Great service and the food was very flavorful. Brought me back to my time in Korea. The only thing I didn't care for was shredded lettuce in my bibimbap and a lack of other fresh vegetables in its place. But the flavor was good so I can't ding them too much. I'll be back for more

Sami's has consistently surprised and surpassed my expectations. I've come here a few times; the most recent visit was with my mom. She had the bulgogi, which I've had here before and was delicious. I recommended it to her. I had the bibimbap which was a 10/10. Seriously amazing. I put the kimchi in the bowl along with the sauce too, which made it soooo good. I ate the entire bowl, my sides and my moms sides. It was that good. My mom told everyone about Sami's that day too, she really loved her beef bulgogi. You can definitely taste the wok on the meat.
I keep thinking about the food and I plan to go back to get the same dishes and try new things. I highly recommend this Korean restaurant!Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - 25118244Apr 1, 2023
I got a to-go beef bulgogi dinner meal, it came with the beef bulgogi, white rice, kimchi, spicy cucumber, daikon radish, and bean sprouts. Everything tasted great, I enjoyed the food. The meal is $17.99 which is a little high in my opinion, only because at other Korean restaurants I typically get more veggies, and fried mandu with my meal. Even though it was lunch they don't run lunch specials on the weekend, so something to be mindful of. The service was good, the food was ready as soon as I picked up. It's a mom and pop shop but it is clean inside.

Little known gem my co-worker found...
Small Korean restaurant with a great menu full of delicious options, and the servers are very friendly but make sure you have time for lunch as this place gets really busy.
Great for a large or small group, this restaurant offers traditional Korean fare accompanied with all the banchan that usually comes with a Korean meal.
Restaurant has a LARGE menu to choose from, and everything we ordered came out perfectly cooked and was mouthwateringly delicious.
Swing by, try this place out. It will remind you of Korea and all the delicious food served there!
Ambiance: very casual
Cleanliness: clean (no tables left dirty)
Cost: low to medium (lunch $10-20 based on options)
Customer service: excellent, friendlyHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 24, 2023
I love this place. Very authentic Korean cuisine. The place is clean, albeit not very upscale. The menu is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything you order. The have a very limited alcohol selection, mostly Soju. Service was attentive.

I went to high school in Seoul South Korea so this place feels like "home". Large Portions. Friendly staff and ambiance. Quick Service. Always Yummy and FRESH.

I would have rated them higher but they aren't to friendly to "outsiders" . I went in to order my food to-go . No greeting, not even a menu, I had to walk to the bar to get it, but greeted the next Korean customers to walk in . The waiter walked them to their seat, rushed menus over to them and all . I sat for while to observe a little longer just in case I was looking into it too hard but then a white male walked in and again no greeting .
Once I ordered my food I sat there to wait since it was a to-go order. As soon as she put the order in she rushed the check over to me (which is fine) but then kept coming to the table wanting the receipt before I had time to look at it . Very uncomfortable feeling .
Disclaimer :: I went to high school in South Korea and LOVE EVERYTHING about the country and culture ! Especially their food lol
So since I recently moved to Virginia I was hoping to find a place near my house that I could become a regular at. I'm praying that was just a bad day for the waiter ! - Donald S.Phoenix, AZ773121Jul 27, 2023
Whenever I'm in a new area, I always do quick search for korean food (because VB's options are really poor).
I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the sundubu here! Staff were very friendly, I think the Ajumma was the cook in the back.
Will be back if we're ever in the area again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mark V.MO, MO0142Dec 6, 2023
I frequently travel and when I do I look for Korean restaurants. One thing about Korean is that there are no "chain" restaurants, they are all locally owned and operated. Sami's is exactly that...% authentic. Two standby menu items were kimpop and beef bulgogi...and in my opinion were outstanding. The reason this wasn't a 5 star is because there were a couple basic menu items unavailable.

Wonderful hole in the wall! The service was wonderful, the ladies even held our baby so we could eat. The food was delicious. What a great find!

I ordered the bibimbap for takeout. I was surprised that the price increased again to $18 but I get it, times are tough. The flavor was good but they have also reduced portions. I understand Restaurants have to charge more but I don't understand charging more and reducing quantity.
