Do NOT use this company!!! This company was not the cheapest company we could find, however we decided to pay more for the reassurance they gave us - they stated they did not hire out third-party contractors to complete the moving process and they spoke of the pride they took in caring for our belongings throughout the moving process.
1) when our belongings arrived at our new location, the truck driver arrived alone and then "called a friend" to help him unload the truck into the new house - this "friend" was not an employee of the company we hired for the service and therefore we had no way of verifying our safety or his qualifications. The "friend" was paid cash by the driver in front of me. The belongings also arrived different than when I packed them -after my belonging left my residence, sometime during the process, the company wrapped many items with sticky brown tape that was unable to be completely cleaned off and therefore devalued and almost ruined my items. They did not ask for permission to use the brown sticky tape nor did they ever mention the necessity to use it during their interview. Additionally, my leather couch arrived with white paint on it which strengthens the proof of lack of care and attention to detail provided during the moving process; at no point should my couch have been near white paint.
2) Upon arriving at the new location, when unloading our belongings, the "movers" carelessly threw our boxes around breaking many fragile valuables - most of which were sentimental in value (please refer to Christmas box pictures). The sentimental boxes were packed and wrapped with great care by me yet when they arrived, they were unwrapped, open, and spilling out items. *The company's insurance policy is pointless for claims and the value of sentimental items is unmeasurable not to mention that there is no way to compensate for the unprofessionalism, stress, etc that was added due to the horrible experience.
3) The service in general was unprofessional and discourteous - moving is hard and stressful as it is - i did not need men who were unhappy with their job cussing in front of me and taking their frustration out on me.
4) part of the service they offered was to unwrap large items and put furniture back together. The truck driver (who doubled as a "mover") was unqualified and did not know how to put together my refrigerator as proven by his decision to use a mallet on open wiring when attempting to assemble the fridge doors.
5) Lastly, and most traumatizing, after the truck driver unboxed and unpacked everything inside my house on a rainy day, he felt the need to take ALL THE TRASH and LEAVE IT ON MY FRONT LAWN then DROVE AWAY!!!!!
I sent pictures and filed a complaint but the company never resolved the matter. They are apparently fine with the unprofessional way the employees represent their business. I will never use this company again and I would NOT RECOMMEND them to my worst enemy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matthew M.Chicago, IL12364670Sep 20, 2022
A friend of mine who lives in Vegas was downgrading & selling a lot of his furniture. After he told me he would give it to me at a steal of a price I arranged for it to be moved to Chicago with this company. They did a great job, two lounge chairs, one very large mirror, a coffee table, a few side tables, and a dresser. Staff was nice and the rates were very competitive! They called me when they were a few hours away, everything arrived in great shape. Thanks!

I urge you use caution before considering Sky Van Lines for a long distance move. While we were initially impressed with their service and communication, this quickly changed after our items were picked up. While we were promised an average 1-14 business day delivery, we've received no updates along the way even after calling multiple times. Tobias continuously says he will update us when he knows more and that they are expecting a truck back soon. For a moving company to not have any idea when they will be receiving a truck and when shipments will be going out is concerning. This is logistics 101. We're now on business day 12 and after calling Tobias again, he let us know it will likely be another 10+ business days but that anything could happen to delay this further. He continued to say that 1-14 business days is an average and not a guarantee, but one would be right to assume that 25+ business days would not be the expectation if 1-14 business days is the "average."
Upon further investigation, we've determined most of the Google reviews to be fake accounts using celebrity photos. Seriously, look for yourself, you might see some familiar faces. Most of the "reviewers" are ranked as Local Guides but all of their other reviews are hidden. As someone who works in marketing, I am very familiar with this scheme to inflate a business's reputation. It's unethical, illegal and we feel deceived. Under 15 U.S. Code § 45, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has the power to stop and penalize parties "using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." This makes it a crime to break official rules imposed by the FTC. And the FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials.
When I mentioned this revelation to Tobias, he quickly got defensive and hung up on me. I would urge others to look into the other long distance moves by Sky Van Lines on Google and Yelp and you will see a similar story to mine. For now, we're at their mercy as they have our belongings, and we can't help but feel we were robbed and deceived.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lis N.Henderson, NV8996Oct 6, 2021Updated review
Per my last review. We received our stuff on the 30th day. If you choose to move forward please read your contract well they don't count holidays or weekends, just business days! I know some yelpers have contact me in regards to my experience so here it is:
Pros:
- Movers were quick to unload did it in less than 2 hours and nothing of ours was damaged. 2 starts are just for that alone
Cons:
- Truck Driver and office staff NEED to understand COMMUNICATION.
