It was my first time trying this place and also my first time trying soondubu (soft tofu soup). Everything that we ordered was very flavorful, the space had a vibe that felt homey. My great grandma can't take spicy foods let alone finish a whole bowl of soup, so they actually were able to make a small batch of soup just for her :)
The soup was delicious, i'd come back even if that's the only thing I ordered.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 11, 2023
I was a little nervous about ordering from Seoul Tofu House, but I'm glad I gave them a chance, since the delivery ended up being successful, and the food actually tasted pretty good.
I ordered:
+the Kimchi Soondooboo - this comes with a pork or a beef option, in which I opted for the pork; the packaging could have been better, since there was some leakage
+the Kimchi & Pork Juhn - these came out like small silver-dollar-sized pancakes, and not the typical juhns I expected; these were actually enjoyed much
+Spicy Pork - aka, jaeyookbokeum; spicy and good flavor; this entree came with a styrofoam box of white rice and some sides
+a can of Coke
I think there could have been some type of a remediation or an apology from the restaurant, as we were told by our delivery person that there was delay due to having our initial order being taken by another patron - therefore, they had to 're-make' everything; not sure if there was just a delay in the preparation of the food or if the food really went missing (it happens), but there was about a 45+ minute delay from the quote time that we were supposed to receive the items.
I was just glad that the food was enjoyed, as this was a surprise dinner that was ordered!
There was enough food to create at least 3 meals, so the portions are generous!
+delay in delivery
+flavors of items were good
+packaging needs some work as there was some leakageHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 19, 2023
Overall ok. The soup was really good and the kimchi also good as expected.
I thought the side of Mac n cheese was just... weird? Didn't touch it. And my friend ordered the chicken Katsu which looked not good. Clearly a poor piece of chicken hidden under the frying, didn't eat most of it.
Probably wouldn't come back here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 21, 2023
Korean food in Hawaii?
I was largely skeptical when my friends raved about the great Korean food they had, from Seoul Tofu House, in March of last year.
Well, my other friend also suggested Seoul Tofu House when we caught up and I told him I would be out to take my second trip to Oahu.
Seoul Tofu House does a lot right.
The first thing is offering something very different, but with quality ingredients, from the food offerings of other restaurants around the Waikiki Strip. I noticed the growing number of Korean visitors, especially compared to last year (2022). This place does a great job at appealing to both the Korean and API crowd, as well as the folks visiting from other parts of the nation (I was nosey and listening in, while waiting for the food).
My favorite thing that they offered were the various combination specials. They have set meals where you get a tofu soup, a bbq item, rice, and ban chan to go along with it. Very well balanced meal that did not feel too heavy.
Service was exceptional. Friendly, prompt, and helpful. They made sure that our waters were refilled.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 15, 2023
A great location for good enough Soondobu. If you're looking for Korean food, this place may be enough to fulfill any cravings.
The soondobu sets are quite nice. Every order comes with rice, kimchi, seaweed, cucumber, and other typical sides. Even the mild beef soondobu set was quite spicy for me, but it was a very hearty soup. The kimchi that night was incredibly sour, almost like it was drenched in vinegar before serving, but I hope it was a one-off thing.
The service being a bit slow is about as generous as I can be. It was an inconvenience, but the restaurant was training a new waiter. There was nice background music and it made for a decent waiting experience; it also wasn't as crowded as other restaurants in the area.
I did try the seafood and green onion jeon/pancake, but forgot to get a photo. It was pretty good, perhaps a bit doughy but very tasty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 236237738Jan 13, 2023
Surprisingly good food!! This place would of 5 stars if it wasn't for my fried chicken that took 30 mins to serve.
Overall, good friendly service. I recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 211291599Jul 9, 2023
Surprised and a little sad that this place doesnt have better reviews!
I can just absolutely rave about the large portion size and perfectly cooked salmon katsu that paired perfectly with their pickled daikon, rice, and mac salad. The spicy tofu soup was also very tasty. The spicy garlic chicken was just ok for me. The banchan was delicious too.
Service was so quick and friendly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 14, 2022Updated review
Last year I discovered this gem by accident, it was raining so hard I just got in as shelter n tried the soup, omygawd I have been dreaming about coming back ever since so here I am.
The reason I gave 4 stars last time was the server told me there was only 1 way the Soondubu was made, fire engine hot, it burnt my mouth. This year I saw on the menu the icon 1 chili so the soup came out so perfect, the grilled kalbi was more flavorful n full of onions. I have been to 3 Korean restaurants in little Korea n their Soondubu were all watery n tasteless, the owner here was very happy I told him I travelled back here just for his tofu soup. Life would be beautiful if I can dine here everyday. 6 stars baby! Lol , what's wrong w people to even rate this less than 5 stars? LolHelpful 7Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0Feb 9, 2021Previous reviewUntil today I had no idea what soondubu was and tofusoup? What is that? Korean tofuhouse ? Well it was an adventure, It was raining in Waikiki and I needed a hot soup, I was so happy to have tried it. It turned out to be delicious sort of like bun rieu but extremely hot I managed to eat most of it. The grilled beef ribs was a little chewy but very flavorful. Try it you like it! Now I'll have to try a few tofu houses in little Korea aka Garden Grove, next to Little Saigon.

Great place if you are feeling Korean Soondubu while staying in Waikiki. Rather than driving to Korea Town. Although KT has some great spots. I didn't feel like driving since we were driving around all day.
My mom and I both had a combos. Kalbi and soondubu, while I had the spicy pork and soondubu. It was just the right amount of food. Our eye were hungry cuz we ordered the green onion pancake. But theirs had more batter than the veggies. We weren't a fan of it. I was expecting more veggies and less batter like the photo. Plus we had so much food with the combo we couldn't eat much of the pancake.
Thanks for a great dinner!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
