Smithfield Ice Cream Parlor

I love visiting Smithfield for its small town charm and not being congested. The hubs and I had finished kayaking in the area before stopping in. Luckily we found parking on the streets right by the shop on a Sunday. Upon entering we saw candy striped awning with a fifties feeling of an old fashioned ice cream shop. Red stools and booths gave the place color. This one in particular had a sandwich station on one side near the entrance with ice-cream on the end. Sandwiches and ice-cream, my favorite combination all in one place.

We walked up to the counter and looked up at the menu. I decided on a hot Reuben while my better half who wasn't as famished as I was chose the kids grilled cheese. Both came with a pickle, chips on a paper plate.

One thing I heard a lot was the microwave. It was positioned not to far away from where they toasted the bread. I guess that's how they melt the cheese and quickly make "hot" sandwiches. My Reuben was tasty and warm. It was good thousand island dressing, sauerkraut, and pastrami. Both sandwiches were served on paper plates making it easier to dispose of it. Salty ruffle chips followed to accompany my sandwich.

I found out they serve Hershey's Premium Ice-cream. I was a bit confused, because the shop said Smithfield's ice-cream parlor. I thought it was going to be home made or in-house made where their ice-cream creations was exclusive to their store. That was a bit disappointing, but we still ordered a strawberry milkshake to satisfy our sweet cravings. It was cold, thick and creamy. Hershey's is a good brand when it's available to have.

It was a great stopover for lunch. Great place for families, friends, and little ones to grab a quick bite. We will be back when we are in town :)

The food is ok. Standard sandwiches and the ice cream is Hershey's. Salty. My grandkids love it due to the kid friendly choices. Service is good and Ambiance is outstanding. Great spot in downtown Smithfield

I love the ice cream here. The Hershey's ice cream is so nostalgic! I haven't been to an ice cream parlor like this since I was a child.

The food could be a little better but the ice cream was amazing. I love the location in the middle of Main Street in Downtown Smithfield.

This is one of my favorite places and I love walking down Main Street and looking at some of the shops on a leisurely stroll. It's very beautiful, especially with all the Victorian style homes!

This is a cute ice cream parlor to sit at on a hot summer day. The old fashioned interior will take you back to your youth! They serve a limited amount of food, like hotdogs and sandwiches, but their ice cream is plentiful! They have many different flavors to choose from and they have packaged ice cream bars for those with allergies. Overall, this is a nice casual spot to meet with friends or family for a quick lunch and a spot of ice cream.

My husband and I have made this our, don't want to go to far spot. Trust me that is not a sacrifice! The sandwiches are spot on always. The Hershey's ice cream is exactly what I remember from CT! This place is a gem we love it. A quick bite and ice cream of you have room!

Nothing and no one can beat Smithfield ice cream parlor. Their ice cream is the best and so many different flavors. Their chicken salad sandwiches on toast are also wonderful! It is a very quaint hometown place. If you plan to go there on the Fourth of July weekend, better plan ahead because the line is out the door. You can tell the kids who work there love the place and they take excellent care of everyone who is waiting for their ice cream goodness! I highly recommend Smithfield ice cream parlor!

This is a great place to bring the kids for a treat. They have Hershey icecream we always get a banana split and sometimes a quick sandwich I love their BLT and the prices are great too.

Really good old fashioned ice cream place with a sandwich shop as well. Milkshakes are wonderful and portion sizes are generous. Outside seating and inside are both adequate sand themed classic. Dairy free options offered as well

Been here several times but the last time they couldn't figure out the credit card machine for some reason!!! When my wife got home she checked and they had ran it through TEN TIMES to the point that her card company SHUT HER CARD DOWN!!! When she went in the next morning the kid working there swears it didn't go through and then refused to give her the owners phone number saying that she doesn't need to get involved! Luckily she was able to file a fraud report with the credit card company and get her money back. If you go here I suggest you pay in cash!!

The best thing about the ice cream parlor is the location. Menu is limited to sandwiches and the ice cream is Hershey so it's nothing special. Price is more than reasonable.