We were told we would get a call 2 days before our stuff would arrive so we know what time works best. We got a call from the Driver not the Office Staff on a Saturday saying they are 2 hours away. My husband and I were not in town!!! we told the driver he would need to come tomorrow morning, luckily he was able to work with us but i'm not sure what would ave happened if not. On top of that the driver said we had a remaining balance, we did NOT! We made sure of it had all the paperwork (save those) Got it confirmed by Tobias.
Also after my first review they called my husband saying their boss saw the review and was not happy. Very unprofessional for you to have to let us know rather than doing something about it or apologizing.
Overall If you are willing to wait 30+ days for your stuff go for it!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 22, 2021Previous reviewUPDATE -PER LAST REVIEW:
We managed to get a hold of someone and they did clarify to us that holidays do not count in the 14 business days AND that it is up to 30 days.
Please make sure to view your contract carefully when booking. At the moment we are on day 13. Once we receive more updates along with our delivery I will post an updated review based off delivery experience. - Wendy C.Las Vegas, NV04Sep 18, 2021
Spent 11k to move from Las Vegas to Washington, we had them pick up our furniture on the 14th of August, we're more than a month in, and no notice of our furniture arriving anytime soon, not even any updates of when they plan to dispatch. If you aren't moving to a big city on a semi-truck accessible street, your stuff ain't coming anytime soon. I wish they would be honest about arrival time, or I wouldn't have packed my flower and vegetable seeds to go with them.
Seeing all the other honest reviews, I wouldn't be surprised with If the furniture arrived broken.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kat K.San Francisco, CA4568Sep 30, 2021
My experience was not a good one and would read just like the other 1 star reviews and include broken items, missing items and having to deal with their third party adjuster which is a joke.
I had posted a review the other day where I gave tips which including info regarding contacting the Nevada Transportation Authority and checking out whether a business is authorized for local moves (which Sky Van Lines is not on the list) and also info regarding the FMCSA website to check out "long distance" companies. You will get information that will surprise you. Don't do what I did and wait until you have a bad experience - do your homework up front.
Bad business practices and shady actions need to be exposed for the sake of other consumers. We can't save the world but we can Yelp and maybe that just might help.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dale J.Yuma, CA75Jan 8, 2021
Just bad right out of the load in experience to the two months to get my damaged stuff to me.
Do not use this company. And if you do. Be prepared to wait and buy new stuff. Get all the insurance you can.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jason J.Las Vegas, NV843Feb 20, 2020
All I can say is for everyone to be weary of this company. Please go to Google to see my actual review based on my family's personal experience only. I have since received a partial refund from Google based on Google's local service guarantee. Actual reply from Google,
"Your Google Guarantee claim process is complete. After careful investigation and analysis, we've finalized a resolution on your claim."
Please educate yourselves about the following;
-It has been reported that the company has required that the writer of a negative review remove said review before the company will help them with a negative experience.
-If you look at all the votes for the positive comments as "useful", you will notice the same two people, Rami and Tobias, whom just happen to be the heads of the company. You will also notice that when there is a bad review, these same two vote it as "funny", when they should be taking these reviews more serious as heads of the company.
-If you take note at most of the good reviews, you will notice that they are mostly generic, not actually listing what specifics made them good (generally a sign of a fake/paid review).Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nikki Y.Las Vegas, NV7237Nov 18, 2020
I understand the pandemic has made things difficult.
This company is staying with us through our frustrations and trying to help us. I am stressed but I do trust their company. I know the moving industry is hard. Give them a break...for now.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Danielle S.Henderson, NV18Feb 2, 2021
I was planning my first cross country move and I did quite a bit of research on moving companies prior to making a decision. Sky Van Lines had excellent customer service, great reviews, excellent prices.. everything to make me very secure in my move. Initially, I opted for a partial pack and move with insurance, after a couple of days of thinking about it, I called back and requested a full pack and move with insurance. Tobias was my representative and was very willing to help. He asked me to complete an insurance form listing all items included in the move that is valued at more than $100 per pound. I completed the form listing my valuables (shoes, bags, handbags, jewelry, etc.), a day or two goes by and Tobias calls me and recommends I get additional insurance for the items I listed as these items will not be covered in their insurance. No big deal...
