Sheer Genius

I have been going to Sheer Genius, probably since I was 16yo! Every time I go into the salon, they welcome you immediately, very professional, and also which I love, is they treat you like family! Ms. Sam, Deanna, and the new apprentice are all amazing talented. I highly recommend checking them out, and give them a chance at cutting your hair you will not be disappointed.

My stepmom and I came in for a shampoo and style for an event we're going to this evening. Their availability was great! I was able to get an appointment for both of us on short notice. The wash was INCREDIBLE! My stylist, whose name is escaping me right now, was very thorough and checked in often to see if temperatures and pressure were good. The style itself was very much like the photo I showed her, and the owner, Sam, followed my stepmom's instructions very closely. My stepmom loves the style- and she's very hard to please so it's a big compliment. I took off a point because I didn't see any stylists use any heat protectant at any point, which worried me a bit. There's also almost an excessive amount of hair spray on both of our heads, although I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Every other customer in there seemed to be really enjoying themselves and seemed to really like the staff, which is fair because they're all very nice.

Please be aware that they are CASH ONLY! I didn't know that until I was there. It wasn't an issue for us, but that's the only form of payment they take.

First I want to say I am not one to complain and I understand hair will grow back and it's not the end of the world but the experience I had was horrible. I walked with a appointment and waited to be called like anyone else. The lady who did the shampoo was great but however Sam had to much going on. She had hair product in her hair and doing a clients as well. Then finishes the roots of one client then comes to me and ask what I want. I show her a previous picture of how I had my hair and just wanted as close as possible. She then asked me what I wanted and I agreed. She then started talking to the next walk in and asking him what he wanted to get while she cut mine. She had it so choppy to the point I have to get it fixed. I did not ask for a bang and My photo did not showed one. She then asks someone to blow dry me and goes to the next person cutting his hair and then goes back to the person with color and washes her hair. Yes she may cut good (not today) but she needs to take a moment to stop and breath. I thought this was going to be a moment for me to finally get my hair cut and be happy since life has been extremely difficult lately but now I have to pay more to go to another place to get it fixed. I would never go back and I hope no one ever experience what I did. Also the front of my hair looks worse.

I had the opportunity to have someone different do my hair after years with the same person. Beautiful place. Felt right at home. Sam did a fantastic job. Her daughter washed my hair and was very pleasant Would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks so much. April 27,2021

Sam is an amazing stylist and wonderful business owner. Everyone is treated like family, customers and staff alike. I always leave super satisfied. I've never had a bad experience here. I recently moved but I don't trust anyone else to do my hair so I'll be making the 45 minute drive back to Sam and everyone else at Sheer Genius

to my butt and told Sam I wanted 4 inches off, enough to bring it to the bottom of my ribcage and I walked out with hair that doesn't even pass my boobs. She cut way more than I had wanted her to. She was in a hurry because she had a few clients in chairs so I think she just did a rush job and didn't pay attention to how short she was cutting. I came home crying because all my hair was gone.

Outdated hairstyles and techniques. I've never had a hairdresser use thinning sheers on my fine hair. I was expecting to get long layers. Instead the happy chopping owner gave me a Rachel from 2004. Now I have a new appointment to get my hair fixed at a reputable salon. My advise is to stay away.

I had my hair cut and colored at Sheer Genius today! I showed Sam a picture that I liked and she did it perfect!!! I am so Happy with the results Sam and her staff are wonderful and very friendly. I enjoyed meeting all of them! I will definitely go back!! I would give 6 stars if I could!

As a new client, I thought Sam, the owner, would have tried to earn my business. Not the case. She showed up 45 minutes late, didn't apologize, and took another (quick) customer before me. Terrible customer service! I will not return!

I absolutely love this place. Sam, the owner, makes you feel like family. She really takes care of you. The results are always phenomenal!!!
