No wonder this place usually has a line all the way down the sidewalk. We have eaten at the clam shack several times, and it never disappoints. The lobster can't get any fresher as it is swimming just moments before it lands on your plate. The onion rings are homemade, made to order, and completely crunchy and delicious. The coleslaw is just right, not too mayonnaisey. My husband loved his chowder; it was better than the chowder he had eaten a few days ago, just right down the road at a different restaurant. If you see a line jump in it anyway, it is worth the wait! And it moves pretty fast.

A Kennebunkport staple! I've had probably 2/3 of the items on the menu and have been happy with everything. Their lobster rolls are nice and fresh and a little different style than typical lobster rolls (different bun). My favorite thing to get, though, are the fried shrimp with the crinkle cut fries. The line can be very long. It's right in the heart of Dock Square, which makes it a little less accessible on a busy summer day, but perfectly convenient if you're already in town -- and not to mention a beautiful atmosphere.

One of the best lobster rolls I have had! I'd heard that the lobster rolls here were some of the best in New England and they did not disappoint. The presentation of a circle bun is very unique, but dont let it fool you. The lobster is still classic New England and the sandwich came with a good portion of lobster. I prefer mine warm with butter but there was an option for chilled with Mayo. The roll was also buttery and soft. The clam chowder was not as memorable but it was still a good choice on a cold day. A classic New England experience!

I can see why this place has a line. Well worth it. Had the fried clams and the lobster roll. Both so great and there was so much lobster on the roll and the clams were delish. Great low key place to have great food and beverage

The Quintessential Tourist Trap. Everything is way over priced, and I mean WAY OVER PRICED, and not any better than anywhere else that serves the same food. Got to the Chowder House in Cape Porpoise. A 5 minute drive and 1/2 the price.
You know you are over priced when you can divide what you paid by the number of fried clams in less than 3 seconds; because they are easy to count.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zachary K.Arlington, VA0276Jun 5, 2023
By far the best clam chowder I've ever had, worth a special trip every time I'm in Maine.

Our second trip to the area and I want to declare this my FAVORITE lobster roll hands down in Maine!
The roll, the Temperature of the lobster, and the amount of butter were perfect.
I also tried the clam strips, which I loved! Maybe a home made tarter sauce would be a plus?
Bravo Clam shack.... You are the GOAT!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Hugh L.Thousand Oaks, CA020Aug 14, 2023
Just my honest opinion...I think this place is more about the 'hype' as I've had better lobster rolls. Of course, it's all subjective and everyone has their own opinion. I wasn't a fan of the untoasted hamburger bun and the lobster (with mayo & butter) was a bit bland and chewy. Not 'bad' but not 'great'.

Best fried clams that I've had this summer season. They were lightly battered and they were the full belly ones , although you could get the strips.
Weather was perfect and we got the buzzer when your ordered food was ready.
Also, they served draft IPA beer here.
Also indoor dining is available. They will be opened up til Columbus Day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joe R.Litchfield, NH1262Jun 2, 2023
Extremely rude in the middle of eating my lobster roll and asked me to move from an outside bench "not Marked" , because it was for on line orders.
He could see I was almost done too.
Two thumbs down for customer service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
