Stumbled upon this gem in the historic district of Fredericksburg. The smoked salmon bagel called out to me so I went with it.
The first thing you notice is how heavy the bagel is. Good sign. The everything bagel was crunchy and chewy. The amount of toppings is usually the make or break of a salmon bagel and here they do not skimp in anything. Cream cheese on the top and bottom slice. Healthy amount of smoked salmon (you're paying $15 so it kills me when they barely put any on). Capers, red onions, hold the dill.
This bagel hit the spot. It took time to finish, it was that hearty. It was calm and quiet but I can see this place getting busy in the mornings. I'll be back to try their savory sandwiches.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicholas D.Stafford, VA138810Feb 11, 2024Updated review
Upper $13 for a bagel breakfast sandwich... be so for real... that is before expected tip too lol. Bagels are NOT made in house like they'd expect you to think. Gentrified NYC bagels... insane
Got uppity vibes here. Really weird. Not fitting of the downtown fxbg experience. Disappointing.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 21, 2023Previous reviewI'm still shocked that I spent over 18 dollars for two bagels with cream cheese. That's it. Absolute insanity. They add a surcharge for paying with credit card to add insult to injury. Most businesses usually eat that cost instead. Bizarre! Also, the bagels aren't even made in house so what is causing their costs to be that insanely high? Katora is right next door and a much better spot, plant based too!

Good breakfast sandwich. Came out to $12+ for a sausage egg and cheese. Quality ingredients and well made but just too pricy for me. Same thing with bagel and smear at $6. Cream cheese shouldn't be $4 imo.
Really hope this place does well. Feel like commenting on price since it might prevent a customer base from being more "regulars".
Well down bagel sandwich in any case!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brady S.Fairfax, VA262293Apr 12, 2024
Good selection and a good bagel, but I feel like the toppings and add ons are grossly over priced.

Woo Hoo! A bagel shop in Fredericksburg!
It did not disappoint.
I am a big fan of pimento cheese, not to mention bacon & pepper jelly, so the Sweet Southern hot sandwich caught my eye right away. I've learned to be a little cautious where pimento cheese is concerned due to the wide fluctuations in taste that I've experienced, but I am so glad I threw caution to the wind. This was a delight for my tastebuds - so very yummy! I had planned to work my way through the menu on subsequent visits, but I'm going to be hard pressed to not just stick with this one every time.
Service was good; all employees I interacted with were very friendly & helpful - offering suggestions since it was my first visit. One of the suggestions - almost as an afterthought - was the banana pudding. If this is not a regular item, let me be the first to say that it needs to be. Very fresh & delicious with the perfect ratio of pudding, bananas, & vanilla wafers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2023First to Review
After learning this place had just opened to the public the day before, I visited on a Friday morning. There was a long line as they opened, and it took about 10 minutes to make it to the order counter. The line continued to be out the door an hour after opening, so it's surely a busy place. It's a pretty plain, low key establishment with acoustic music playing in the background. Two registers are going at one, though the second register is also in charge of making coffee/drinks.
We ordered a lox bagel and a "Classic" with scallion cream cheese and bacon. Both were truly delicious and I didn't feel like they skimped out on ingredients. These bagel sandwiches were truly filling. The only thing I did not enjoy was waiting 23 minutes for my order. Had I been in a rush, this would not have turned out well. Hopefully this was due to the newness of the shop and not indicative of the pace at which they'll move things in the future. For now, I'd go back and check it out again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - J E.Stafford, VA9225049483Sep 5, 2023
I had heard very positive things about this new bagel café and have been wanting to give it a try, so I stopped in on a weekday morning for a breakfast sandwich.
When I got there, around 9AM there was no one there, but there was a full compliment of employees, which made me wonder "why so many employees with no business?!?!" But within 10 mins after placing my order and sitting down, the place was packed! And rightly so, the food was great, so was the venue, service, and my Americano!
I opted for their red pepper jalapeño bagel made into their breakfast sandwich with their homemade sage sausage on it. It was made fresh (and piping hot) when I ordered it, but I didn't have to wait too long. The egg was real, not some frozen patty that's microwaved and the combo was excellent! Definitely something I'll come back to get again! The bagel was great! Texture, flavor, and density were spot on!
Definitely would suggest stopping in... I'll be back!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Cynthia S.Fredericksburg, VA61147287Jan 2, 2024
Yum! More brunchy places like this are needed in FXBG. Only complaints, wish they had more plant based opinions for vegans & that they stayed open till 3:30 or so!

We stopped by with a group of 9 for bagels. We had a large variety of bagels and cream cheese, quinoa multigrain with blueberry cream cheese, veggie with veggie cream cheese, coleslaw and many others. We all really enjoyed our bagels and the coffee was ok but not great. We were hoping to try some of the lunch options but were a bit too early.
We also left a fun painted rock in the bagel shaped book box.
Will be back for more bagels.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
