Please pay attention to upcoming special holidays hours! We always recommend making reservations ahead of time for any day and any time by leaving a detailed voicemail, we for sure call you back to confirm or modify it. Thank you so much! We will have a special Christmas & New Years menu, that may require a reservation by itself as well. We would appreciate if you let us know beforehand, if you going to go with these specials! We offer authentic Southern German cooking, mostly from the area Franconia in the state Bavaria. Simply said REAL good GERMAN food! Every Friday & Saturday nights live music from EDELWEISS, we suggest making reservations ahead of time in general for all our open hours! Enjoy owner Rainer's homemade Bratwurst, a variety of famous as well as one of a kind Schnitzel, which are available from pork or chicken.

I highly recommend this place for good German food! We went there for our anniversary meal and had an enjoyable experience!
They prefer you make reservations prior to arriving. I called and left a voicemail and they were very responsive and called back in less than an hour of the call.
The hostess seated us immediately upon arrival and our waiter came and tended to us within minutes.
I definitely recommend the goulash and the apple strudel with ice cream for desert!
The live music definitely added to the ambience and authenticity to the whole experience!
I have to say that I read some of the negative reviews and while I don't mean to underplay other people's experiences, as a business owner, some of them are severely entitled!
There are way too many wacky yelpers dogging businesses over silly things.
These people work hard to serve patrons and I'm sure strive to meet everyone's expectations, be kind and thankful!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much for this lovely and honest review, we truly appreciate your support in all directions!

I have no complaint w your food, only your ambiance and the way you handled my review. I still stand by it. The food is good, the ambiance w mannequins, 1970's or so furniture and what looks like garage sale pictures on the wall, not so much.
I'm sure you have a loyal following. Please focus on them and not me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Yes Ma'am we do have our loyal community! Customers gifting us their collections and we brought so much over from Germany, all from family and friends, which means a lot to us and formerly to them. Trust me for us its worth a million of love given to us, what looks like garage sale to you. Thank you for re-reviewing!
Our edit after you edited your story Ma'am!
We did not disinvite you to be patron again. We suggested to come on a day where no music plays!
I hope people will read our side of the story in full too. There are so many who love the ambience of our restaurant, you clearly see in tons of reviews exactly about that!
Thank you onto the compliments onto our food. Decor wise it is made on purpose with that rustic old look. If you don't care for the music, don't come Friday nor Saturday. Others love this form of entertainment.
Ma'am we did a extensive remodeling onto this building, which took over 8 months. You should have seen before or may look up the pics to it on our FB page.
My husband and me as owners are in our 50's and we have no kids and we don't want to change a thing. We like it like that and others seems to love it too.
It's everyone's own taste of ambience we guess.Feb 23, 2024Previous reviewGood food. Needs updating. 1970's. Schnitzel is great, I could really do without listening to the chicken dance for 20 minutes. It entertains the kids for five minutes but it's awkward after that. I could live without the live music.
Two hours later. Per your invite, they messaged me to disinvited me to ever be a patron again. I won't return. And I stand by my review. I'm scared to come to your restaurant bc it's old and I've been to Germany and it looks nothing like it. I don't think there's a restaurant there that does it this way anymore. This is old there. Maybe your kids could do a better job.
They again messaged me to let me know they had no kids and updated the decor. There's so much more but it's boring. Just letting you know. It's not a place I want to go to. There's all kinds of creepy manakins and weird decor. If you don't want to hear it, ok. Food is good but my skin crawls when I enter. Maybe another refresh would help. Everyone in there was over 70. Maybe this works for you. But can honestly say I would never want to spend a birthday or anniversary w you. It felt like even the staff was embarrassed to work there. - Fred W.Pinellas Park, FL0352Apr 14, 2024
authentic food with a wide menu that even keto people can enjoy. Service was quick. Ambience was authentic German.

