The boyfriend and I made a reservation for their early theatre dinner before heading to the Kennedy Center. The threatre pfixed menu was a great value and price per person.

The service was wonderful and very accommodating. The staff took into consideration that we had a show to get to and hurried out with each dish and the bill. The food came out in a timely manner and was great and the inside is ideal for couples.

Our overall experience was excellent. The boyfriend doesn't ever really remember much other than the food when we dine out to nicer restaurants, but The Caucus Room left a great lasting impression on him and always recommends this place to friends looking for suggestions in DC.

Do not go here for breakfast! For being a hotel restaurant at The Westin you would think that they would make more of an effort. Our food came out barely warm.
Brioche French toast which was $15 was definitely not worth the price tag. The egg mixture they use has no flavoring and was tasteless. The brioche wasn't even tasty. My daughter order chocolate chip pancakes which cost $10 and they charge $2 extra for the 4 chocolate chips they put in them, not to mention $6 for a tiny glass maybe 6oz of milk. Coffee was nice & strong but would have been best had the wait staff come to see if I needed it heated up at any point of refilled.
The best part of our breakfast was the view of the courtyard & each other's company. Definitely stay away!

Staying in the hotel on location, and wanted to grab a quick bite. Great happy hour deals on wings and fries. Nice atmosphere with two televisions. Bartender today was super friendly. Would definitely stop back in sometime.

Great selection of bourbon! Woodford, Blanton's, Jefferson's!

There was nothing wrong with my service. in fact the BEST part of my experience comes from my server, except for the fact that she didn't confirm the side that I'd want with my burger.

I ordered the signature burger medium rare which, as you know, should have come with a healthy amont of pink in it. almost 15 minutes later (in an empty restaurant, aside from me) i received a well done burger. so then I tell my server who takes it to the back and orders another one which takes about 10 minutes. In between that time the manager (I'm guessing since he never identified himself) shows up to tell me that my order was wrong due to the inspectors in the building... which as a customer I could give two shits about. I just want my food, right?

and then there is the idea that I received my check for a FULL PRICED burger. I did not expect that burger to be free, because honestly it was QUITE delicious and I never look for a handout. but there wasn't even a 5% discount on my bill... just casually sent me a bill like its expected to pay full price for waiting almost half an hour for food in a restaurant that NOBODY was inside of. maybe its just me, but all that calls for something more than a "I'm sorry, the inspectors are here"

needless to say, it was a beautiful restaurant... which really doesn't matter to me given the experience. shameful, I had such high hopes since I was staying in the Westin Hotel attached :(

Firstly, the ambiance is incredible. The interior had a mixed modern/50s feel, but the actual architecture of the space felt more 1920s. Loved the screen prints of trees in lieu of marble.

The food was just okay. Not bad, not great. The chimichurri wasn't fresh, which is culinary blasphemy. I was most impressed with the fruit plate, if that tells you anything. The cafe au lait was pretty expertly crafted.

The servers seem to work as a team, and everyone was friendly. We did periodically go without water. Some of the other reviews here recounted ridiculous experiences. Pleased that it wasn't mine!

Because the food is nothing special, the place is overpriced. A smaller local place could probably cook me better food in a worse atmosphere for 40% less money. I'd rather have the cash and better food myself.

I probably won't bother to come back unless reviews suggest the food has improved.

This place is a joke. Came here with family for breakfast as we are staying at the Marriott of which it is a part of. Where to start? I ordered he Steak & Cheese omelette. First they had to check to see if they had steak - it's a Steak House for gods sake. Well it came without cheese, which is an important part of a steak & cheese omelette, as well as the elusive steak. It contained spinach, and lots of it, which was not listed as an ingredient - I dislike spinach & would not have ordered it. The tomatoes were missing, probably hanging out with the vacationing cheese & elusive steak.
Service was awful. My daughter had to go to the counter to order & then her poached egg came out completely hard, which she sent back. We had to go to get our own spoons, as despite asking twice, they never arrived.
      The coffee was good !

What an excellent experience. The waitor Bill, was amazing. He paid great attention to my food allergies. The food was excellent and the dark chocolate moose was perfect.

My second time going there today...won't make that mistake again. It's overpriced, the wait staff if less then professional and the food is not good. I got the ahi tuna sandwich today and it was dry, tasteless, and the bread seemed stale.

The waitress gave my coworker the wrong sandwich and when my coworker asked her if it was wrong, the server insisted it was correct. She was supposed to get turkey and she was served salmon. My coworker was too nice to argue so she ate it anyway. When the server came back to check on us she was told the sandwich was in fact, wrong she responds, "oh yeah I know sorry I'll charge you for the turkey anyway since it was cheaper." First of all, as soon as she realized she was indeed wrong, she should've came to the table and said so. Second of all, how about you not charge her at all since you put in the wrong order and insisted it was correct?

It's a shame I won't be back since it's across the street from my job.

I came here for dinner after a busy day of meetings. I ordered the strip steak medium rare and my friend ordered the filet mignon medium rare. When our food came out, my strip steak was medium rare so i was content with it. Tasted like any strip steak - nothing spectacular. My friend's filet mignon, however, was on the medium side. He didn't want to bother the servers so that part is on him for being stuck with a filet mignon cooked medium.

The Westin Georgetown should be ashamed to be associated with this restaurant. It's been years since I've received such terrible service for such an expensive meal. My family was staying at the Westin, and while most days of our visit, we went to the highly-rated Uptown Cafe around the corner for a quick meal prior to a day of sightseeing, one day we decided to have a nice, relaxing meal at the Caucus Room within the hotel. Upon entering, we waiting for well over 5 minutes before anyone greeted us, and we were only seated after waving down one of the two aloof waiters. Note that the restaurant was barely half full when we walked in. Once seated, we were given menus, and then nobody came back to check on us for quite awhile. Several minutes later, we gave our drink orders. More than 20 minutes later, nobody had come back to check on us, bring our drinks, or take our food order. Several times, I flagged someone down, and they'd say they'd come to us, but they didn't. We finally were able to place our food order. Note, still no drinks. After 30 minutes, I went up to the hotel lobby to get a cup of coffee and then cancelled my drink order in the restaurant. It was only after getting the manager's attention (he was the only one who seemed to know what he was doing, and he was flying around the restaurant to try to help everyone), that we were able to get our food. The pancakes were dry and tasteless, the french toast was charred black on the bottom, and some of the other parts of our order were wrong. For $85, I expected much much better. The only thing keeping me from giving this a zero star rating (not that it's possible on Yelp) is the fact that the manager at least was trying his best to help everyone.
