Shiners On The Levee

The food was delicious! We had the potato barrels to start and half slab of ribs for the entree. Both were amazing! The service was very friendly, but a little slow. It's also super loud in the restaurant, but we had a great time. The setup is really cute. We will come back!

Some friends and I wanted to hang out, so someone suggested Shiners on the Levee. I wanted to like it, but this place left me feeling it was just "OK".

Shiners is not hard to find, thanks to the bright signage, and inside was pretty clean. The hostess was friendly and I was able to find my friends easily. Our server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, which we really appreciated. The prices were a little higher than I had expected, but I had figured the portions would make up for it. One friend ordered a Pork Chop with Mashed Potatoes and the other, a Grilled Reuben with a Fried Pork Chop on it. I ordered a Shiner Cheeseburger (single patty) with Sweet Potato Fries.

We waited for our food, as our server refilled my Coca-Cola and my friends' beers. I previously mentioned the portions would justify the higher than expected price. For my friends' food, it did, but not for mine. Their food portion was much larger than mine, (both meat and potatoes). My fries were sparse and my burger was quite small. Both items I had were not very flavorful, and the bill was pretty high. I was well disappointed but tried to look on the bright side: I was with friends in an environment we could talk in.

The twist came with the "Potato Barrels" I had ordered to go. I brought these home, and my family LOVED them. These appetizers were like loaded potato skins, but with FULL FLAVOR! They were so good, I had wished I had ordered these instead of my burger and fries.

Location, environment and the Potato Barrels are the best things at Shiners on the Levee. I hope Shiners would consider suggesting items for people who like larger portions, or a full plate.

First of all this place is huge. They have outdoor seating, a beautiful bar, a stage and seating suitable for groups.

We sat outside and it was a gorgeous night. The food is amazing. When you walk in the smells grab your attention. Our friends got the grill out which is enough food for a crowd and their version of potato skins. Yummy. I got the chick and pic the best chicken sandwich ever. My hubby got the brisket. We were all happy.

First time at Shiner's and it did not disappoint! There was a fun crowd there on a Friday night, live music, and I thought the layout of the place itself was well done. They have a big bar area with TV's tuned into sports. The live music is entertaining but not too loud that you can't have conversation during your meal. There is also a big patio that will be wonderful when the weather gets nice.

Unfortunately we were quoted a 5 minute wait and ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes because they admittedly forgot about us. We weren't in a rush and enjoyed the live music while standing there waiting. They have some couches for guests who are waiting but we opted to stand. The service otherwise was fabulous.

I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was perfection! I My sister got the brisket and really enjoyed it. She also had the green beans and we each had a corn muffin. I felt the dishes were elevated and appreciated the quality of the meats, no gristle and gunk. Overall the food was a 10/10! We both had leftovers so the portions are generous too.

The menu has a good variety of dishes and the cocktails are fun. They offer moonshine beverages which is a nice touch. Overall I loved it and will be back!

Great weather, great mood, great service, great food, great company. I saw some reviews that the pulled pork is dry - it actually wasn't! Although the food is more on sweeter side, everything tasted fine.

They have games outdoors like connect 4, corn holes and jenga. They also have live band performing on the weekends!

It is a little pricey, but a good place to visit for the experience!

Great for food and activities. The drink selection is nice with many in house cocktails you won't find elsewhere and a nice selection of beers both bottled and on draft. The food is smoked and barbequed on site which makes for quick delicious service. We were seated with no wait and our server was attentive to our needs and had an in depth knowledge of the menu and thus gave great recommendations to our delight. Not a romantic dinner spot but a nice place to bring the family or catch the game.

Tips to make your visit a success:
1) Come for the activities. Activities are plentiful here. On Wednesday they have Line dancing classes and Karaoke on Thursday and trivia on Mondays to name a few. Come for these events and have some food and fun.
2) Get your sides. The entrees don't come with sides like typical BBQ joints but you want to get their great sides trust me. Don't skip them.

Have a good time and Shiners and as they say 'Get Your Shine on'.

This place is a must try! We stopped in for lunch and definitely will be back to check out the live music. The staff greeted us and helped with all our questions. We shared the sampler and ordered a couple sides. Everything we tried tasted amazing! The sauces were a great bonus! Loved the sampler arriving on a small grill - so unique.

Delicious! We stopped in on a whim. So glad we did. The food was delicious. Love the country decor theme. Feels like a little bit of Nashville here in NKY. We will be back for some of the special events paired with BBQ- bad for the diet but so good for the taste buds. One final note, the hostess and our server were great at suggesting what to try.
