I am posting an update to provide proof, as Ceci refuses to acknowledge what she did. Her attitude was and continues to be indefensible. Please see the proof that I had my brows done by her - a receipt from her services and the email where she agreed to remove them with acid.
I am also editing to add that this woman did exactly what I thought she would do when I shared my experience - she messaged me until I had to block her. I feel like behavior like that shows a lack of remorse.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 4Business owner information

Hi Heather
We have no record of you on our books. We also do not recognize those photos you posted, it isn’t our work. We have followed up with yelp, since this looks to be like a fraudulent review and they will be running an investigation.Apr 21, 2023Previous reviewI came to the Brow Studio & Academy a little while ago to have my brows microbladed after seeing all of the seemingly gorgeous pictures. I brought pics of how I normally do my eyebrows with makeup + examples of other photos from her website of shapes that look good with my face structure. Cici drew on an outline that didn't follow aesthetic best practices - it was flat / no arch, didn't align with the 3-point rule, came very far in, and went very far out & down. I was nervous seeing the shape she drew and asked if we could re-draw it.
Cici was impatient with me and only begrudgingly redrew it, but the shape was still very low and flat compared to what looks good on my face shape. I was hesitating, but she started pressuring me and telling me to hurry up, telling me that she "needs to get started", and telling me to "just let her start", so I caved in to her pressure. She did not seem to care about ensuring I felt comfortable even though it's semi-permanent. While she microbladed me, she complained about my brow shape, things unrelated to microblading like my hair tint, thin blood, and she even said I will need to come back to do some other service later to fix the work she was currently doing.
When it was all done, it didn't look like what I asked for, which were sharp, angular tails that flare out. The result didn't follow the shape she had initially drawn either, had very little arch, the tails were too thick / flat/ round, came in too far, and was not flattering on my face shape. It's fine if you like flat / wide eyebrows and that looks good on some people, but an aesthetician needs to keep in mind the face shape and desires of the client for a good result. I immediately went home and cried. After spending hours trying to remove it myself, I finally went back and Cici agreed to remove them. While she was removing them, Cici chastised me and told me that I should "just do makeup from now on" and she didn't apologize. I've had tattoos, actual general anesthesia cosmetic surgery, monthly aesthetic services, etc., and never been treated so poorly by a professional - usually I'm quite happy with my results.
I have since then had my eyebrows microbladed by someone who took the time to understand what aesthetic would look good with my face shape / what result I would like, and it looks great. I am resentful that Cici thought she could blame me for her own workmanship and manner. I was hesitant to write a review since I don't want to hear more attitude from this woman, but more importantly is that I don't want anyone else to go through what I went through with the acid removal and pain if it can be avoided! The attitude and bedside manner I experienced here were very bad, but I also personally think the skill is lacking compared to how it's presented online. You can also decide for yourself from a real customer (not all those fake 5-star reviews on Google from fake accounts that only ever did 1 review) - attached is a photo of what I asked for from her portfolio (bottom) compared to what Cici gave me (top) along with a photo of the shape that looks good on my face (my daily makeup). The aesthetic was definitely not what I asked for, but her really poor attitude and the rude things said to me are definitely what makes this a 1-star review rather than just the painful inconvenience of acid removal. - S. I've traveled throughout the Bay Area and finally found the best!! Celia is clearly an expert and skilled instructor in this field. I've had multiple services and corrections from the past where I've never left dissatisfied! I've regained confidence in the natural eye liner and brow work and am looking forward to lip blush.

Fantastic experience each time I've gone. I just went for a touch up and walked out feeling so good. Very professional and excellent location. Anytime I get a compliment on my eyebrows, I always share these gem of a place.

