Seleh's De Federal Hill

Seleh was great with rehemming a bridesmaid dress for me for my brother's wedding as well as offering advice on whether additional work was needed on the dress or not. He delivered the dress on a tight deadline and was able to add an extra half inch reduction to the hem when I had to call and let him know my shoes had changed. He's been a part of the Fed Hill small businesses for years and is such an integral part of the community. Would recommend him.

I brought in a vintage dress from the 1940's that needed adjustments to fit my 2024 bust. I was so worried to let anyone handle the task but Seleh put me at ease. Seleh was so kind and welcoming; I have not had the same experience with other tailors in the area, unfortunately. It is clear he takes great care in his work and treats his customers well. Some other customers came in while I was there and it was clear they had long- standing relationships, which speaks volumes. So happy to know I have a place to bring my beloved vintage clothing.

in response to the owner: taking in the waist did not take away all of the stretch, it was velvet, and it was even still a bit too large. my waist is 23". it is small, but i can fit a dress that small over my body. i know my body. i was able to sit through the performance i went to see comfortably and the strap was not well attached. it was shoddy work from a stubborn easily offended old man who doesn't respect femme presenting people. calling me "this chick". you do not know how i dressed myself. you did create an unwelcome environment. i hope u can reflect and respect people more.

I am a curvy girl and my hips are two sizes bigger than my waist. I brought several skirts, pants and dresses to Seleh and he skillfully took in the waist and left me with the slim fit look that I like. His craftsmanship is excellent so that you cannot tell it was altered. You are paying for quality and peace of mind with Seleh. He took the time to know me and I trusted him. He's patient and great to work with. He turned around some of my garments when I had a very tight turnaround. I've moved out of Baltimore and leaving Seleh was definitely a big con. I hope to find a tailor as good at their craft as him. My only tip is to call before you go because he's not always in office and prefers to know when customers are coming.

Seleh's is great! The owner really takes his craft seriously and wants you to love your garment. He was also very nice, would definitely go back!

If there was a name for a horrible bride, it would be Kha. I am not a planner- in general. I took my "wedding" dress to Seleh for alterations after a less than stellar experience with another seamstress. Seleh listened patiently to my story and worked with me under an extremely aggressive timeline (1 week!) and right before his vacation too!

I'm extremely detailed oriented- borderline nit picky. However, my biggest flaw is that I'm too scared to speak up for fear of offending (hence why I had to seek out Seleh in the first place). What's great about him is his easy going personality and his skill for conversation. Seleh never once made me feel guilty for voicing my thoughts or opinions. After my every decision or indecision, he would have me try on the dress, then he would step back to look at me and then he would say, "Speak to me." It was as if he was an artist and I was his living masterpiece. We would work through every alteration until he knew I was thoroughly satisfied. And through it all, he never lost patience with me and all my indecisiveness. He is a really gentle soul and his work speaks for itself (see photos).

Amazing tailoring job, he shortened sleeves of my husbands leather jacket. Great customer service

I bought a leather jacket as a gift. Unfortunately, the sleeves were ridiculously long but the jacket was out of production.

That's were Seleh's came in. The owner is exceedingly professional and clearly explained the alteration process to me. He then took measurements and explained pricing to so there were no surprises.

Within three weeks the jacket was perfect though he would have made adjustments of necessary.

I also have to add that the proprietor is a very personable gentleman and genuinely seems to enjoy people which was a refreshing bonus.

If you ever need a leather jacket altered (or cleaned) I highly recommend Seleh's.