Moving day, no real hiccups. My items were scheduled to be delivered anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks, thankfully the delivery was within 3 weeks. Upon delivery and unpacking is where this move went sideways.
1. Office Desk - destroyed. Broken in half
2. 3 boxes of Coach Jewelry had the jewelry ripped out of the boxes
3. Coach card wallet missing
4. Floor Lamp arrived with a dented base
5. Floor Lamp arrived bent
6. Wall Clock decor was broken
7. Wall Cabinet - stress Cracks on the side
8. Dresser was packed with items in the drawers, making the drawers difficult to open
9. Dresser - Stress cracks
10. Chess Drawers to bed installed incorrectly
11. Aquarium packed with lamp, mulch, and heating pad - Lamp and Lightbulb were broken, mulch EVERYWHERE.
Item 1, 2 & 3 were found immediately, it was a weekend, so I left a message for Tobias regarding my concern. Tobias called me back on Monday and this Tobias was no longer the friendly Tobias I previously encountered. Tobias would not acknowledge that this could happen with his company. He stated in all the years they have been in business, not one customer has had an item stolen or missing. I understand not believing your employees would act so disrespectfully when trusted in someone's home, however, he wouldn't acknowledge this as a concern. He actually questioned me and my character as if me claiming the jewelry was going to change my life financially. Tobias mentioned his company chose not to insure me due to my high ticket items listed on the inventory log (which isn't accurate because he previously recommended I purchase additional insurance for the items valued at $100 per pound, these items do not fall under $100 per pound.) After a less than pleasant call with Tobias he recommended I file a claim with their Insurance company and emailed me the information. Their Insurance claim process is extremely lengthy and unfruitful. No acknowledgment of their wrongdoing.
Tobias was LESS than satisfactory as a customer service representative.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We at Sky Van Lines take these acquisitions very seriously. We also encouraged the client to file a police report about the missing items. However the client refused to do so. After further conversations with the client prior to the move and after the move, these acquisitions seem to be inaccurate.
We reserve the right to refuse Full Value Protection if we have any notion that makes us feel uneasy offering this service. After reviewing her high value items list and the notice of liability that every customer signs, we noticed that she was trying to insure fur coats, diamond bracelets and name brand shoes. Our full value protection is intended for household furniture. When we have this situation we refer the customers to moving insurance or Baker International to obtain the requested coverage. We encouraged Danielle to purchase high value insurance for her items through moving insurance. Danielle refused to take the additional insurance with moving insurance and left her move at $0.60 per pound per article. Which made us feel like something was not right to start.
If a client has a damage claim, then we have no problem providing them the claims process. It is up to the client to follow through with the claims process for the damaged and missing items. As stated by Danielle, she feels the claims process is extremely lengthy and unfruitful. However if any customer has a damage claim, they are subject to the same process as she is. Our company is very transparent about our policy and procedures.
During the move the customer had full packing. During the full packing service we will pack everything in your home. However a full pack is not our responsibility to clean out animal cages prior to transport. This would be the same as asking the movers to wash your dishes and clothes prior to packing them. We also empty all drawers and never transport items with them being in the dresser, due to weight and stability. We do everything we can to avoid damaging clients' belongings.
After a long conversation with our long time employee / foreman about the customer and the belongings that she claimed. We were informed that she did not possess the items she was claiming on the initial high value list. The next point of observation we made as a company was the quickness of her to locate the claimed missing items. The picture of the claimed missing jewelry / empty boxes based on the photos provided by the customer were in a hamper. We would never pack items in a hamper to begin with. All packing is done in moving boxes for safety and security reasons. The claimed missing items were brought to the attention of the movers at delivery. The message from the client was left the same day she received the shipment as well while the movers were performing the delivery. The customer claimed to know exactly what box these items were in (amongst her 50 boxes that were packed by the movers), but when asked who packed these items she could not describe the person or even know the name of the person who packed them. When asking Danielle about these items, she stated that she had 50 of them for her employees. We asked her to send a photo of the other ones for comparison and she changed her story telling customer service that it was only 3 boxes not 50. This in turn makes it very difficult to believe. As previously stated we encouraged the customer to file a police report for the missing items. If this is a legitimate theft the customer would not hesitate to make the report. In our experience she was looking for a quick cash settlement without any real proof of these absurd acquisitions of theft.
