Stone Care Paving and Masonry

this company is a scam. do not hire. they came door knocking, and started a job, took a lot of money upfront and never came back. do not pay this vendor or any vendor money upfront before the job is done.

Hired Stone Care Paving and Masonry to rebuild my front stairs. The end result, TERRIBLE. Not built to code, the stairs are different heights! There a gaps between the stone raisers that need mortar. I have emailed them with no response. The did not get a building permit. Had the building inspector try to contact them. But was told if they are not licensed there is nothing they can do. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I need to have the stair taken down and rebuild again, this time to code by a licensed contractor. An expensive lesson to learn, so make sure you get a licensed contractor, they file a building permit, and do not pay until the building inspector checks the work done. BEWARE..I wish I could give zero stars.

The worse contractor that I have ever worked with.
The provided a price and scope of work for a job and they 1) did not start on time 2) did not complete the entire scope of work 3) any work they did complete had to be redone 4) continually argued and tried to convince me they did the work which was visible they did not complete 5) owner told me his guy said he was done without coming to look at the end 6) owner indicated this a good quality job which was absolutely ridiculous claim
very unreliable, unorganized, continually changed their plan.
I would never hire them and feel sorry for anyone that trusts them to do a job.
At the end I just paid them so they would leave and brought in a capable contractor to complete the job, redid all of their work to complete the job and still was a lower cost then there cost

They failed to finish the job. The remaining work costs $3000 to have finished by another contractor. If you do hire Stone Care Paving and Masonry, do not pay them until 100% of the work is done. They asked for payment and said they only had an hour of work to complete. But never came back. This "hour" of work is what cost $3000. Alas, some of the work they did was not to code, and had to be redone. They also failed to cleanup the site afterwards. The cleanup, was clearly stated in their written quote.

Unfortunatley, their reason For not cleaning up the site became apparent when we had someone haul away the debris from the prior walkway. They had spilled cement on the driveway and it had hardened. We have yet to repair the driveway from this.

So lease take care when considering this group, they are a friendly bunch to start, but it did not end well for us.

What a bunch of Incompetent clowns.

These guys are fraudsters and you should ABSOLUTELY trust the other reviewers, as there is a pattern of behavior here. Not only did they take a ridiculously long time to do the work, but then they pressured my wife to pay them before the job was done, claiming they needed to pay the Illegal workers that were doing the work. After payment they have since ignored our calls and failed to complete the work.

These guys are as bad as they get, do not hire them, do not trust them.

I will be pursuing them legally, as they took advantage of my wife in getting paid before they finished the work, saying "you can trust us"

Hired this company to do our front steps and sidewalk. They assured us they could put our posts and railings back on afterwards. They took weeks to comeback (after we hounded them) to do the railings. After a failed attempt at drilling into the granite, they tried to GLUE the railings back on and left. The railings literally came off in our hands, nothing was bolted down. We reached out to Thomas, he apologized, said someone would be down to do it correctly. It has been weeks of excuses and no one has showed up. We will now have to buy new railings (since the original ones were cut incorrectly and no longer meet building code requirements) and pay for a professional to install them. In addition, we noticed 3 mistakes in the stone pattern. They did a messy job connecting the sidewalk to the driveway and used bark mulch instead of dirt where the grass meets up to the sidewalk. We were told they would fill in with dirt. First rain washed that out. Stay away from this unreliable company!

Will quote you, and come up with few reasons every-time to not be able to finish the work and stop responding to you completely. Go check Google reviews to talk to other people they left mid job and ask for 40% more of the quoted price.
