About the Business
We're proud of our bagels! We make them daily, using all natural ingredients and the traditional method of boiling - before baking. The result is a homemade bagel with no cholesterol, no preservatives, very low fat, and low sodium. We don't use any dough conditioner , only five ingredients: flour, brown sugar , yeast , water and salt!

Good variety of bagels and fillings. Service can be a bit slow especially if you are ordering coffee as the cashier is also the barista. Bagels are soft and fresh.

Went here for breakfast sandwiches before hitting the road. They weren't slammed, and were quick to make our sandwiches and drinks. The coffee was pretty good according to my husband, and the hot chocolate was amazing; the bagel sandwiches were quite tasty. Plus the workers were very friendly. It's a small space, so I'm sure it gets crowded when it's busy, but we came at a good time, apparently.

Barista was somewhat rude. We ordered cappuccinos, and the barista seemed annoyed that we didn't immediately grab the cups from his hands and start making them ourselves. It's all self-service, which is an understandable precaution, but don't try to charge me full price to make my own drink AND act snippy about it.
Bagel was alright, but lukewarm.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Donna D.Highland Park, Rochester, NY05Sep 18, 2020
I do empathize with small businesses operating under Covid restrictions...but the bagels here are oversized and doughy, not even a true bagel, more of a bread/roll. Very disappointing.

The people who own this place deserve a medal for dealing with us. My son changed his mind about his bagel the last minute. Then he dropped a whole glass Snapple on the floor. They were most likely annoyed but didn't act it. The bagels were nice and fresh. Cream cheese was plentiful. My son got a banana and Nutella bagel which was awesome. They had green mountain coffee which is always a score in my book. Wasn't watered down and was fresh. The owner even brought an extra stool over for my husband to sit at. They were nice and the bagels were great. We will be back next time we are in LP

Had a Very Veggie sandwich on a fresh bagel and it was AMAZING!!! Worth every penny. Filling and so very delicious. It was my favorite thing that I ate on my ADK trip. Good iced coffee too. Ate outside at one of the little tables and it was lovely. My friend had a breakfast sandwich that she raved about. Great place!

They get 4 star's because the bagel was good, but the service was not. The woman who waited on us was very rude.

The bagels are delicious! We got the chive and cucumber spread and that was great. The next day we had egg and bacon sandwiches One of the very few places open before 8am. This little breakfast place is one of the reasons that makes Lake Placid so special.

This is the absolute worst bagel coupled with the worst service I have ever had. I walked in and it should have been a red flag that was 8am on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and I was the only one there. Lesson learned. I order an everything bagel toasted with extra cream cheese. The woman behind the counter was clearly incensed that I interrupted her bloody mary (yes, could see and smell it) to place an order.
It was done suspiciously quickly, so I looked at the bagel and it was not toasted and did not have any cream cheese. I said, "I think you misheard me, I ordered an everything bagel, toasted, with extra cream cheese." She proceeded to tell me that is what toasted looks like and "how much cream cheese do you really need?" She threw a small side of cream cheese in my bag and told me I was "lucky" she didn't charge me extra.
At that point (and I had already paid or I would have just walked out), I took it upon myself to provide a life lesson to this angry, (maybe drunk) woman. I advised that when a customer orders something, it is not unreasonable to actually provide for them what they are paying for. Had she charged me extra for cream cheese, I would have gladly paid, as I ordered "extra" cream cheese. Unfortunately there was less than 1/4 tablespoon on the entire bagel. I am attaching photos to confirm. To add salt to the wounds, the bagel was stale and my "everything" bagel was indistinguishable from a plain bagel.
You're better off going to a gas station for your bagels. I look forward to coming back to Lake Placid and seeing that this establishment has gone out of business, as based on the above, it is (hopefully) inevitable.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
