I've been eating here for years, and I don't know if there's a dish I crave (and never get tired of) more than any one of their wraps. Always fresh, and the sauces are incredibly flavorful and crave-worthy. Fantastic hummus and baklava, too. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, too. You MUST give this place a try!!

VERY delicious!!! I've seen this place on my way to work a lot and today I decided to try. I was not let down. Great lunch and possible dinner option. Next I'll buy to bring home to the family and this might just be the spot!!! So good and filling.

I've been visiting this place since it opened a few years ago, and it's one of my favorite places to go when I don't have time to cook, but don't want the feeling of traditional fast food. The food is filling, with pretty good portions and great flavor. I normally order one of their bowls, and I might spring for a wrap occasionally. The shawarma bowl, and lamb kabob bowl are my favorites. Make sure you get extra tahini sauce for your bowl! (If you're a person who likes your food semi-drenched) The fries aren't my favorite, but they pair well with the sauce selection. The sides of hummus, falafel, and dolma are always perfect to start off with as an appetizer, or paired with your meal. Friendly and efficient staff

Amazing fast place with excellent service! We had chicken shawarma, shisk tawook, falafel, grape leaves, fries, tabouli, mint tea, and lemonade! Everything was cooked to perfection! The food was so delicious! You can tell that they use fresh high quality ingredients! Reasonable priced as well ! A true gem in Kansas City ! We ate outside in the fresh air with our big dog ! The nice lady even gave us some free food for him !

I have been going to this establishment for years. I have always gotten the falafel deluxe wrap. Today is the last day I will go to Shawarmar. I ordered my meal, waited twenty minutes in the drive thru, and the guy that gave me the meal first had an attitude problem where he seemed extremely annoyed that I asked for the receipt and ketchup. I just thought ok cool, I just want my food and left. When I got home, I realized that instead of falafel, there was chicken. Okay, cool, I am going back to get my order. I drive back and explain the situation to the employee who then tries to chastise me and tells me that I am mistaken. I then tell him that I just want my falafel wrap and I have the Shawarmar wrap to give to him and he refuses to replace the order. I say to him, "Okay, Cool." Shawarmar, I have been going to your establishment since it opened and will not be returning again.

Shawarmar has so many things going for it. 1- locally owned, 2- kind staff. 3- delicious food with fresh ingredients. 4- average price for Mediterranean fare.
I will be honest I've hit the drive thru at both locations so I have no idea what the interior of the independence location is like but it's clean on the outside and the food is always fresh so I'm happy!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diane G.Mesa, AZ8156Aug 1, 2022
Delicious and healthy food on the go.
I got the falafel supreme wrap and my partner got the bowl version. The bowl was a little dry, so maybe request extra sauce. The price was a little high for the portions, but it was made to order and was very tasty and fresh. We loved to support this female owned business!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christy N.Fort Worth, TX12835Dec 21, 2022
I was so excited to try this place as I've heard some good things about the food and it's in such a convenient location. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the food I got. Initially I wanted the kebab bowl but they were all out (already at noon on a Wednesday??). The next thing that stuck out was the loaded fries. Fries always seem like a safe, hard thing to mess up. This plate tasted under seasoned. I think maybe the chicken was the only thing seasoned and the fries just added in. There was also two dressings on top. Overall this bowl was not the best

Good place to get some cheap Middle Eastern food! I got the Shish Tawook bowl with fries. GREAT fries -- even with takeout, they were still fresh. The shish tawook was good too, but I did wish it had a little more spice or sauce to it. But this also could've been due to the fact that it was takeout and I wasn't aware if there were sauces to add on to it. Other than that, would definitely come again!