Today was my first visit to The Brow Studio. I came for eyebrow lamination and to have my brows shaped/waxed. I have had my brows laminated many times before (over 2 years of getting laminated) at another brow bar but my go-to aesthetician moved and I hunted online and on social media for someone new. My expectation of a place that specializes just in brows was to leave with brows looking better than when I came in.
I'm a busy mom of 2 and work full time so I get appointments in when I can and have help. Truly maximize time so when I make an appointment it's a big deal in my world and I look forward to any kind of pampering....
My appt was today at 3pm and I was told I would be out by 4pm.
I saw Nurzat who is promoted as a "lead artist" on their website. I don't take Yelp reviews lightly as post pandemic I know how important reviews are for local businesses but my experience was SO upsetting that it is clear that when it comes to brows (lamination, waxing and shaping) at least Nurzat does not have the skill set. I don't want others to experience the same and waste precious time!
First Nurzat laminated my brows....She then put wax on and after 10 minutes or so I asked her why she let the wax sit for so long. She tells me the wax is "bad" and "too soft" and then proceeds to take a cotton pad and wipe and PICK it off with her fingers. She then took a wooden stick that looked like a cuticle remover and started trying to remove the was that way. I asked her to stop and to just remove it gently as to not inflame or damage my skin.
Mind you I'm just laying down in a vulnerable position not being able to see what she is doing as no mirror was provided.
Now on edge and I inquired what is wrong with the wax, why did you let it sit then wipe it off?"... She tells me she usually shaves brows and doesn't wax them- and offered to fully either pluck and shave them (HARD NO). I know enough to not allow that....
After a few minutes of her trying to pitch shaving and plucking my brows and me telling her neither will work, she says the wax is "ready now" and hot enough (2nd time placing wax) and proceeds to put the wax back on my face. At this point I'm asking questions because I still notice the wax is just warm... after letting it sit again, she then starts just wiping it off with a cotton pad. Not walking me through verbally why. At this point I ask for a mirror. She ignores me so I pull out my phone and to my HORROR I have wax SMEARED all over my forehead, smeared back into my hair. Yes- WAX IN MY HAIR. At this point I was done and sat up and told her to stop wiping and picking at me with the cuticle stick and requested her to grab someone else, anyone else that worked there. She says the owner is in but before she would grab her she wanted to finish getting the wax off (to cover up what is happening). I told her to stop touching my face and grab the owner. The owner, Cecilia comes back and is dumbfounded and honestly what I viewed as mortified. I had wax smeared all over my face and hair.
The second star is because Cecilia actually tried to rectify what happened by apologizing, cleaning up her mess- which included alcohol pads and oil all over my face. Removed all of my makeup. My eyebrows are still a mess and the worst part, the lamination didn't even stick after Nurzat and Cecilia had to wipe down my face! I left at 4:30, so stayed an hour and a half- no lamination, no shaping or removal of hair. I left with all of my makeup removed and my skin around my eyes and temple feeling raw.
Cecilia offered to do my brows for free tomorrow and I agreed since I was flustered but I realize now after digesting what happened, I can't go back. At the end of the day it falls on the owner for allowing an employee with this level of skill set to be client facing.... I have photos of the wax and mess on my face and hair while in the studio and if I didn't look so awful I would share but I think this testament is enough.
I got my deposit refunded and am not going back. I'm writing this review as this is an honest experience and left me really upset. I can't speak to other services. I'm SO bummed to have wasted my time today, I've now had to spend more time calling and researching places to get my brows done before a trip this weekend since I was left worse than when I came in. I was so hopeful to have found "my new place"...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2Business owner information

Im so sorry for your experience. As I understood speaking with the Artist, the wax wasn’t hot enough and she was scrambling to get the wax off. This is something I will be addressing with her personally since this obviously wasn’t the professional experience you should have received.
I’ve been in business for over 7 years and have dedicated everything to make sure my clients have the best treatment and experience possible… I’m disappointed that I wasn’t called sooner to help remediate the situation. - Christine R.Pleasanton, CA1103Nov 20, 2023

I am so pleased with how my eyebrows turned out. I did a lot of research and took months before I decided to choose The Brown Studio and Academy. I made an appointment for microblading. Nicole did an amazing job assessing my skin and letting me know what was best for my skin. We went with the powder brow/ombré. I was nervous but Nicole was very detailed and explained the process every step of the way. Thank you Nicole for an amazing job. I can't wait to come in for my touch-up.

I'm not sure if it was due my skin type.... I have combo oily skin. I did get one session and two touch up's included with my first payment. One brow faded quickly and the other sort of faded only on the top giving me a constant slightly angry look. I think they're sort of uneven and rather close to each other? I have a friend who got her eyebrows tattooed in Taiwan and it didn't quite look like this. She suggested searching for a phi brow artist. This is my first time getting my brows tattooed so I don't know what to recommend others. I thought this photo without makeup/ filter may help anyone make a decision on the treatment.
