We came here on a Friday night. Almost all tables full. We did find a table and were quickly greeted. The 2 servers did a nice job going between all the tables.
Most of the menu is either veal or pork schnitzel. They have a few other choices along with a daily special. Luckily we love schnitzel!
I got plain schnitzel served with German potato salad. I also ordered a side of red cabbage. Wife got schnitzel with pepper gravy and bread dumplings. Kids got schnitzel and fries. Schnitzel was fried up perfectly and tender. I got a side is spicy mustard to dip and that was excellent. I really liked their potato salad. It had great depth of flavor. The red cabbage was sweet and savory and hit the spot. I was very happy.
The bread dumpling reminded me of stuffing. If you like stuffing you will like those. Kids loved the fries. They had a nice seasoning on them and could tell they had just been fried. Everyone had a great meal.
Some things to know ahead. Soda comes in cans so no free refills. If you pay cash you pay menu price, otherwise a little more for card. The big beer steins also looked good!
This is a great local German place. Come get you some Schnitzel!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cassandra S.Cornelius, NC152217543Nov 13, 2023
Sehr gut! Dankeschön authentic and delicious German food in the heart of Brandon! What a hidden gem! Service was quick and the food was great. Small inside (probably 15 tables), but cozy in a good way. The menu has a good variety. A few things to note:
Limited seating, probably not great for large parties unless you plan ahead.
Soda is by the can, not on a fountain.
German chocolate cake is *authentic*--therefore not the Americanized version you may be expecting.
limited parking up front but more in the back.
Come expecting some authentic German food. Yummy schnitzel, delicious cabbage and flavorful bread dumplings.
Don't skip this spot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 25, 2023
Fantastic spot for authentic German food!
The restaurant is a small, intimate space - not very crowded on a weekday night though I can see it being busier on the weekends.
I had the potato leek soup, pretzel appetizer, jaeger schnitzel, and apple strudel all of which were excellent! Everything is served piping hot and freshly made - the schnitzel and spaetzle were particularly good. Fairly large portion size and I still devoured it all!
For the portion size and quality of food, its fairly priced and well worth it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 2023
My friends and I went here this Thursday and honestly it left much to be desired. The menu is extremely limited. If you don't like pork, you have slim to almost no options.
I ended up just getting the pretzel and mustard sauce but couldn't even finish that because the pretzel was just too salty.
The beer menu was basically obsolete, and I ended up just getting whatever the closest wheat beer they had. The beer itself was good, but I just wanted something else to go with it.
The waitress was good, she came to our table many times and was patient while we continued to look over the menu and make a decision.
We got there right at their opening (4:30PM) so they were not busy. There were a few people who came in during our time there.
I don't think that I would go back just because I felt there was not a lot of choices.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 27, 2023
Ate here tonight for a friends get together. I've been here before and I just am not very impressed with this place. The Ambiance is good and authentic German. We were there on a Tuesday night so not very crowded. The staff was helpful and attentive and kept our glasses full. My only gripe was the food. It's just ok. I like German food but there are better options in the area. I would not choose to come back here again.

German food is very different from American food and if you don't know it, it's unusual to eat such good German food, which is hot and tasty. What I have never experienced in any restaurant here is that the food is hot.

It was my birthday yesterday and it was significant one :) As a German visiting.
Florida it was very special to be in a German environment . When we arrived there, it was busy and the only table available was the one right by the entrance door, normally I don't care where I sit but as I said it was a special day for me. As we were waiting, two tables became available and since we had not ordered it was going to be an easy switch. This one server with fire red hair asked us with a not so nice face expression "WHY ". You don't ask why!! You just do it!! Yes, the German experience was VERY authentic :)
The food was good especially the sauerkraut, the rest was good to but a bid salty. I am an excellent cook, so my review is done honestly and true.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janice F.Tampa, FL301Feb 12, 2024
Tasty! Soup was so creamy and delicious! Had the special and it was a big serving. Dessert was good, too. Will come back!

A great family owned and run local restaurant. The food is delicious and the portions plentiful. This is located in a type of small strip mall with a couple of other restaurants so if you have a group with diverse tastes you can split up and make everyone happy. I normally get some type of schnitzel but opted to branch out and try the goulash. It was tasty and a fun place to eat.
