Sundaes Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor

Update: we've gone back for food. Still amazingly affordable and the fries are FANTASTIC. Burgers, chicken tenders, wraps - all good sized and tasty. Seems they do diner-type specials (hot open faced Turkey, pastas, etc) and just the friendliest staff. We love it here!

*note the business hours have changed and they are now only open until 7:30 or 7 I believe.

We visited this place with some family and it was our first time there. We were a large table of 8.. and our food was very good. I liked how they had a variety of kids meals at a good price, my husband and I ordered chicken wraps which were delicious. The Atmosphere was cool, with lots of car show decor. It felt like an American Diner. Our waitress was the only downfall- she was extremely rude and acted as though we were bothering her by just placing our orders. We asked for our bill to be separated before even ordering, and I think that may have set her off.
The place was busy, and the sign on the door said that they are only open until 7:30. It was 7:00 when we finally left. She was in such a rush to close I think and acted like we were in her way when she actually pushed her way past us... physically... We all got the vibe that she was inconvenienced by us.. she rolled her eyes. And she wasn't even friendly to the other staff working.
The food was the pro, but when going out to eat it's more of the experience that makes it worth while.. the experience here was lacking.
*note* no credit or debit purchases under $20.. something to note if you're considering going also.

one year later. May 28 2023; Yelp says open till 8. we arrived 7:15 closed!!!
This is not the wY to run a business. the food has been good and ice cream is great, larger portions than last year. but get your hours right on line so people dont drive for nothing.

Have been going to this place for years and never had a problem until recently. Ice cream used to be huge portions for a cheap price. Just payed $17 for a medium ice cream, a small with sprinkles, and a small soft serve also with sprinkles. Girls taking/making ice cream orders have gotten my order wrong the last 4 times and when i tell them in a polite manner that this isn't what i ordered, they give major attitude back. they most likely get the order wrong because half the time while they are taking/making it, they are chatting up a storm.

I had the sandwich special, a pulled pork belly-filling thing of amazing. They also have decent onion rings, but their fries are better (I LOVE the fries)
Really great milkshakes.

My husband had the burger, he said it was good.

I was way too full to get an icecream :( ... so I have to go back again soon!

Cutest 50s style diner/parlor ever! Neat, clean and such a fun environment! A young staff that struggles to move you along, but pleasant as can be! The ice cream is great, with quite the array of flavors in both their own soft serve, and Perry's hard. Creative flavors offered, but a little bland for what's expected by the names on the soft serve. Wish the flavors were stronger! The texture is just perfect! Highly recommend everyone tries it, and believe you won't be disappointed in this experience - feeling like a real throwback to the past! Worth the drive to this little town!

Nice place to get a quick bite for reasonable prices. Food was good, got a buffalo grilled chicken wrap & my boyfriend got a fried chicken wrap. Both were good. Sort of weird that fries are $3.5 extra, for some reason. Ice cream was great.

Wow. Wow! WOW! Sundaes has some of the best ice cream I've ever had. I was visiting the area for the weekend and when I found out this place was down the road, I had to go. I don't want to say I'm an ice cream expert, but I sure do enjoy trying to be. The staff were awesome with efficiency and helpfulness for our group that was visiting. The ice cream itself was absolutely delicious. They offer soft and hard ice cream, but the soft serve variety is incredible. I've never seen so many options for soft serve. They were also very accommodating when I requested a dipped ice cream in a bowl since I can't eat cones. This is absolutely worth the stop if you're near Grand Gorge or visiting.

Tasteless ice cream. I think they forgot to put the flavoring in the vanilla. it tasted like plain white goop . The nut topping was very salty. Not much to the ice cream not much to the toppings.

Offered choice of fries or mashed potatoes with order of hot "turkey" sandwich (turkey cold cuts), only to discover scoop of cold, lumpy mashed potatoes with gravy was an additional charge of $5.25 ($4.25 for the potatoes, $1.00 for the gravy.) WTH!
