I can't say enough nice things about Marcia and Taxes N Books. From the very beginning of our interaction they were courteous, helpful and professional. An absolute pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be back next year.

I was a bit of a mess coming to them (taxes stress me out), but the friendly receptionist (I'm so sorry I don't remember your name!) was patient and helpful over the phone helping set up the soonest appointment she could.

I arrived a little early for my appointment and Marcia saw me right away. She and the receptionist were both very welcoming and made me feel comfortable immediately. Our whole appointment was under an hour and she found me every single deduction she could and saved me lots of money. The service and peace of mind she provides is well worth it. Just go see her!

They are located in a lovely Victorian and the office is even more charming inside. Parking on the street out front is metered but it looks like there is parking behind the building.

Really disappointed in the way I was treated. You will have a difficult time exchanging reasonable dialogue w/ the person answering the phones at this business.
I'm glad to have experienced their poor business acumen before filing my taxes through them. I can't imagine what it would be like if a serious matter arose (e.g.-letter from the IRS) and actually needed their support.

This company has gone downhill like a black diamond ski slope. Used them last year and had a great experience. Brought our paperwork in six weeks ago and the only correspondence UNTIL today has been to tell us our assigned tax person is out.
Today 4/18 we were finally told our taxes were ready at 4:30! Not even enough time to go pick them up. Had to print at home and rush to the post office downtown to get a them mailed.
I'm VERY disappointed in their work and definitely Will NOT be using TAXES'N Books again. I would Not recommend this company.
I had to give it one star to post but that's overrated.

It took a very long time to get our taxes back. There was conflicting information when you called on occasion. The people were not always very nice. However they did work very hard on our taxes and they helped us (hubby and I) out a lot on our refunds.

I had major tax issues and spent outrageous amount of money without getting a thing accomplished! Jacque and her team was able to resolve my taxes from years back 10-12 years being corrected. Went from owing $150k to getting $$$ back. I can sleep and live stress free knowing there many options to get back on track.
Thank you and I will refer as many people family and friends! 3 hr drive is worth it!!
Now starting an S-Corp with all the help from Taxes N Books.
I would highly recommend them to anyone who may have any type of challenges.

Not the same quality of service since the owner passed in early 2021. My returns were flawless until then. The last two year's filing contained errors. This year I went from expecting a tax refund of $500 to an amount due of $900. No assistance was offered when I brought it to their attention last year. I have left a message with them again this year and hope that their response offers more that the last.

1st update 5/9/2022: Received call from Monica at the Sacramento office. Was told it was my fault for not providing them with accurate information. Informed her that the liability must be shared due to her lack of due diligence. She was very defensive stating there was no error in the filing. Well.... the IRS and I beg to differ.

Monica refused to provide me the business owner's name stating she, "didn't know" who the owner was. Employees are refusing to provide current owner's name!!!! No wonder they have not updated the business owner's profile since Judy passed away. Monica refused to provide any further contact information and stated she would inform Marsha that I wanted to speak with her. I was then given an extremely reluctant apology from Monica. You know, the kind you get when you have to ask for one. Shady. I will update this review as deserved. Wish I could give this business a ZERO star rating.

2nd update 5/9/2022. Received call from Monica stating that Marsha was extremely busy and that they would take care of any interest charges (since my tax PAYMENT is now overdue). Monica didn't know how, but said they would cover it. Strangely, the now abundant insincere apologies flew without prompting. After confirming that I would never hear from Marsha, I was offered to contact the "owner" Nathan. Still wish I could give this business a ZERO star rating.

Based upon a phone conversation that I had with Katie, I knew that within the first few minutes that this was the company that I would be using as I create and grow my business. Katie went above and beyond every other CPA firm that I had called in Sacramento ( and there were many that I called or emailed ) and ensured that I will be with them almost immediately!!

Marcia has been doing our taxes for more than 10 years and I'm always happy with the results and she's returns your call/ email promptly and always maximise our return

I want to let everyone know that Peggy Smith is an Awesome person to do their taxes. She's very kind, outgoing and a caring person. She goes out of her way to lend a hand where its needed. I recommend everyone in Ca to call her right now and make a appointment She's truly Amazing and she will ALWAYS have me as her client

It seems like a common theme here is that Peggy is awesome. There's a reason why that sentiment is echoed so many times. She seriously is awesome! I love Taxes N Books but Peggy has actually managed to make taxes less painful for me. I love that I can knock out my taxes all in one meeting and can send any missing documents through email. Make an appt in January for extra savings!
