Skyway Masala is an Indian & Pakistani spot in the St. Paul skyway. It has a confusing menu, but you basically choose a combo special and then pick a few dishes out of 7 or 8 sitting in a hotbar.
I got a vegetarian combo ($10), which was vegan by default. It consisted of dal (lentils), choley (chickpeas) and aloo methi (fenugreek potato). The issue with all three was the same: each dish was watery and lacking in flavor.
The vegetable samosa ($3) was overly oily and the potato filling under-seasoned.
I'm glad Skyway Masala is around, but I'd rather go to Ho Fan a few paces up the way.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jenny P.Apple Valley, MN034Jul 28, 2023
My nephew and I wanted to try Indian food for the first time. The owner was super helpful and very generous with portions. Everything tasted amazing great spices and tender meat. They have vegetarian options as well. Everything is made fresh daily if you're in the area and want some tasty food go here. I wish they had seating but will definitely go back

Decent place amazing portions I had the Chicken with rice dish for ten dollars. I had to keep half of it for the next days lunch. One small bone is the menu is a bit confusing. Also good service.

I'm new to the area and I've been checking out the nearby restaurants. Most I'm not that crazy about but this place, wow! The food is incredible. I asked the owner what he recommended and he suggested the chick peas along with some chicken masala. He also added a bit of salad and some type of sauce. It was delicious! He said I wouldn't be disappointed and he was correct. I haven't eaten a lot of Indian food in the past but that's about to change. I will definitely be returning. The food is wonderful and the owner was really nice. I highly recommend.

I've been salivating over Skyway Masala's social media posts and been wanting to try it. Today was the day! Took the bus in to walk the skyways on this snowy Wednesday, and found Skyway Masala at lunchtime. I asked what was the best way to taste as many things as possible and the delightful owner filled a food box w spiced rice, chicken biryani, spinach and potatoes, yellow lentils, and the tenderest chickpeas I've ever had - smooth and soft like a boiled egg. All so delicious, slightly spicy, and full of flavor. He even tossed in one of those sweet balls, a soaked donut style treat. I seriously overate. I'll definitely be back to try the goat stew and hopefully some chana saag if it's available, one of my all-time favorites.

Small place with a rotating menu. The chicken hariyali was good but what I really LOVED were the chicken masala and chicken 65. I'll never forgive myself for neglecting Indian cuisine for the first three decades of my life!

Had to renew my license and had the pleasure of getting lunch here. It was a long wait for the dmv and I needed some lunch. I chatted with who I think was the owner and he was am absolute delight. He made a platter and everything was amazing. The saag was very good and I normally don't like it. The chicken and goat were amazing. Rice was fluffy and awesome. Do yourself a favor and get this food from a good person
