We have had this little gem on our list for awhile and finally made it over to the Hey Hey Club. It is a bit of a trek but well worth the drive or Uber. Located in basement of the J Reiger building, the space is dark, cozy, and trendy with nods to Kansas City's colorful past.
We enjoyed a Manhattan, a Mochila (very festive with a smokey, blended scotch and warm winter spices), and their creative spin on an espresso martini (they don't have an espresso machine but made a tasty drink with cold brew). Everything was delicious, and sipping while listening to live music made it even better. A must try!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 3, 2023
My first experience at The Hey Hey Club yesterday for Sippin' Santa was outstanding! The service was exceptional and the themed drinks were on point.
We had a reservation and showed up 20 minutes early but our table was ready. The decor was festive without being too over the top, keeping the cool, upscale vibe of an underground bar intact.
We tried three of the themed drinks and ordered the crab rangoons. The drinks and crab rangoons were served promptly. Both the drinks and rangoons were very good.
The vibes are immaculate and the bar is well-maintained. The restrooms are also the nicest and cleanest I've ever seen at a bar. I look forward to my next visit!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 26, 2023
Attended the Sippin with Santa Holiday Pop up at the Hey! Hey! Club last night. Quite festive with an extensive holiday themed drink list. J Rieger is decorated for the holiday and it's such a warm and inviting experience.
Would definitely encourage you to book the shipping with Santa holiday experience before it's gone!
There are 11 different themed holiday drinks, all coming in a unique and fun holiday glass. The glasses are offered for sale in the lobby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 365087Apr 7, 2024
I met a few friends here for a low-key bachelorette party. It was my first visit, but I would absolutely go back. It is located in the basement of J Reiger, the lights are low, and loveseats and armchairs are arranged in little groups around tables--it is very cool and comfortable and bougie. The drink menu is full of very unique and interesting drinks, and the apps were incredible. Our server was very helpful and made several fantastic recommendations baaed on our different preferences. Everything we ate and drank was sooo good. The charcuterie especially--the cheese and the smoked grapes were standouts, but every morsel was mouth watering. In short, check this place out!!

Retro-style high end cocktail bars, many influenced by the Roaring 20s nightclubs and speakeasys that Kansas City made famous, have become all the rage.
What makes The Hey! Hey! Club special is its attention to detail.
I love the rich wooden furniture layout that matches up with an old art deco-influenced bar.
I also love using the table top "candles" to help me read the drink menu since the room is purposely kept dark to protect everyone's privacy.
It's a cozy space.
I recommend making a reservation if you're visiting during peak times or with a larger group.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Oct 21, 2023
Made a next-day reservation for a Friday night. When we arrived, unfortunately had to wait for 20 minutes after our reservation time until we were seated.
Ordered a Barnstormer and then a Bowery Boogie. Both were very well-balanced, unique, and delicious! The flavors really worked well together.
The ambiance of the room was elevated, yet unpretentious. It was a little loud when it was full, but not too bad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 13, 2024
Great vibe if you're looking for somewhere very laid back to have a quiet conversation or just relax with a drink. The service was average, as they didn't come around as often as I would have expected but may have been because they were busy. Best part of this experience hands down was the incredible, unique handcrafted drink, the Bowery Boogie. Perfect mix of lime, basil, and a significant but really nice kick of spice! Worth the try, worth the money. Great experience!

This was our first time at the Hey Hey Club and we went during the Sippin Santa Christmas pop up. I highly recommend making reservations before going. The drinks were great and I loved the fun Christmas mugs that they came in. The crab Rangoon was probably the best that I have had and I would get it again. Our server was very quick and even though it was very busy we never had a long wait for our food or drinks. We plan on returning.

So glad I got a chance to experience the Slippin Santa event, I love the mix of having a tiki bar filled with Christmas decorations. The drinks were top-notch, we had North Pole Bowl For Two! Martinique & Jamaican rums, black tea, thrice-spiced honey, lime, vanilla syrup. Yall this drink was strong and so tasty, the second drink was Secret Santa which was also really good and had rum in it. Also had GARLIC PRAWNS (GF) black pepper aioli, cardamom-pineapple chutney, look I was upset that it came with 3, it was too good! Service was great we enjoyed our mixologist!

Four of us stopped by on a Wednesday evening (with a reservation) and were seated right way. The host even took our jackets and hung them up for us.
The Atmosphere is super fun and cozy. The soft candle give the place a mysterious feel.
Cocktails are priced well - and the presentation is very upscale. I loved everything about our evening out! I can't wait to come back again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1
