I am blown away by the level of knowledge, skill set and craftsmanship from the Smarter Homes Crew! They came into clean up a disaster a previous company left us! Smarter homes stepped in, got us up and running within a few short days! To say they are immensely impressive is an understatement! They showed up everyday on time, they were a pleasure to have around the house, they left each work area spotless and answered every question we had! Even with a tricky door keypad replacement, they fixed it better than our builder ever could! Our AV rack was a nightmare and boy does it look 5 stars now! It's a masterpiece really! We are so excited to have our music back and boy is our internet lighting speed! Don't look any further, Smarter Homes is your crew! Worth every single penny! Thank you to each of the crew that worked on our project! You guys are seriously talented!!!

Keep that in mind if you're located on the 'poor side of town', I guess.

I know that you see many reviews on here mentioning how knowledgeable Pete and his staff are, but that is an understatement.
I have worked with other home automation companies before, but Smarter Homes of Austin is in a different league than everyone else.
In a city like Austin, we are lucky to have a world class company give us home town attention.

Richard has been fantastic!! I called the office and Richard contacted me before the end of the day. He came to the house, found out what the issue was and designed a solution. So impressed! Highly recommend!

After purchasing a home that needed some rewiring, Smarter Homes had previously helped to completely rewire my home network and install a full system with a mesh wireless network and security cameras that exceeded my expectations.

When I needed some additional work done to extend my system to a new detached garage I didn't hesitate to contact Smarter Homes again as they knew my system and I was certain the work would again be top quality and Smarter Homes didn't disappoint! The additions to my system were completed on time, on budget, and with the same high standard of work I expected.

Pete and his team are the best very knowledgeable and help you through the whole process. I'm glad I called them while my house was being built.

To begin with, DO NOT begin construction on a home, office space or retail space without consulting Smarter Homes of Austin. Not only will you get the best results, you will save money as well.

I have used Peter and the gang on numerous occasions for sound, sight, lighting, etc and they always have the solution. My biggest regret is not using Peter during the construction of our home, the lighting, sounds system, and our home theater would have been completely different and much better. Even if you think you don't have a problem or that improvement isn't possible, you are probably wrong. Call Peter.

This review is about one year in the making. I first started working with Smarter Homes of Austin in the spring of 2013, when I had just purchased my home and wanted to retrofit it to become a "smart home". One of the most appealing things at the start was the ability to have a consultation meeting and explain exactly what I wanted from my system without needing to dive into industry jargon. The professionals at Smarter Homes listened to my wish list, which was fairly diverse, and they proposed a system install plan that met my specifications precisely and within the budget that I had set as a firm limit. They were never pushy or focused on the dollars of the sale; their goal was to make my smart home dreams come true. And they delivered in spades.

Peter, Jeremy, and Andrew have a tremendous level of expertise in system design and integration, and the quality of their work showed from day one. Every aspect of the system was carefully planned, implemented with a level of attention to detail that I have rarely seen before. They do not use sub-contractors for their install work, so I was able to establish a relationship with my system integrator, not just be another faceless customer. I really can't say enough how pleased I am with the amount of personal attention my project received; Peter and his team have been wonderful to work with over the course of the project.

The work was completed on-time and within budget, important factors for a large-scale project. But the area where Smarter Homes stands out from any other vendor I've worked with before is their customer service, especially after the sale and installation.

Any large-scale project retrofitting an existing home will have technical challenges, and Smarter Homes went above my expectation to iron out any wrinkles, be patient with me when I had to ask for changes to the original design, and to work to my complete satisfaction with any hardware or custom programming issues. Whenever a problem cropped up due to unforeseen circumstances, Peter and the technicians from Smarter Homes were right there, working day and night to figure out what needed to be fixed, replaced, or upgraded to get me to the system that I have today, which is exactly what I had envisioned.

If it were possible in a Yelp review to give six stars, Smarter Homes of Austin would have earned every one of them, and I eagerly recommend them for any Home Theatre or Home Automation project, large or small. You simply cannot find a better, more honest, more professional and more caring group to work with than Smarter Homes of Austin.

I found Peter and Smarter Homes through a mailer, as I had just purchased a new home and neede help untangling 22 years of old wires running to over 10 sets of speakers. They had a big job and they did it! Smarter Homes was able to set us whole house Sonos to run the speaker systems.

We had virtually no cell service in the new home and Smarter Homes designed and installed a system which gives us whole home cell coverage, which we could not live without.

The things like security, which Smarter Homes does not do, they were able to recommend great companies from their Rolodex and hook me up.

I would strongly recommend Smarter Homes and Peter Sandford for any complex home electronic and wiring issues. They are professional and do very good work. It is a field where it is extremely difficult to find competent technicians, but Smarter Homes has found some. Two thumbs up!
