Spa 920 Glenview

Got a dip manicure through Groupon and it was pretty good! Renee (?) was so precise and really took her time which I appreciated greatly. She also kept checking in throughout the manicure to make sure it was going the way I hoped (shape, length, thickness, color). All of the tools are clean and she kept sanitizing the tools and my skin before any contact, which is unfortunately hard to see these days at other salons. The manicure did start to lift near the cuticles around the 3-week mark (usually I easily go over 4 weeks without lifting at my other salon). Parking can look a little tricky but there is some street parking right in front of the spa. Still, I would come back to see her because it's nice to finally find a nail tech who isn't in a huge rush!

I was a first time client and really wanted to relax and try the Japanese head treatment. The minute I was trying to zone out I was highly pitched about services they offer and what I should do and get - finally I had to ask her can I please just enjoy this service!
They are just very pushy for me!!

Don't trust the 5 star rating!

If hell was a seat it would be at this nail salon.

I spent 3 hours here just for a pedicure and manicure.

I never judge a book by its cover I decided to give this place an opportunity despite the fact that they only had a small selection of dip powder. I understand completely the shop recently opened up. But do not display products if you do NOT have it at your location:
That is false advertisement.

I fell victim to the owner who was very polite however had no idea what she was doing with my nails she should just specialize in hair care instead of nails.

Firstly; usually when I get a pedicure it consists of a massage,& a foot callus remover. She scrubbed my feet for less than 30 seconds, I still have callus on my feet.

Second: The manicure was the most dreadful.
I asked for a dip manicure coffin shape, and had picked out a green which I realized after didn't look like the display, so we switched over to white. She gave me egg shaped lemon soup nails and was extremely rough to my skin to the point my cuticles themselves were breaking off( I wish she put that energy into the callus off my feet) she even pointed it out that my skin was breaking from her roughness!!!

When I asked her to just do 2 layers of dip powder because I didn't want them to appear thick she kept insisting to put on 3, and blamed the layer of powder as a result in why she couldn't shape my nails to coffin but rather an egg.

It felt more like a surgical procedure than a relaxing spa. I hope this business thrives and the owner gets more clientele so she can gain more experience in nails.

Not a big fan of this place anyway. I used to come to this pace for their Japanese head spa - which I found inferior to what I used to experience in NYC anyways. I'm giving an one star because of the owner. She canceled my appointment b/c they decided to take a day off (as if I did not have life and work to make this reservation)... she behaved as if she was giving a service for free. I have more reasons to list here but I don't thing they are worth my time anymore. DON'T come to this place - the owner needs to learn how to run business.

Finally!!! For 15 years I've been trying to find a hair stylist that can give me a great haircut; every-time has been a fail...until Calvin. I couldn't fully express in this review how grateful I am that I ended up trying Spa 920. When I said I received a fantastic haircut, I mean from wash to finish Calvin gave my hair *love*. No strand left untouched, he performed a *work of art* on my dying, difficult and sad hair and turned me into one happy lady who will never again go anywhere else for an amazing, satisfying haircut. Calvin, you are the man!! Thank you Spa 920 for renewing my hope for my hair!

I love a welcoming spa. the staff was friendly and pleasant. A warm neck was place on my neck as the technician took her time , with an attention to detail and gave a an amazing Gel x manicure.

I have gotten multiple men's haircuts here. They do a meticulous job with great results and take the necessary time to get great results. I definitely recommend this place.

ZERO STARS. Let me reiterate that this place is a big fat ZERO, and only if I could select zero stars. Where should I begin? I made an appointment for my sister and I for their Japanese Head Spa hair treatment. Appointment was for 3 PM. We arrived on time, were told to have a seat, and were attended to 15 minutes later. We changed in to the gown provided, sat in our chairs, technician used a device on my sister's scalp to show her scalp to her. Then, my technician used the SAME device for me except before she could use it, another customer who was getting services called out to her. She dropped everything and attended to the needs of the other customer while I sat in my chair waiting. 30 minutes later I decided to change back in my clothes. Let me point out, this technician did NOT communicate with me all the while I was waiting nor apologized. An hour in my appointment, the other customer left, and the technician set behind the desk using her phone, still absolutely no apology or explanation. Now, the other technician while applying a treatment to my sister's hair happened to drop the brush and she didn't clean it, instead she continued to use the same brush. Also, this technician couldn't be communicated with becauseshe did not speak English at all. My sister's ears were burning from the steam and when attempted to speak with the technician, this person did not understand what was being said. When I tried to get attention of the other technician, I did not succeed until 5 minutes later. 1.5 hours in to our appointment, I still did not receive an apology nor acknowledgement of being provided extremely terrible service. Lastly, we ushered in to the side of the salon to change and that area had a camera but when the other client was leaving, I saw that she actually went inside a room (I'm assuming a bathroom?) to change. As a consumer, I have never experienced this type of disgusting service! I am beyond disappointed.

I came here for the Japanese scalp treatment which was amazing! During the treatment they massage your head and upper back which made me feel relaxed. After My head and hair felt so clean and lighter. I highly recommend coming here for a Japanese scalp treatment .

The scalp treatment (also known as scalp massage or head spa) was an hour of pure bliss.
