This may sound crazy but, I think I had the best quesadilla of my life here.
Nestled in another run of the mill strip mall, Taqueria Lola looks really small from the street...almost as if its a takeout only kind of place. Once you enter though, you can see that beyond the counter and kitchen is ample seating as you look toward the back.
We ordered Al Pastor tacos and a chicken quesadilla. I suppose we waited about 10 mins for the food to come, no issues there. The tacos were good, but were lacking in the filling. Still good, I just think they should have put more meat. The beans and rice were okay, cant say that they made any sort of impression on me.
But that quesadilla tho. I can't sit here and say that there was some sort of special ingredient, cause there wasn't. Sometimes you just know when something is better than good, and this was it. We loved the place and definitely plan to go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jamie M.Vienna, VA1192Oct 8, 2023
Just had lunch and it was so delicious. The quesadilla and tortas were particularly good but the game stopper is the guacamole. Omg it's so good we got an order to go for after. We had such a good time with the staff and everyone was so nice.
There was also soccer and football on all of the TVs which my husband appreciated.
We'll be back for sure!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claudia D.Richmond, VA217105Sep 22, 2023
I would recommend getting the chicken and beef tacos they are all phenomenal and well seasoned. The hot sauces served on the side has a nice kick too which definitely elevated the taco. We also got guacamole and nachos which were very tasty. They are under new management now and a lot of changes have been implemented which is nice! The atmosphere is awesome and they are always playing lively hispanic music at all hours of the day. Definitely check them out one night

Taqueria Senora Lola had the most amazing food, friendliest staff, and great environment. I highly recommend for a fun night out with friends. Get the BBQ tacos, you won't be disappointed.

If I could put 0 stars I absolutely would. My girlfriend and I ordered take out for 6 tacos. We let them know we needed all tacos with no tomato due to an allergy!
We pick up our tacos and go home and all of the tacos have tomato on them (we waited 20 minutes for the tacos and drove home 10 minutes) once we realized the tacos were wrong we drove up there and asked for a refund on the tacos as they made them wrong and we now have no trust in the establishment to make anything correctly so we wanted a refund instead of remaking the food. When we get there and ask for a refund they get extremely ignorant and rude and let us know they can't do that and also refused to remake the food at this point. I would strongly recommend anyone to stay away from this place and go a few blocks up the street to the taco truck or a different taco restaurant. $40 down the drain all because they're too cheap to issue a refund. Given their circumstances I'm sure they need it a lot more than we do.DO NOT EAT HERE!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Erin R.Washington, DC313100035Sep 20, 2019First to Review
A brand spanking new taco joint in North Del Ray. I'll start with the food and then move on to other deets.
Food:
There are three spits of meat going here, one for the steak, one for the chicken and one for the al pastor. We ordered:
Guac: A huge pile of guac with a decent kick to it. Not cheap (around $12) and was served with what seemed to be their tortialls cut into triangles and mostly fried. There weren't enough 'chips' and actual chips would have been better IMO, but the guac itself was good
Al Pastor taco: We didn't got a ton of meat on our 2 tacos, possibly because they were already running out of pastor at 630. Nice charring due to the spit roast. The taco shells while I think made in house were thicker than I like personally. The table red and green salsas to go with the tacos are both fairly spicy.
Chicken taco: Good but dry - I'm not sure how ones keeps rotisserie meat from drying out (maybe a basting process?) but this could have used it. Tasty when loaded up with the salsa
Pork Quesadilla: My friend ordered this for herself and her little boy to split. They both really liked it
Venue:
You can tell they put some TLC into this place. It's a carry out vibe up front and a sit down vibe in back. Every chair and bench is custom embroidered with their business logo and has a unique scene painted on the back.
I'd love to see some descriptions of items on the menu - with our guac we weren't sure what it would come with - and to have bi-lingual text on there for us non spanish speakers.
Service:
I met the owner when I popped in before dinner to just check out the menu - he's hustling and said they are hiring a manager next week which is good because.... our service was flat out bad. There was a total language barrier so a bit of our order was wrong (I ordered 1 al pastor but she put in 2 for me ) and if you want tap water you'll get a bottle unless you ask for agua del grifo. Language aside, our server never really came to check on us, when only got 1 set of silverware for 4 people, left the quesadilla at the kitchen (I had to go ask for it) and didn't take our bill despite walking past our table multiple times in a not full restaurant.
All in all, I think this place has potential, they clearly care about the food they are making and just need to work out some new restaurant kinks. Go check them out, support a local business and see what you think!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jacqueline B.Penn Quarter, Washington, DC0101Feb 9, 2020
I am very excited to finally find an authentic taco place in Virginia. There are no thrills but the tacos are on point. I highly recommend for anyone who grew up with street tacos. I had the all pastor and carnitas tacos, both were very good.

Came here after a neighbor recommended it. It's fantastic! Service was very quick, the food was very good. You gotta get the rice and beans with your meal, they were so good.
