Irani chai matches the taste of chai you get in Hyderabad. Osmani biscuits were very crisp. Both are top.

Questionable Ambiance! The restaurant was unfortunately smelly! My kids wouldn't bother to sit, and we were in and out in under a minute.

I'm surprised this hasn't been addressed, and they are allowed to operate this way.

This was my second time trying this place. The first time I only tried the outside Street food which my experience was great as well. Let me warn you though, don't be like me and ask for spicy because my tongue was on fire. LOL.
This time around we are inside and had the Dosa with some dipping sauces. They are big portions so I'd advise to share and maybe order a different dish. It's a fun place to share and try different things. We honestly didn't really know how to order but the staff was very helpful.
This place is casual. Outside has music and chairs and heaters on a cold day. There's so much more I would like to try. I recommend this place. Great food and full of flavor and spice.

So this is our "go to" for pani puri stall style. The line moves fast, and gives you a chance to have small talk with other patrons. The Chai is good, some of the better chai options in the area. The music is always lively, and the staff really try to accommodate for weather conditions. They built a rain shelter so folks don't get too wet while they eat. The indoors and outdoors act separate from each other, but really a great way to keep things moving.

Enjoyed the 3 ft dosa here! They also have some games to get free items/ discounts that's fun for kids. Their vadas are also good, not spicy.

This is my usual go-to place if I'm craving Dosa or South Indian for Lunch during work week. The ghee masala dosa, in particular, emerges as a star attraction, with its golden-brown exterior giving way to a sumptuous filling of spiced potatoes, all enveloped in a delicate layer of clarified butter. In addition to its stellar dosa offerings, the place also serves very good lunch and dinner thalis..

TLDR : Great food, good options for south indian thali and wonderful service.
We visited Ananda Bhavan for lunch and had a wonderful experience. The thali was good with multiple options and each of the options were good.
Their filter coffee was nice and strong.

Went to AB after 2 years, and the fact that their Dahi Vadas and filter coffee continue to taste divine is testament enough to their consistent food quality.

We were extremely hungry and felt adventurous enough to try two new items this time around-
(a) Fried mini Idly with Sambar- Maybe it is just me, but I'm not sold on the idea of coating mini idly with gunpowder and deep frying it, only to dunk it in sambar. I'll stick to the OG soft and fluffy mini idlis next time.
(b) Mini meals- pleasantly surprised by the generous portions of bisibelebath, biryani and curd rice. The crispy tapioca chips that came with the rice were simply too good!
