did this because I wanted security that if things went sideways at least Groupon would protect me. The way Raj was throwing in add'l fees, I truly felt that I would need that security. Anyway, the minute I mentioned buying from the Groupon app she said,"if you buy a Groupon I will not do your hair right now and you'll have to make another appointment to return." So shady. It was mid-week, not a weekend. There was nothing in the fine print of Groupon stating any special stips about days/time of using the Groupon. It was just Raj being manipulative, knowing I was ready to get the Bayalage, knowing I wasn't going to drive all the way back there. Really felt gross TBH. I should have left right then and there but I didn't because I was ready to do it. I am not sure what goes into a Bayalage normally but it seemed to me that all she did was use hair color to paint large portions of my hair. The process took about 30 minutes. Foil takes longer and is much less $ so I am not sure why the upcharge. I feel like the color was not left on my hair long enough to really see a difference. However, over time with enough blow dries the blonde finally came through.
At the end of appointment, I paid $235 on a $100 Groupon. Would NEVER go to this place again or recommend to anyone. I am astounded that people are leaving good reviews. Maybe she is offering a discount if they do.
If you want to go to a hair salon that nickels and dimes you the entire way this place is for you. If you want to go somewhere that pricing is fixed and you can relax knowing what your cost will be upon leaving, go somewhere else.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lita H.Atlanta, GA2662215Oct 23, 2019
Although the staff were courteous, I honestly don't know if I'll be back. I needed a quick trim of my split ends because I was going to get my hair braided and was on a time crunch so I didn't bother with my normal salon. I had trouble booking online so I called to see if they could fit me in for a few things in addition to the trim.
I was curious to try the hydration steam treatment and get my eyebrows threaded so I asked for those appointments, along with a blow dry and straight iron plus a trim. I arrive and the stylist walks in about 15-20 minutes later and gets started with my hydration treatment. She gave a great head massage and the steam treatment was nice -- I'm glad I gave that a try. But that was the highlight of the appointment.
Once I got out of the steamer, the stylist asked if I wanted my hair dried, which I said yes, because I am not yet able to wear my hair naturally so it has to be dried and straightened. It was abundantly clear that despite offering services for textured hair, their staff is not familiar with it at all. It was clear that the stylist didn't know how to approach my hair, and after using a wire brush too large for me and clearly struggling, the owner, Raj, took over.
Raj had a much better handle on my hair but it was still rough. The finished product was better than expected but my expectations were pretty low from the start.
At the end of appointment, Raj broke down the charges as $35 for the hydration treatment even though it's $25 on their website, $35 for the shampoo and blow dry and $55 for the cut (which I specifically said repeatedly and she agreed was a trim of split ends). For the amount I paid, I should have just gone to my regular stylist who would have done a much better job.
I've rationalized the cost to be "it is what it is" because she didn't seem to charge me for the threading, but maybe she did If I got my hair done in salons more often, I'd be more upset but considering this is a yearly occurrence and I'm braiding it up soon, it's kind of a wash. The split ends were removed; I learned that I do like hydration steam treatments; and she did a great job on the threading.
In summary: come for the threading but be weary about the other services, and have them break it down before you get in the chair.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Diana N.Washington, DC1335Jan 3, 2021
Raj did an amazing job on my Balayage and haircut. She was very sweet and patient with me trying to understand what color I wanted. The salon is very clean and nice and uses great products. I will definitely be back.
