I've been coming here for just about 6 months and I am never disappointed. The staff is so friendly, the salon is so clean, and the talent is even better. I'm always surprised with what they recommend for me when I have no ideas, and when I do come with an idea in mind, their execution is impeccable. I would recommend this salon to anyone!

I went in to get a simple (male) manicure. I have been to many nail salons in New York City and I know what to expect.

The person who helped me rushed through the whole process. I must have been in and out in 15 minutes. She was so careless that twice she hurt my nail base by over-filing. As my hand winced from the discomfort both times she gave me attitude about it and commented in another language with the person next to me. I don't know why they think it's acceptable to speak a different language in front of customers. (Yes, this is considered acceptable in every nail salon under the sun).

The quality of the filing was mediocre. I had to point out spots she missed a couple of times and then I had to finfish the job myself at home.

After the manicure, she gave me a sample massage, which was joke. She was "caressing" my shoudlers... She had ZERO clue how to give a proper massage, so naturally I declined.

When I finally left I was shocked to have to pay $18 for this crappy service and of course you have to tip $4 on top of that. And she insisted, almost demanded, that I pay cash. When I insisted to pay with CC she said it was going to be more, so I gave in and gave her cash plus her 22% tip. What a racket.

Sunshine Nail Salon has great potential, and under different management they could be as great as Sufu Nail Salon was (the nail salon that occupied this same location for years). They have phone stands for your cell phones, stylus pens for your cell phones, baskets for your handbag. They have tons of colors to choose from, though I found it very difficult to find a neutral color with a pink undertone in the powder gel.

With all of this potential, they treat some people like peasants and some like royalty. Every time I go to the salon I make an appointment. Well when I last went, I made an appointment, I saw seen about 5 minutes after I arrived, then a nail technician started to remove my gel nails. A woman walked in without an appointment and that same technician directed their attention to her. After soaking my nails for 30 minutes I asked when someone was as going to continue working on my nails. I was told when Jiang finishes her current client, well after Jiang finishes her client, she sits in my chair and then her client decides she now wants a pedicure! Now it's been 50 mins since I arrived and 45 mins since I've been soaking, I asked again and was told someone else would do my nails, that technician starts working on my nails and then stops, and someone else sits down. And at this point I vocalized I only want one person working on my nails. They said they understood and yet switched again. Before I left 5 different nail technicians had serviced me. And 5 clients who walked in after me with varying services all completed their services before mine.

My tip for Management is that they speak to staff about treating everyone equal! All of our US dollar is worth the same value. If the policy is to switch technicians throughout everyone's service, make that clear to every customer and do that to every customer not just those of color! This is a horrible practice.

Best nail salon ever. They make sure to put in their best work every time and I always leave with a big smile on my face. 10/10 hospitality and the friendliest staff. They also give you complimentary back massages!! Couldn't recommend coming here enough :)
