i have to STRONGLY DISAGREE with Alan.

Soap & Suds is da bomb-hizzy! Claudia and her staff is on point! They truly know what they are doing! I've gone here many time without disappointment. it's cheap, fast and friendly. what else can you ask for?

They know me as "the guy with the shirts", since i always drop off a mass amount of shirts for cleaning, pressing and whatnot. always on time and flexible. ever since i moved away to the east coast, i've never found anything like this joint... when i do visit Chicago, i still stop by this tiny cleaners...

I think this place does house cleaning too. It's a little weird when you walk in.
As far as dry cleaning goes, they send all of the dry cleaning out, so it takes time and costs more than some of the other places.
I started going here because it's right down stairs.
I stopped going here because I went to pick up my clothes at 7:30 (the time they are supposed to be open) and they were not. I went up and down the stair several times in the next 45 minutes checking. At 8am I stood outside and wrote a review on Google. At 8:15am they were open. I later spoke with the owner and she swore that she arrived at 8am... Nope.

This is in regards to the house cleaning service ($125 cleaning & $200+ broken toilet)...

* Damage: Most importantly and the reason for the review, the staff broke my toilet tank the first and only time they came to clean. Had they left me a note and tried to work something out, it could have been forgiven, but they tried to cover it up by turning off the water line and then denied doing it.
* Cleaning: The cleaning was subpar. Not terrible, but not really recommended either. I paid extra for the "deep clean" as it was their first time and they required it. I was told that it would be the "cleanest I'd ever seen my place". I came home to find dust bunnies in multiple spots and the showers looked like they'd barely been touched. Plus, a few dirty sponges were just left on the floor while other items were moved/unplugged and not put back to their original places.
* Customer Service: In addition to how Claudia handled the broken toilet, she also reneged on her original quoted price and rescheduled the initial date prior to the cleaning. Moreover, she said she'd do cash or check, but when I tried to pay with check she attempted to charge an extra $15. Each thing on their own was a hint at what was to come when they cleaned my place, but I decided to see if their cleaning made up for their poor customer service. Unfortunately, it didn't and then some. I should have followed the bad sense I had from the start and not hired them at all.

Took my jeans into get a simple patch and reinforcement along the seam and had my pickup date pushed back 2 times.

On top of this my jeans were shrunk and the owner is now playing hide and seek.

Don't go to this place unless you want your clothes ruined.

We've been using Soap&Suds for over a decade - first for house cleaning, then dry cleaning, and then added regular laundry. Seriously, the value is strong, and Claudia has been nothing if attentive. Sure there have been incidents - 10 years is a long time - but we've always been able to get resolution. It's so great to walk into a very clean home, have my laundry delivered folded and pressed - feel like a king, but my wallet only feels like I'm spending a lot less.

I'm reviewing the services of house cleaning. Per the recommendation of a friend, I contracted Soap and Suds Cleaning Service and overall I expected more. Claudia was prompt and courteous and visited the home to do an assessment. She quoted a price that was a bit high for my standards, but my husband decided he just wanted the cleaning done so we went for it. The day of the cleaning, we decided not to have one of the bedrooms not cleaned and they still charged us the same quoted price for a 2bdrm. The cleaning crew was terrific, working hard and fast, however a few details were missed. For example, underneath the sofa or in corners dust/debri was still visible. ALso the kitchen stovetop was not thoroughly cleaned. I would have liked them to also dust the ceiling fans. Nevertheless, the place was sparkling clean and it is a great feeling to walk into your newly cleaned home. Being that we were first time clients with Soap and Suds, I expected more and a phone call from Claudia post-cleaning to 1) make sure we were happy with the service 2) to ask us to rebook. But none of this happened and for her rate, we'd be happy to shop around for another cleaning service. Nothing to make us loyal customers.
