The Hilltop Bar & Grill

So a "real time" review as I am sitting at the bar awaiting a replacement order.

It is hard to describe the burger I was served. It was way over cooked but that was not a full description. In addition to being charred beyond well done it was also very dense.... Definitely not a coarse grind. The combination was a patty that was inedible. Ate less than 1/4.

Why not a worse rating? The female barkeep was so attentive and on top of it that it was still a decent meal. Happily replaced it with a 1/2 dozen wings which were very good.

I love the quesadillas with the siracha Mayo sauce. Wings are also a great pick also. The staff is friendly and the inside is clean and beautifully redone.

The wings are the ONLY thing worth paying for here & mediocre at best. We've tried other menu items several times & all were a disappointment. This one takes the cake & costs the Hilltop any repeat business from us.

The pictures are SUPPOSED to be of the 8oz Haddock Dinner for $18.99 & the French onion soup for $4.99. The fork in the picture is for reference only as the food was completely inedible. Sadly, we ordered it all to-go & didn't realize it was all terrible until home (over 1/2 hr away).

The haddock dinner was burnt, not 8oz OR haddock & it was missing the lemon butter/bread crumb topping as described on the menu but had an abundance of paprika. I believe they switched the haddock dinner order with another paprika haddock dish on the menu - but conveniently forgot to lower the price.

The French onion soup was a cup of broth. No croutons or Swiss cheese in it or on the side, as described on the menu. Sadly, this was take-out & we never looked until we got home (over 1/2 hour away).

All over-priced as all inedible. Totally feel cheated. Email with pictures sent to management - received absolutely no response.

Family of 4. Prime rib, nachos mozzarella sticks and quesadillas. Everyone of them below standard. It's labeled as a dive bar. Come for the beers..that's about it. Avoid the food!

Awesome food and atmosphere ! Tried the steak and the baby back ribs, which were both unbelievable. New owners really stepped up the game here

Used to be decent. Just got wings that were barely cooked, little sauce. French fries loaded with salt. Popcorn chicken or whatever they call it was hardly cooked. Disappointing.

I feel so blessed to Yelp this place to find an amazing view and meet the chef who introduced me to a yummy jerk chicken! Next Enchiladas! Such a beautiful country... make the stop!!! I want one of these in my hood! !! Kindness extrodinaire !!! I'm very grateful to the chef for making my trip that much more enjoyable! I love life's surprises!!!

Many many years ago this use to be a hot spot on wing night. I had heard the wings weren't as good as they use to be but I figured I'd check it out again.

We seated ourselves and a waitress came over relatively quick for our drink order. I asked for unsweetened tea and she stated they don't have any tea. I asked for bottled water and she said they don't have bottled water either. My friend got a beer. We already knew we wanted wings so when she came back with our drinks we ordered. I got 6 BBQ wings and 6 honey mustard wings "naked" (without breeding). He ordered 12 buffalo ranch wings I believe they were called. We also ordered fries. Our food came out within a decent time. My honey mustard wings didn't have much sauce on them but they were okay. I tried the BBQ wings and they tasted absolutely horrible. I've never had a BBQ flavor I didn't like until I tasted this. I can't even describe the flavor but it didn't taste like any BBQ I ever had. My friend also said his wings didn't taste anything like buffalo sauce he said they had a weird flavor that wasn't necessarily bad but wasn't good either. The fries were okay, nothing exceptional. We left half our food uneaten and waited to see the waitress for our bill. We waited, and waited, and waited. After 20 minutes I flagged our waitress down and asked for our bill. We paid and left rather unsatisfied.

I also noticed the bar seemed very greasy and dirty. The door to exit the building had leaking grease from above and grease dripping down the door. The tablecloths had holes in them as well. The bathroom was clean, surprisingly.

I don't feel I would recommend this place for wings. I noticed some reviews state other food is decent but definitely skip wing night unless you're brave ;)

Very enjoyable experience. Good service and great food. We will be back. Totally recommend.

Not bad but much better places in town. The food is good but the beer slections is not the best.
