What could be better than a fun comfortable place, with great service, great food and a good cause! I've now been there twice and will most definitely be back. Since both breakfast and lunch can be ordered and there are choices for vegans and vegetarians, it is a terrific place to go with friends with different food preferences.

Gotta give this sweet cat cafe props for a comfy atmosphere and the support the business gives to its resident feline rescues. Loved the experience of dining here. The food and coffee were all right, but a little on the pricier side.

My friends and I split our bill and left at different times, so there was a little confusion about what was already paid. But luckily the paid paper receipt covering my friends' orders was discovered, otherwise I would've been stuck paying their bill. This hiccup occurred largely because the bill is paid at the front counter, and it would've been troublesome if the paper receipt was lost in the shuffle had the cafe been busier.

Tip: Make sure to tell the server ahead of time who exactly is in your party and how you want the bill split to avoid any confusion. Without a digital system, it can be a little hard to split bills later, especially if people leave at different times.

First off, I love the mission here. All the staff are volunteers and support the nonprofit -- only paid through tips. The space is cozy and homey. The furniture looks a little strewn together, but it works. We came here on a Saturday for a quick bite (and to see the cats up for adoption). The Black Cat Cafe serves up quality food from courteous staff.

Note I'm rating this place as I would for any other restaurant, but take any criticisms with a grain of salt as this is a well-meaning nonprofit that actually does the restaurant thing pretty well.

Avocado Bacon and Cheese Sandwich - Savory and melty, this sandwich was pretty good. It was a little light on avocado and bacon, but heavy on the cheese. A bit more bacon and avocado would have really made this one great. The sides were great. I really enjoyed the potato salad, which was unassuming but packed a lot of flavor. The chips were good -- standard crunchy ones.

I've had the opportunity to visit the Black Cat Cafe twice now - once for one of their Friday night burger specials and the second time for a Sunday breakfast with FDC. This is a lovely small cafe, slightly off the 'beaten path' of Lancaster Ave/Route 30, definitely worth the 1 block drive.

The cafe is decorated like a sweet cottage, with tables of various sizes, lots of cat-themed decor and a small gift shop area where you can also visit with some of their adoptable cats, as this restaurant supports a local cat rescue called PALS - Pet Adoption and Lifecare Society. Profits from the cafe go to support their great work as a no-kill shelter.

My last visit was with FDC for breakfast. We called ahead to reserve a table - always a good idea at busy times. We were seated promptly and our drink order taken - i got the hot cocoa, FDC the coffee. Both were really good. Then our food order - she got the SOS (creamed chipped beef) and I got the Caribbean French Toast, Sides of scrapple, bacon and home fries.

I have to say: The Caribbean French Toast is the stuff of breakfast dreams. Mango infused butter, sweet with a crunchy -sweet crust, generous pour of maple syrup. It was, in a word, amazing and unique and definitely on my list of things to order. FDC reported that the SOS was homemade, creamy and savory and definitely not cut from a food service pouch.

On my previous visit, with Lion, we got the burger special and man, that was a really good burger.

Service was good, keep in mind that your server may be a volunteer or an employee and sometimes they get backed up. Everyone was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed both meals.

      We are definitely coming back.

Sorry, but when you are excited to have breakfast and want some of everything this just doesn't cut it. The pancake and French toast are acceptable, but the other dish looks like it was leftovers from someone else's meal.

This is the Vegan Garfield Sampler for NINETEEN dollars.
The tofu scramble arrived with two dinky pieces of tofu. TWO!

Vegan Garfield breakfast. (Just delivered to my table. Believe it or not I had not eaten any of it yet.)

Honestly some of the best blueberry pancakes I have ever had, and for a reasonable price. This is a cool little cafe and the best part is they have little kittens in cages (don't know if you can adopt) but they were adorable. Absolutely recommend!

Okay, I have found my new favorite cafe in the suburbs!

This quaint cafe located near the Devon Whole Foods is worth a trip for any and all. The place is little small but the aesthetic is phenomenal! There is antique decor and great cat items such as paintings in the wall. The space is so unique with perfect lighting and they even leave a hand sanitizer on the table for you. When you enter, on your right there are adoptable kittens that you can play with and give a treat! I didn't realize at first that it was a cat cafe and honestly, it is an absolute joy! It's run by all volunteers in support of PALS and cat rescue efforts which means whatever your meal costed goes directly to help support the nonprofit.

The food here is phenomenal! I had the pancakes and I was taken aback by the absolutely delicious and fluffy cakes on my plate. They incorporate whatever ingredient you want in them and provide you with real maple syrup. The place smelled amazing with the flavors of breakfast too! The staff are really attentive and engage you with great conversation and fantastic service!

The only issue is the parking. There is limited parking however, if you are a seasoned bruncher, you know that there are street parking options if you look. There are a ton of side streets and parking areas around the cafe so you are good to find a spot if all the parking in the lot is taken.

I highly recommend this cafe for both filling your tummy with delicious, high quality food and also to support a great cause!

Had breakfast at this adorable cat rescue/restaurant. The staff was friendly, the food good,it was very clean, cats are caged, and proceeds from your meal goes to helping and saving kitties of all ages and circumstances.
I'd definitely visit again and I'll certainly share the little gem in the future.

It only was the food good, I love that their profits go to helping cats. Workers are volunteers that are working for tips. What a wonderful concept! The desserts are made in house, too! Would recommend them all. My favorite was the key lime pie!!