The food here is amazing... the schnitzel kren (the horseradish gravy is the bomb), pretzel with melted beer cheese, red cabbage, strudel, and kartoffelpuffer are my favorite! I would, however, love to see a better selection of German beers. It seems every time we visit, there are slim pickings. We've spent time in Bavaria, and while the Bavarian's Wirtshaus's entertainment may not be typical to what we experience in todays German restaurants... We always still enjoy the atmosphere and listening to the live band playing traditional German tunes as folks polka around the front of the restaurant. I highly recommend making reservations, as we've been turned away before due to it being so busy. We only wish it were closer to Milton, so that we can visit more often...

Thank you very much, we truly appreciate and live to hear that you enjoy your visits a lot. If all beers available from distributor we usually carry 10 to 14 different types, but that's unfortunately not constantly so, due to all are imported and some brands have problems every now and then. We're looking forward to see y'all soon again!

The servings are massive and pretty good. The service is decent but not overly friendly. Maybe its the straight to the point German style. The pretzel app is slightly lackluster and its hard to understand the up charge on having the cheese dip heated. This could easily been 4 stars but the German band was fairly annoying with the vocals of a tortured goose. But... if giant servings of anything schnitzel is your thing, your in for a treat. The cordon blue is awesome. Bring earplugs just in case polka songs played like a broken accordion isn't your thing.

Thank you for the compliments onto our food! The Cordon Bleu is made out of pork lol. We used to serve the beer cheese cold, all of a sudden everyone wants it heated up, if it wasn't your taste, other's love it that way. Everyone is happy to have the band playing, that's why lots of people come for. If you want decent German music of CD just feel free to come any other day, just not Friday or Saturday. Thank you for your visit!

The food here is amazing. Fourth year coming here over the holidays. This is my dads favorite German restaurant and he asks for the same waitress every time he comes here while snowbirding (Nov-Apr) in FL.
As we have come here several times with different friends we have tried different foods off the menu. We all agree the schnitzels are the best. There is a variety of gravy to choose from.
Was told the Ruben sandwich is not what you would expect so if your are looking for a typical Ruben, you may not want to order one here. I'm always up for trying the unusual. Potato pancakes are a favorite and can be complimented with a choice of apple sauce, sour cream, smoked salmon or horseradish whip. I always go with the apple sauce. The sausage platter for a connoisseur of sausages may disappoint. A recent holiday parsnip soup with apple and spices was not well received by a couple of the men in our party but I tasted it and really enjoyed it. It had a hint of cinnamon and maybe anise and got its sweetness from the apples.
When you order your dinner you get a choice of two sides. For us the spatzle is always a must along with either the red cabbage or sauerkraut or the barvarian potato sauce. Other sides are available too like an interesting house salad that comes with cooked beets, carrots and green beans.
Music on Friday nights can be fun although don't expect to converse much at your table while the oompa band is playing.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much for being such loyal recurring customers! Happy new year to y'all! we'll see you in 2023! P.s. that's why it's called Bavarian's Reuben because we make it with our homemade pork pattie and our own Bavarian's dressing - def worth to try!

We have been wanting to try this place so we finally did.
The staff, all were extremely nice and accommodating, the host actually hugged regular guests when they arrived.
We both had the Jägerschnitzel, spouse's was a bit tough. They were a little thin. The batter was good and the Jäger mushroom gravy was good.
The salad was very good, the mustard for the pretzel was delicious and the beer cheese was good.
The fries were hot and tasty, used the curry ketchup, YUM!
It was okay to visit but not sure we would return. Since my spouse is half German, a high standard of German food is expected.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you very much for this great review! Depending on were your spouse was born, each region cooks different, even if the names of the dishes are the same. We are from Oberfranken and my husband as one of the owners cooks as he learned from Grandma via mother and as learned during his apprenticeship as a German butcher by trade. We are happy that you enjoyed your visit with us!

Can not recommend based off of the hostess/cashier. Incredibly rude individual. The wait staff was not the problem. I never tried the food, I finished half of my beverage and left after the final act of rudeness by hostess.

Fun, authentic dining experience! We ate the Schnitzel, Red Cabbage, Sauerbraten and their special offered during their German Fest. Washed it all down with delicious imported beers. Be ready for German titles as the menu reflects the authentic food you'll enjoy!
