We got the cheese steak cali style (with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles, and mayo), a strawberry shake, and a root beer float. The cheese steak was really good: the cheese was nice and melty, there was a large portion of steak, the cali style had the perfect combo of veggies and I love the finishing touch of mayo on the roll. The root beer float was delicious and refreshing and normally, you can't beat a Stewart's root beer on a giant scoop of vanilla ice cream, however, the strawberry shake did (unfortunately) beat out the OG float for us. It was nice and sweet, refreshing, and had the right creamy consistency you'd expect from the perfect milkshake, it also had slices of strawberry mixed, which I thought was a nice finishing touch.
Definitely will be grabbing a growler of root beer the next time we swing back to Vineland, NJ.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roberta Y.Willingboro, NJ1635Mar 30, 2024
I should have taken a photo of the "pizza steak". One flat slice of steak meat. Tomato sauce on it. It didn't even look like a pizza steak the cook would even eat. The roll was nice but ruined by the apparent lack of cooking skills here. This place sucks. They should have paid me $15. to eat that bullshit. And I couldn't eat it all. Get out of the food business, the cook would do better greeting customers at Walmart.

This is my second time coming to 'Stewart's RootBeer Drive-In'. My first time was in 2000 & I had a fish sandwich and an orange float. It was so yummy. This time 2023, I had a hotdog & fries with an orange float & that was so delicious. Plus the service was excellent & fast paced & the server was so welcoming & nice too. This place is like the 50's so it's nice for a date for brunch or dinner, which ever you prefer. If it was up to me I'd do both lol. Anyways I would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know. Go down to Stewart's & have yourself a 'Orange Float'. You won't be disappointed, trust me it's very delicious & you'll be going back there more often for more & more deliciousness!!

This place has always been around and it's a pretty simple place and simple menu but they have everything for everybody. They have hotdogs, grilled cheese, pizza, mozzarella sticks, a fish sandwich, a crabcake their California cheeseburger, which is her signature have french fries with her crinkle cut. They are delicious and crispy And perfectly deep-fried they also have some hot cheese similar to cheese whiz that they throw on top and if you order a brown cow, it is your signature a root beer float that's the licious they typically serve it in a frosty cold mug. It REALLY hits the SPOT.
Stewart's root beer open for business every day 11 AM to 8 PM only closed on Sundays.
They are wonderful and they do car side window service with the tray or if you want to take it to go they'll pop it in the bag for you they even have a cheesesteak which is a little steep in my opinion, but I'm willing to give it a shot and try it. It's around seven dollars but I have to think if it's anywhere as delicious as their Grilled chicken cutlet sandwich or their signature California cheeseburger, i'm sure it's going to be delicious. Tonight my mom has a California cheeseburger. It was grilled to perfection and delicious. I took a leap of faith and got their grilled chicken cutlet sandwich. They are all served on a regular size hamburger bun and they are very filling you can get any topping on them from lettuce, tomato onion, pickle or your choice of American or mozzarella cheese I thought I was still going to be hungry however, I am pleasantly full. I am excited to go back and this summer is going to be the best now to spread the word so we can all meet up at Stewart's root beer are you Gotta do is pull in put your lights on and a nice server will greet you at your car side
Tonight, we had the pleasure of dining with Strati. He read our order back to us. He offered suggestions and he was very pleasant and kind. We briefly discussed some items on the menu and he even came with extra napkins, which was helpful because eating in a car can get messy. While we enjoyed our food, we saw one young man come out and swept up. Another young man came out and took out the trash, and they are very cleanly and mindful of keeping the place spotless, which is nice to see.
We are Looking forward to many more visits this summer.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Pamela W.Mastic Beach, NY2201May 23, 2023
Absolutely charming throwback drive in and eat. I enjoyed the staff's hospitality and would definitely recommend this place to any and all that love that retro experience. The food was very well done for what the place is, that's not suggesting it's just ok, far from it. The food is great, especially the crinkly fries, along with chili dog I had-just really good.

Lot of history here. Service is good, ingredients are consistent over time. A good option during COVID and while a little pricier than you'd expect, it is a neat throwback. Stick with the basics (fries, basic burger, and a vanilla shake) and you're set.

An American classic, crunchy, smoky, flavorful dog on a toasted bun, perfect, and there no better root beer can be had and all wrapped up in that classic orange bungalow, wow!! Dad would take us to Stewart's before we moved to Atlanta in 1962 and every time I'm back in Jersey, I stop by.

Been wanting to go here since it's around the corner from my house and it looks to have a nice 70s vibe with the drive in service and all. The staff were very friendly but the food was just average. People have been raving about the California burgers but they were really 'just ok.' The patty was very thin, similar to something you may get from a fast food chain restaurant for $1.00, nonetheless it has some flavor. The fries on the other hand tasted like they were soaked in oil. There was nothing flavorful or good about them. They lacked any flavor and had no salt.
I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here unless you've never been here and you just want to experience having someone walk to your car and having the food sit outside your window to bring back old memories of your childhood. I didn't try the shakes or root beer in which I hear they're very well known for also. However, my experience with the food items won't have me coming back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Rob F.Jacksonville, FL1226990Apr 1, 2017Updated review
This is a place I grew up enjoying as a kid & so did my mom! Home of Stewart's Root Beer & one the last true drive-ins not drive thru!
The original owner started making something they call a scramburger ... It's exactly what it sounds like ... Ground beef scrambled up on a griddle. And you can't find these anywhere else in the U.S. They create a pocket in a kaiser roll & stuff it full of delish meat!! You can add onions & ketchup if you want it!!
You drive-in to a spot & turn on your headlights to let them know you're ready for service. Not an overwhelming list of items on the menu but the food they offer is enough for everyone to get get something thye like. But why would you come here for anything else but the scramburgers?! LoL
I recommend a tall, frosty mug of their Root Beer to wash down the food -- just seems to be fitting on top of the scramburger & great Crinkle-Cut Fries. The food takes less than 10 mins to deliver & they bring it out on a tray that fits on your car window - just like the old movies from the 50's!
One thing to note - this is a seasonal joint so come between Memorial Day & Labor Day or else you'll miss out on something great!!
I keep coming back year-after-year to get these wonderful one-of-a-kind scramburgers & I'm never disappointed!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 23, 2015Previous reviewThis is a place I grew up enjoying as a kid & so did my mom! Stewart's is literally my favorite spot in Burlington during the summer months. The California cheeseburger is spot on with special sauce and chopped onions. Sometimes I get a pork roll and cheese to switch it up and they are soooo good and inexpensive.
Stewart's is also the home of root beer floats or black cows.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
