Skrimp Shack

Stopped in for lunch takeaway. I'm not sure if this place is franchised, but I have visited their other locations. The hubs ordered the shrimp basket with fries, and I the whiting basket with hush puppies. Customer service was fine, but the tables could use a wipe down. They have their own packaged cocktail and tartar sauce when requested. Food came out quickly within 5-10 minutes of ordering. It was freshly fried as it melted the bottom of the styrofoam box.

It is a small shop and holds about 4 tables I believe. We filled our cups from the soda machine, and left to eat the food at home. There were about 8 pieces of shrimp that were lightly battered. It was ok. The fries were limp, half hard, and cold. It tasted like leftovers from an old batch, and thrown in with the shrimp.
The whiting tasted extremely fishy. The flesh is supposed to be soft, but it was very firm and almost hard. The tartar sauce could not mask or save it. The hush puppies were fine, and it came with cinnamon butter. The saving grace was the banana pudding. It was light and not overwhelming sweet.
Maybe we came on an off day...

This is one of my favorite spot for fried catfish and flounder sandwiches in the area. The fish is well seasoned and the portion is generous. Also, the banana pudding is amazingly delicious which I always get every visit. The place is always clean and the staff is super friendly!

I've tried other places in the area but I find myself comparing it to Skrimp shack. This place is legit good tasting food and excellent customer service. Highly recommend this place to all fellow yelpers and if you haven't try - do it and you won't regret it.

The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was so clean and organized. I loved it.

Our food came out pretty quickly. It was hot. The shrimp were so good. I love that they were a bigger shrimp and fried crispy. It didn't have a bunch of extra batter on it.

The banana pudding was so good. It was in a cup layered so there was lots of crunch from the vanilla wafers.

I definitely recommend this location.

This used to be my go to place for take out seafood for years. I sent them several customers from work and supported them all during the pandemic. Anyways when I had a company from Boston I treated her to dinner. The shrimp were half the size they used to be and did not have that good taste anymore. My flounder was hard and dried up and fries were cold. I spent 50 bucks for crap.
I was surprised disappointed and embarrassed.
I won't be going there again, period.

Ok flavor of fish, but overcooked dry shrimp and pricey. This place was a one and done for me

This was another nice takeout night for myself and my girlfriend. Process was very simple: order food online and use the curbside option where the staff brings out the food to your car. (girlfriend ordered her usual crab and shrimp po-boy with sweet potato fries I believe). I ordered the skrimp basket with a side of sweet potato fries, the first time trying them here. As always, shrimp was fried to near perfection. Sweet potato fries were cooked well, but lacked any salt or pepper, which knocked a star down. But thanks to some mustard and hot sauce mixed together (I always did this during dine-in's pre-pandemic), the meal was good. Even though the meal was lacking seasoning, it will be ordered again as always. Maybe ordering a fish sandwich will be next in line.

The food truck is awesome! It is very high tech and leaves other food trucks in the dust for the area.

Ordered the Skrimp and crab Poboy. It was a horrible sandwich. The bread was hard , very little sauce and had no taste. For amount of money I paid for it was truly bad. I do not recommend this restaurant

I'm down here on a day visit from Baltimore and baby let me tell you - this ish was good. Super good! I love seafood and I must say that everything we ordered was amazing.

Our order was taken by Erin - and she was super helpful, cheerful and professional. She was patient with me and my questions and never once got an attitude. I feel bad that I didn't have cash because I surely would've given her a tip!

After asking Erin all of my questions I finally decided on what I wanted. I ordered a catfish and shrimp basket with hush puppies and a sweet tea. I also added a side of Cole slaw. The catfish was super fresh and fried to perfection. The shrimp were plump and fresh and fried just right. I mean everything was so crispy and seasoned so well. The sweet tea tasted freshly brewed and was just the right amount of sweetness.

The hush puppies were crispy on the outside and soft and warm in the inside. I just wish they had kernels of corn inside. The cole slaw was a good flavor. I just wish it were a little creamier and came down on the sweetness just a tad. The difference between a basket and a dinner is the portion sizes. I got the basket and it was plenty of food for me.

My friend ordered a fried mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was super big, fried perfectly, and tasted amazing. Also, even though I'm not a big fan of sweet potato fries but these appeared to be fresh and were fried oh so well. Yummy! He also ordered 4 shrimp on the side. Those are about 90 cents too but they're worth it.

Overall The Skrimp Shack is a great place with great food and the prices are right on the money. They offer great value. Also we ate in and everything was clean which is a super plus. If I'm in this area again I'll definitely be back. And that's a fact!
